Just moments ago, Mission Viejo dentist and part-time lawyer Orly Taitz notified Obama Conspiracy Theories that she had petitioned Attorney General Eric Holder to test President Obama’s eligibility quo warranto. Following is the complete statement Dr. Taitz provided to Obama Conspiracy Theories:

Assassinated Kennedy Predicted Obama’s Election

Robert Kennedy

Robert Kennedy

Noted psychic Robert F. Kennedy predicted the election of an African American president in 2008. In a 1968 radio address on the Voice of America, Kennedy said:

[Things are] moving so fast in race relations, a Negro could be president in 40 years … There is no question about it. In the next 40 years a Negro can achieve the same position that my brother had.

See the Washington Post (Washington, D.C.) May 27, 1968.

Kennedy was killed later that year.

Journalist Tim Russert died suddenly just 5 days after mentioning this prediction on the Meet the Press program (June 8, 2008).

Scapegoats and Lynch Mobs

George Meadows

Today’s Americans probably know little about lynching, mob murder of someone they take a dislike to. For the reader who is not familiar with this blot on American history, I suggest Lynching in the United States.  Between 1880 and 1951 the Tuskegee Institute recorded 3,437 lynchings of African Americans, as well as 1,293 whites.

René Girard talks  about mob violence in his book, The Scapegoat. Girard’s thesis is that pressures in a community build up, and through an act of violence opposing forces can unite at least for a time, and some sense of relief can be found.

At this time in American history with the economy in shambles, two wars, high profile public figures shown corrupt, and threats of terrorism and global ecological disaster, there is no shortage of pressure. When the mob chooses a victim, they pick someone who is “different”. To many Barack Obama is “different” because of his race, the fact that he’s mixed race, lived in Indonesia and doesn’t pass the right-wing litmus test on anything.

Of course, no one can lynch the President, Continue Reading →

Major Story at Politico.com

politicoA very important article, Culture of conspiracy: The Birthers, was published today at Politico.com.

Bill Clinton had the Vince Foster “murder.” George W. Bush had 9/11 Truth. And the new administration has brought with it a new culture of conspiracy: The Birthers.

Out of the gaze of the mainstream and even the conservative media is a flourishing culture of advocates, theorists and lawyers, all devoted to proving that Barack Obama isn’t eligible to be president of the United States. Viewed as irrelevant by the White House, and as embarrassing by much of the Republican Party, the subculture still thrives from the conservative website WorldNetDaily, which claims that some 300,000 people have signed a petition demanding more information on Obama’s birth, to Cullman, Alabama, where Sen. Richard Shelby took a question on the subject at a town hall meeting last week.

This is clearly the most important web article on Obama Conspiracy Theories since Salon.Com’s Why the stories about Obama’s birth certificate will never die.

One of the major threats I see to the birther movement is the  revelation in this story that Obama’s lawyers are working pro bono.
