At last, the original birth certificate

You say you want to see President Obama’s original birth certificate? Well here’s your chance and it will only cost you $100.

Ed Hale of the Plains (Internet) Radio Network is spending $25,000 to obtain a copy of the document and will share it with the first 500 people who pay $100 via the Plains Radio PayPal button. (For those not mathematically minded, this scheme would net Hale a $25,000 profit assuming Hale really pays out the $25,000 in the first place.)

Now if you had any doubts about this document’s authenticity, you have the assurance that it has been “verified by 3 colleges”. Of course, I don’t know the names of the 3 colleges, but if Ed Hale says so, it should be good enough for any of you nObamas out there.

If you want a password for the chat room/forum, then you will need to donate $100.00 to Plains Radio to help pay for this. It cost us $25,000.00 to get it and it has been verified by 3 colleges to be the orginal [sic] Birth Certificate of Obama. We will revel [sic] this location to all those present in the chat room and only those in the chat room will get to see it. Once we have recieved [sic] your donation, you must fill out the password request form. We must have both at the same time to make sure we have the right person. If everything is correct, we will send you a password.

I will post the paypal link on here on 3/31/10 at 9 am central – the 1st 500 people who pay $100.00 each will get to view the documnet [sic].

And he’ll find 500 people to go for it too. I’m in the wrong business…

  2. catbit says:

Why stop at 500? Hit up the tea baggers, and he could be set for life!

Hmm.. come to think of it, I have a box full of old documents I acquired from an elementary school in Indonesia a few years back… wonder what’s in there?

  3. nbc says:

Eventually he will have to show the document. What then? Will he provide refunds?

  4. YellowDog says:

To paraphrase P.T. Barnum, there is a sucker naturally born every minute.

  5. train111 says:

So with the spelling errors, I have to wonder if he means that the cert was verified by ‘three colleagues’ instead of ‘three colleges’
I wonder if those three colleagues aren’t Moe, Larry, and Curly

  6. misha says:

    “Will he provide refunds?”

Are you nuts? Why should he provide refunds for a genuine BC, carbon dated by THREE colleges. I found out which three: Liberty University, Regent, and Bob Jones.

Do you doubt this man? First, he would never misrepresent. He’s not a Jew like that Madoff. Second, he’s a Christian, unlike that Muslim in the White House. Third, he’s white. White Christians don’t steal. He’s as pure as the driven snow, just like David Duke.

And as soon as he’s raked in the 50 grand, he’s going to hightail it out of the country, before he’s shot by a disgruntled customer.

And the beauty of PayPal, is no one can contest the payment, like with a credit card. Once it’s sent, it’s over.

Refunds?! You cannot be serious. I’ll bet this guy used to be a carnival barker, and he’s missing most of his teeth.

  7. G says:

And let’s add another great old phrase that fits here too:

“A fool and his money are soon parted”

  8. misha says:

Oh, and he did not spend more than $100 to have it faked. 50 grand – ho ho ho.

    A fool and his money…

BTW, I was born in Mombasa. Here’s proof!

And my certificate is genuine, unlike the one he’s charging people to see. I’m showing it for free, because I am a Good Samaritan.

Actual fact: the Samaritans are a branch of Judaism, and most live in Israel. Google it.

  9. Black Lion says:

If you recall Ed was the guy that claimed that he had received the so called Kenyan BC before. He also claimed back in January of 2009 that he had the copy of the Obama Dunham divorce that proved that Obama was born in Kenya. Both times he conned the idiotic birthers out of cash and never delivered. So if they are stupid enough to give him more money for a fake document, then they deserve to be taken to the cleaners…

  10. richCares says:

Kenya has no restrictions on obtaining Birth Certificates, just pay the fee (around $10.00). Anybody can do this, save $90.00, bypass Hale and go direct to Kenya Embassy.
However, this is much too simple for a birther though!

    And they will…

  12. misha says:

It’s too easy. Besides, they’re in the conspiracy too. You have to go to the hospital in Mombasa, and get the real records. They’re the only ones who can be trusted, for the right price.

  13. misha says:

True story: all Three Stooges were Jewish. What other grown men would act that way?

  14. Black Lion says:

Remeber Ed Hale said this back in October of 2008…

“I guess the time has come to set the story about Obama Kenya Birth Certificate. I hosted Phil Berg on our No Obama Talk show on August 21, 2008. We then had Phil back on August 28, 2008. At that time I was contacted by one of the HCSFJM member by phone who told me that they were a importer/exporter and they had connection in Kenya. I talked to this person and also talk to Phil about it. We then discussed a plan on how to get the BC to the USA. We knew that Obama would do anything to stop this. We decide that Caren and I would be the decoy. We would announce that this BC would be shipped to Carens work place. Actually the BC was never coming to us. Our member was able to find the BC and it cost $1000.00 to get. There was 3 copies of the BC sent to the USA via 3 different carries to 3 different people.”

    And…

” There was 3 copies of the BC sent to the USA via 3 different carries to 3 different people. HCSFJM had a member very near Phil and this was the primary target. I received a email on September 14,2008 from our member. The email said “The packages are on their way”. I knew that the BC had been secured and was enroute to the USA. 3 days later I received another email that said “The package has been delivered”. I knew that our member had deliver the BC to Phil. In addition to Kenya BC, there is 3 certified statement from people who stated they were present when Obama was born.”

    http://ohforgoodnesssake.com/

So we have a guy that a different time claimed to have this so called Kenyan BC. It is amazing that people would believe anything that comes out of his mouth. But they would rather believe him than the state of HI when it comes to BC’s…I hope the birthers all go broke and get scammed by these idiots…

  15. Greg says:

    carbon dated by THREE colleges

Carbon-14 has a half-life of 5,730 years. Without getting into the physics, this translates to an uncertainty in the dating of anything by radiocarbon dating at about plus/minus 30-40 years.

So, if this BC carbon dates to 1961, that means that really, it could be as old as 1921 or as new as 2001.

  16. misha says:

“it could be as old as 1921 or as new as 2001.”

    Hush. It’s our secret.

  17. Greg says:

    Actually, my bad:

Because of excess 12C released into the atmosphere from the Industrial Revolution and excess 14C produced by atmospheric nuclear testing during the 1950s, materials less than 150 years old cannot be dated with radiocarbon (Faure 1998, 294).

What’s nice is the overlapping rings of stupid.

  18. misha says:

“materials less than 150 years old cannot be dated with radiocarbon”

That’s correct. Also, the portion that is tested is destroyed in the process. So if it was tested by THREE colleges, there would not be anything left to show to the gullible.

That’s why the Shroud Of Turin is not tested anymore.

  19. NoVa Skeptic says:

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL……

    Very well said!!!!

  20. Hawaiiborn says:

This is the money quote from his posting

[blockquote][b]Pay $100 and YOU can see this REAL Kenyan Birth Certificate, from Hawaii!” [/b][/blockquote]

A KBC from HAWAII. Idiot. My friend, who was born in the Philippines, has a Hawaii BC. Guess what it says on his location of birth section? Manila, Philippines. But its on a Certification of Live Birth short form from Hawaii.

all that the Department of Health did for his BC, was take the information on his original BC from the Philippines and copied it over to the normal short form that Hawaii gives out.

Love how he got a copy from a “retired Hawaii civil servant” – which is absolutely false. If he was “retired” then he wouldn’t have access to the files in the first place. And from Janice Okubo’s own testimony, she fields an office that has all of 4 workers including her. IM SURE she would know who in her office retired recently.

  21. Texlaw says:

Well, he added a few more details on his exciting radio show. This was the employee’s last day at work, whereupon he went into the vault and snatched it, and smuggled it out in his shirt.

So here we have an internet scam artist who concocts a story which, if we assume it to be true, has Ed Hale purchasing, possessing and offering for re-sale stolen property. What a maroon.

  22. misha says:

Knowingly trafficking in stolen goods. A nice felony.

You could not make this stuff up.

  23. Saint James says:

LOL…All Ed Hale has to do is wait for 8.33 hours to meet his 500 suckers quota! ha ha ha ha ha ha

  24. Saint James says:

    Moldavian?

  25. misha says:

Please. Orly nor Avigdor Lieberman have a shred of talent.

  26. Saint James says:

Greg, Ed Hale’s story is too early to be debunked. The pay pal button has not rang yet ha ha ha ha ha

Ed Hale simply wanted to glamorize his claim by using carbon dating to show proof of aunthenticity! I can’t help but laugh ha ha ha ha ha ha

  27. Hawaiiborn says:

Well, he added a few more details on his exciting radio show. This was the employee’s last day at work, whereupon he went into the vault and snatched it, and smuggled it out in his shirt.

Still, they would know who had access on his “last day”. That’s why this story is Full of it.

As big as government maybe, no one just can “walk into a vault” = THERE IS NO VAULT.
Anyone who has ever been to the Department of Health in Honolulu (it’s a green building on Punchbowl Street, across the Capitol Building – I should know, my aunt worked for the DoH in the 80’s), knows that there is no “vault”.

That already is a lie from the story.

I’ve gone to this building twice to get a copy of my BC (once in 1991 and once in 2006). There is no vault.

Again, the office is quite small; the department that handles the issuing of certificates has all of 20 people working there; most of them are clerks who are waiting on those who are requesting copies of their BC (they take the form requests, look up the information, send the request via computer and it prints it up). Its like a “post office” or the social security office. Windows manned by someone to help you.

So yes, they would “know” who was on their last day, and was in a place they didn’t belong; and by his “admittance” he just outed himself out (if its true).

  28. kimba says:

I believe it was $8,000 to get the Soetoro divorce papers. And then $10,000 to Steve Pidgeon to get the BC from the “port of entry”. Weren’t a lot of people asking what was gotten for the $10,000? How’s he going to get $50,000? When he doesn’t get to $50,000, he’ll tell everyone to stick it up their a$$ and he’ll quit again. If he gets $50,000, he’ll tell everyone to stick it up their a$$ and disappear. Didn’t he claim before the election he had a Hawaiian birth certificate that said Obama was born in Mombasa? Where has it been? In a coffee can buried in backyard? Buried with the Bigfoots he shot? If he has such document, why has he not contacted the FBI, or at least the RNC? What a con man.

  29. kimba says:

Well of course the story is bullsh!t. It’s Ed Hale we’re talking about here people.

  30. Scientist says:

I agree. To date documents of that vintage you would have to look at the type of paper, the chemical nature of the ink, the font, etc. I think you could tell a 1921 document from a 1961 or from a 2001, but certainly not by carbon dating. Anyway, no reputable college would have any interest in nonsense such as this.

I think the hardest thing for the birthers to realize is that no one who matters cares. They had their 15 minutes and didn’t do anything with it. Now it’s over.

  31. Rickey says:

This reminds me of the supposed Michelle Obama “whitey” tape which some birthers claimed to have. As I recall, it was going to be released to the public before then election, then it was going to be released before the inauguration, but somehow it never appeared.

  32. PaulG says:

I swear with that trial in Florida with Taitz, CEL3, Berg (and guest appearance by Lucas Duncan Smith, and introducing Bradford “I’m on the X-files” Cohen) so needed to end with the judge chasing the whole lot of them around the courthouse shooting at them with a shotgun while they went “whoo-whoop-oop”. I can see it like I was there.

  33. The Sheriff's A Ni- says:

You’re being too generous. The colleges are obviously Miskatonic, Huxley, and Whatsamatta U.

  34. PaulG says:

What’s nice is the overlapping rings of stupid.

    Dunderochronology?

  35. misha says:

And all three are represented by the law firm of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe. (bada-bing)

  36. misha says:

“then it was going to be released before the inauguration, but somehow it never appeared.”

That’s because Michelle contacted me, on my special number furnished by the Mossad, to destroy it before it fell into the wrong hands.

    I swear it’s true.

  37. Kathryn N says:

That’s an old right-wing trick. In the 90s they claimed to have a tape of Bill Clinton’s brother admitting that the president used cocaine. It was always just about to be released. Finally, it was “suppressed” by the evil Clinton machine.
    Everything old is new again.

  38. misha says:

Kathryn N: remember, Bush Sr’s WH flunkies went to the passport archives in Suitland, to find that paper of Clinton renouncing his US citizenship, when he was a Rhodes scholar.

They could not find it, because Obama’s agents had the foresight to destroy it.

  39. Kathryn N says:

Yes the conmen and the conned don’t seem to change. If there’s one thing every conman recognize it’s a good mark. And birthers are the perfect marks–ignorant, uneducated, riven with fear and prejudice. All the conman has to do is play them like a violin.

  40. SluggoJD says:

    Wow, who to root for?

Nutty Ed, aka Bugs, the world famous Bigfoot Murderer?

Or 100 other nutcases, foolish enough to hand Bugs $25K+ profit?

  41. richCares says:

Hale says that a retired person, on his last day snuck into te vault and took a copy. It cost Ed big bucks (he says).

I have been to that building, Hawaii Dept of Health. A clerk types in your request for a Birth Certificate and the lazer printer (in plain sigh) spews it out. There is no vault in the building! Those that fall for Ed’s scam deserve it!

  42. misha says:

But, but Phil says there’s a vault.

I love watching this mob feed on each other. Popcorn.

Any predictions when Orly is going to have her breakdown? I say when the Marshals come to collect the bill, she is going off the deep end.

  43. The one state vital records vault I have been in was in a nondescript building detached from the official offices of the health department. In one of her newspaper interviews Janice Okubo said that they didn’t destroy records, and of course Dr. Fukino says she consulted the original records. So I feel pretty confident that they exist, perhaps on microfilm, somewhere.

Given Ed Hale’s history, however, I think the chance that he has a copy of an authentic Obama hospital birth certificate are vanishingly small. I would love to get my hands on his document for a little forensic analysis of my own. If it IS a fake, I wonder if it is based on the one I did?

  44. Kathryn N says:

I’ll bet the birthers are picturing a huge bank-type vault with Obama’s birth certificate in the center on a raised platform, illuminated with blue light, protected by bulletproof glass and deadly lasers. Menacing music is, of course, playing in the background.

  45. bovril1 says:

AKA Goldfinger…”No Ms Taitz…I expect you to die….”

  46. Hawaiiborn says:

So I feel pretty confident that they exist, perhaps on microfilm, somewhere.

Actually, before Hawaii went completely to the short form (around the mid 80’s) you could get a copy of your long form , but it was printed from a microfiche, so you assume correctly. When we were consolidating my grandfather’s assets to finalize his will, we had to request a copy of his birth certificate and the copy he had in his possession was so deteriorated that the information on it was unreadable

But, he was born when Hawaii was still a territory, and not a state, so his long form stated as such. The copy we were given was white text on black.

All this Hawaii talk is making me anxious. I’ll be in Hawaii in April.

  47. kimba: Well of course the story is bullsh!t. It’s Ed Hale we’re talking about here people.

Yes, but exactly what kind of bullsh!t?

  48. Well, all he has to do is say he hasn’t gotten all the money and extend the time indefinitely.

  49. SluggoJD says:

    Time out.

Obama was born in 1961. Hawaii became a state in 1959.

  50. SluggoJD says:

Yikes, I need to learn how to read lol

Re: Breaking new on the Birth Certificate

    Question for ya here Ed…….

Given the importance of information that this document may contain, why would you go to a ‘college’ rather than someone with known expertise in document verification like the FBI, CIA or any of the other organizations that handle these types of things on a fairly regular basis?

    Just wondering……..

Hope it turns out the way we are hoping!

CG – that is a good question and I have a very simple answer. Who do all these agency work for? Obama. Now you know that these jackasses has this and they never released it. Do you trust our government? I sure don’t. The college that I pick to send this too are very much in the R colume. I felt that this way I could get the truth without the document beign exposed to someone who could destory it. You have got to realize that this is the ORIGINAL document. That means it is ONE OF A KIND AND CANNOT BE REPRODUCED. I am taking no chances with this document. I remeber what happen on the 1964 Obama vs Obama divorce decree and how it was stolen from me. This will not happen with this.State Texas

  66. TRUTH says:

FUnny, so far what I’ve read of everyones responses is focused on Ed Hale having a Document, which you SHOULD be addressing as valid being Obama bowers. But your replies are mostly about Mr. Hale and his making a profit, nothing about this could be what shuts up the Neysayers. It’s as if nobody in here expects it to POSSIBLY be an authentic copy…or, it could be your hesitant to say anything for fear what you will see. Most of you are just weird how you dance around the BC subject, NEVER saying Man I wish we could see it and move on. Of course usually whenever someone says that, the next words out of your mouths are “nothing will satisfy the birthers, they will just look for something else after that..” That’s such a weak comment, it half reminds me of when you have nothing else to defend with you pull the race card, that ALWAYS applies.

  67. TRUTH says:

I guess Hale did not in that small paragraph at least say where this BC came from. He only stated it is verified original, for whatever that’s worth. I wouldn’t give that clown $1.00 to see it, well maybe I would dollar, but no more. I listened to his show once, and that was once to many. He allowed some FOOL woman talking so much unsubstantiated garbage I couldn’t stand to hear her. It’s been so long now I even forget the subject, but I do recall thinking “this show’s like the Clampets’ go Live”.

  68. G says:

There is NO birth certificate smoking gun it is

    1. The fervid imaginings of the dank and squalid minds of the birther mob

    2. The vehicle for a con man to squeeze PayPal buckes from the cretinous followers of no. 1

Of course if you are SOOOOO sure it’s the real deal, feel free to hand over $100 to the con man, bend and brace semi-optional.

  70. Greg says:

Two reasons why we’re not concerned about the BC:

    A. The odds of there being a BC that shows a non-Hawaiian birth are a million to 1.

    B. This BC, like all the others, is being put out there by a fraud, with zero credibility.

Think of it as a sliding scale, as the likelihood of an authentic document goes down, the need for a credible proponent goes up.

You’ve got proof of extraterrestrial intelligence? I’m going to believe you on your say-so only if you’re Lawrence Lessig or Judge Posner.

In order to reach the finish line, Ed Hale will have to release the document to the entire nation after selling the initial views and don’t you think then those that paid will be beyond pissed? Further, if he is only trying to get his money back, then why is trying to make another $25,000 off of this venture? Last, but not least, Ed Hale can’t keep his lies straight. First he’s paid $25,000 for this that’s why he has to get his money back, then if it’s not authentic he’s out $36,000, last he states this “IT WILL NOT COST US ANYTHING UNLESS IT IS THE REAL DEAL So we have nothing to lose and all to gain.” The man is a scam artist and people who send him a dime are idiots. What will happen is that he won’t get the money, he’ll get mad and he won’t release the document OR return anyone’s money. That’s my prediction.

  75. BatGuano says:

Well, all he has to do is say he hasn’t gotten all the money and extend the time indefinitely.

or just say that you weren’t one of ” the 1st 500 people who pay $100.00 each ” that get to view the documnet.

also the whole registration/payment set up seems….. well like a set-up.
“Once we have recieved your donation, you must fill out the password request form.” so you send in your $100 donation first then you fill out the registration.

“We must have both at the same time to make sure we have the right person.” do i send the registration at the same time i send the cash?

“I will post the paypal link on here on 3/31/10 at 9 am central…” so the earliest i could send the cash is march 31 ( which needs to go either before or with the registration ).

“We have extended the registration period for a few more days.” they are now asking me to send in my registration ??? before i’m able to send my money on the 31st ??? but……. that’s the opposite of what they just asked me to do.

i’ve got a feeling those that complain will get a ” you didn’t follow the procedure ” excuse.

  76. Scientist says:

Excellent Misha- I never needed to see the COLB to know that Obama was born, as just about every baby is, near where his parents, and most especially his mother, lived. How do I know this? I’m thinking about what my wife would have said if I came to her when she was 8 months pregnant and said, “Honey, why don’t you go have this baby in Africa?” Heavily pregnant women in 1st world countries just don’t leave their parents and women friends and go to a 3rd world country to give birth. Not credible.

On the other hand, if like Sarah Palin’s mother they lived 50 miles from the border with Canada, a country with excellent health care, where their family was accustomed to going to receive treatment, well, I could believe she might take a short car trip to have her baby in Canada. It is really long past time for Sarah to address this issue and open up her personal records.

  77. misha says:

Excellent point. Two can play that game.

  78. That was pretty thorough! I would just add that in 1961 grandparents couldn’t file birth registrations.

  79. misha says:

Thank you. I will add to it.

  80. nbc says:

That was pretty thorough! I would just add that in 1961 grandparents couldn’t file birth registrations.

I’d love to hear more about this.

  81. nbc: I’d love to hear more about this.

    I was mistaken. Sorry.

  82. I was mistaken. Sorry.

  83. thisoldhippie says:

Question: Are these people oblivious to the fact that if a document is stolen it cannot be admissable in a court of law? How would you authenticate it if it is not certified and/or the official record keeper is not able to testify as to its authenticity because the chain of evidence has been broken? All the “carbon dating testing” in the world wouldn’t make a document such as this any more admissable.

  84. nbC says:

    I am sorry too 🙂

  85. Scientist says:

    I was mistaken. Sorry.

See, Mario, that’s what a real mensch does. You correct your errors and move on.

  86. misha says:

“that’s what a real mensch does”

    Todah rebah, landsman.

  87. aarrgghh says:

    thisoldhippie, rhetorically, i presume:

“are these people oblivious to the fact that if a document is stolen it cannot be admissable in a court of law … because the chain of evidence has been broken?”

i think we all know the answer to that one.

  88. aarrgghh says:

btw, it would be the “chain of custody” that’s been broken.

  89. PaulG says:

When converting 1961 british prices to modern US, are you converting using the 1961 exchange rate or the modern one? It was a bit higher in the 60’s vs. now. (2.8 vs 1.5 I believe)

  90. KenyanBorn says:

    Misha is a racist santi-semite?

Not surprising. Just like the rest of the racist Obamonkey supporters.

Why does Obamonkey hate white people?

  91. misha says:

“Why does Obamonkey hate white people?”

    We also hate leprechauns.

  92. SFJeff says:

    And puppies

  93. misha says:

    And guppies.

  94. bovril1 says:

Don’t even get me on Yuppies

  95. Rickey says:

Of course, one would expect that by now word of Hale’s claims have gotten back to Hawaii, so officials there would know if the so-called “vault copy” of Obama’s birth certificate is missing. Transporting stolen property over state lines is a Federal offense, so the FBI would be all over Ed Hale in the blink of an eye. The people at Hale’s alleged “colleges” would be accessories to the crime.

So of course it is a scam. The only interesting part will be to see how it plays out.

  96. G says:

And Killer Clowns from Outer Space!

  97. tom says:

No “birth certificate” necessary. Need do nothing more than take the man at his word that he is the son of B.O. Sr. B.O. Sr was NOT an immigrant to the U.S. NON-immigrant, foreigners are not permitted to install their off-spring as Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces. Duh. Any child figures this out in a min only the heavily biased , deeply prejudiced adult struggles so mightily with the very simple concept. The first natural born citizens of the new nation are the first children born of the first pledged citizens

  98. aarrgghh says:

tom, struggling so mightily with the very simple concept:

“… foreigners are not permitted to install their off-spring as Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces. “

talk to the hand, my friend.

    duh.

  99. misha says:

“NON-immigrant, foreigners are not permitted to install their off-spring as Commander-in-Chief”

    Uh, oh.

  100. misha says:

“So of course it is a scam.”

Hale is the best grifter I’ve seen in a long time. He has a lot of time on his hands, in the Texas panhandle, to cook up this stuff.

  101. Scientist says:

Hale is committing a crime either way. If it’s real (it isn’t) then he’s an accessory to theft and transporting stolen property. If it’s fake (it is) then he’s guilty of wire/mail fraud.

  102. Scientist says:

Why do birthers “take the man at his word” when he says his father was from Kenya, when they consider everything else he says to be a lie? Shouldn’t you demand iron-clad proof of Barack Obama Sr’s citizenship and require that paternity be established through DNA testing before you make your argument (which is wrong anyway)?

  103. misha says:

    “he’s guilty of wire/mail fraud.”

Exactly. So why aren’t these clowns prosecuted?

  104. Black Lion says:

The better question is how do we know if Obama Sr. never became a citizen of the US? We have never been provided with any proof that he never became a citizen. Maybe he got married to become a citizen. So your point is valid. The birthers believe what Obama says which helps their case and ignores what hinders their case. Interesting. And then we have the troll “Tom”, who comes along kind of like Sven and his sock puppets and just makes a wild statement in order to try and get people riled up. I guess when you have no facts to support your claims you just resort to whatever you can in order to disrupt things…

  105. PaulG says:

Thank you for the insight into the mind of a heavily biased, deeply prejudiced adult.

  106. BatGuano says:

NON-immigrant, foreigners are not permitted to install their off-spring as Commander-in-Chiefof the United States Armed Forces.Duh.

” i’ll take chester a. arthur in the center square for the win, tom.”

  107. SFJeff says:

“Any child figures this out in a min only the heavily biased , deeply prejudiced adult struggles so mightily with the very simple concept”

So I asked my 11 year old daughter who she thought was eligible to be President- and she said “Daddy, anyone born here can grow up to be President- we are always being told this”

Children apparently have a much clearer picture of who is eligible to be President than Tom.

  108. SFJeff says:

Or what if Obama Sr. secretely became a U.S. Citizen? And lied to his son about because of the repercussions in Kenya if anyone found out he had become a U.S. citizen. Birthers certainly need to prove that Obama Sr. never secretely became a U.S. citizen.

  109. misha says:

And Sarah Palin needs to prove she was born in the States, not 50 miles away in Canada, which had better facilities than her town, thanks to socialized medicine.

  110. Makes sense. The original plan was for Obama to usurp the British PM.

  111. tom says:

Absolutely, I am all for verifying the identity of his parents. If you think you can get this done then by all means; get it done. Absent this evidence what choice have I got but to accept the popularly held version of the nativity story.

  112. tom says:

Chester Arthur does not set precedent. His father’s status, at the time of his son’s birth, was not known to the public. Arthur worked overtime and was successful in his efforts to keep hidden the facts surrounding his father’s arrival in this country.

  113. tom says:

Thank you. You are so dumb you just made my point for me, even more powerfully with this silly account . Oh..you know what? I had better give the poor, pathetic soul a little hint: Examine how you’ve constructed/phrased the big question posed to your put-upon; previously tutored/ contaminated(by your own admission) child

  114. tom says:

The prejudiced dummy(not an insult- merely an accurate assessment of the individual’s limitations based upon his obvious impairment)above states:
“Children apparently have a much clearer picture of who is eligible to be President than Tom.”
Tom’s reply: Not if you, as the adult, obscure it ie are incapable of presenting the issue to them in an unbiased, non-prejudicial manner
You really ought have a little more respect for the intellectual wherewithal of the average 11-12 yrs old. Trust me, most of them can handle it. Now, try again. Can you think of an honest question that would prompt an answer from your daughter as to what truly constitutes an Article II “natural born citizen? Come on…. you can do it

  115. tom says:

And…what was it about my “wild statement” that got YOU so “riled up”? ….exactly Could it be …hmmm…something like; the fact that it held truth.

  116. tom: [Chester A. Arthur’s] was not known to the public.

    You don’t know that.

tom: Arthur worked overtime and was successful in his efforts to keep hidden the facts surrounding his father’s arrival in this country.

If he worked overtime doing this, why is there no trace in the historical record?

    And you call us “dumb”.

  117. Black Lion says:

So you perfer to believe the part of the so called “nativity story” regarding the fact his father was Kenyan and never became a citizen but choose not to believe that he was born in HI and is according to US Law a natural born citizen? You need to let us know what parts you choose to believe and not believe so that we can be a bit more clear. Because under your so called burden of proof we could never know if any prior President’s parents were citizens or not be cause there was no “verification” performed…

  118. misha says:

A natural born citizen is anyone born naturally. That is everyone except C-sections (MacBeth), immaculate conceptions like Hercules (father Zeus, mother human), and in vitro. Let’s look at Obama:

    C-section? no
    Immaculate conception? Most likely not.
    In vitro? no

Bingo – he’s good to go.

  119. SFJeff says:

Tom, since we are taking of the gloves here- you are an idiot.

You posited that any child could understand this in a minute but when I asked an actual child that exact question you of course- as all birthers do- say the answer is tainted- and impugn me and my child.

Let me write this slowly for you. When I was a child, I was taught by my very conservative, evangelical Christian civics teacher that in order to be eligible to be President, that a candidate must be a natural born citizen- which he defined as being born in the United States. Nothing about ‘citizen’ parents, nothing about Vattel- this conservative and the textbooks we were using agreed- being born in the United States meant a natural born citizen.

Fast forward to 2008. Candidate Obama writes two books talking about his Kenyan father. His opponents spread malicious rumors about him regarding his Kenyan roots and his father’s Muslim background. So there was no secret that his father was Kenyan. And 69 million Americans voted for him. The Electoral College voted him in. Congress confirmed him. Chief Justice Roberts swore him in.

But Tom- brilliant Tom- he knows that all of those folks are “poor, pathetic souls” and are contaminated- brilliant Tom know more than other Americans- brilliant Tom understands those things that 99% of Americans don’t understand.

Brilliant Tom- convinced that he understands what a Natural Born Citizen is, and 69 million voters are poor pathetic souls. Only Brilliant Tom can save us all from ourselves, and what we were taught, and believe, and save us from the President we voted in.

Luckily President Obama is actually President and Brilliant Tom just comes off as spouting insincere nonsense that the President can and should ignore.

  120. misha says:

    Hey, Tom – answer this:

Did Glenn Beck rape and murder a girl in 1990? He never denied it.

  121. JoZeppy says:

So let’s see…Arthur worked overtime to hide the fact his father wasn’t a citizen, but you provide no evidence that he ever tried to hide the fact…can you quote one single book or academic article that discusses it? Funny, his opponents went to great lenghts to try to spread rumors that he was born in Canada, but never looked into his father’s birth place…I wonder why? Also, despite the fact that it is well known that Arthur’s father wasn’t a citizen, not a single book, law journal article, or other academic writing discussing the legal impact of this fact has ever been written? I wonder why that would be?

It couldn’t be that all you need to be a natural born citizen is to be born in the US….nah…that would make FAR too much sense.

  122. misha says:

“It couldn’t be that all you need to be a natural born citizen is to be born in the US….nah…that would make FAR too much sense.”

    There are three NBC tests:

Is Obama from a C-section? no (MacBeth)
Is Obama an immaculate conception? (Hercules)
Is Obama from in vitro? no

So he’s good to go – a real NBC. Simple.

  123. Rickey says:

    tom says:

Can you think of an honest question that would prompt an answer from your daughter as to what truly constitutes an Article II “natural born citizen?

I can tell you what a right-wing, evangelical Christian home-schooling textbook says about it:

Anyone born within the fifty states or American-held territories (Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the District of Columbia) is considered a native-born citizen.

“American Government and Economics in Christian Perspective,” Beka Book Publications, p. 96

There are no qualifiers about the citizenship of the parents. Of course, this particular textbook was written in 1984, when it never occurred to anyone that one day we might elect a black president with a foreign-sounding name.

Incidentally, the textbook cites Blackstone five times. Vattel, not so much (as in ZERO times).

  124. G says:

    WTF? “nativity story”?

I fail to see what Jesus’ birth from over 2000 years ago has to do with whatever meaningless witch hunt you think you’re pursuing here.

  125. misha says:

What I want to know is, what does the Talmud have to say about Obama’s birth circumstances?

  126. Rickey, thanks for that citation. I’d really like to hear from anyone else who has a contemporary Civics text that addresses the question.

  127. Arliss says:

When it comes time to produce a document he will produce a copy of President Obama’s BC that has been available at Politifact, Factcheck and other sites since before the general election. The BC provided by Obama himself.

  128. nbC says:

    Exactly…

  129. Hawaiiborn says:

Just a quick update, Ed Hale has now rescinded and will NOT be showing the BC (as if that was hard to guess)

    http://pub44.bravenet.com/forum/static/show.php?usernum=3764075825&frmid=6712&msgid=1115467&cmd=show

After much thought and pain. I have decided to sell this document. So I am sorry but money talks and bull**** walks. One of the reason for my decision is like what the American Grand Jury said about me. These people have done nothing to help the cause of removing Obama. The show tonight will be nothing but music and I will not talk about it. Obama has won and it is over. I will take my money and ride off into the sunset. So after tonight show, it will just be Joe Saebi. Goodbye and goodluck

And the AGJ posts a badly research article on Hawaii COLB’s

    http://americangrandjury.org/this-is-what-a-real-hawaiian-long-form-birth-certificate-looks-like

never mind that the Long form they use is from 1949 and it says “Territory of Hawaii”
Never mind that they use a 1981 printed COLB to say that a COLB printed in 2006 would be the same…

  130. Expelliarmus says:

Sometimes the conclusion seems inescapable: birthers are just really, really, really stupid.

  131. Given the demographics on Orly’s site, perhaps they are senile.

  132. Hawaiiborn says:

And it was all an April fools joke
I wont link to the posts on his forums, but he revealed it as an April Fools joke there.

And now his “followers” are little more than pissed

  133. Black Lion says:

Even more interesting is the comments regarding Ed’s “decision” of not releasing the so called “document”. Look at the one commenter who actually seems to be rational and the immediate response by the people that hate the President….

Re: The Obama BC will not be released

Look, I respect you guys as Americans. I know you love this country as much as we do.

Have you considered that you may be imputing motives to the president that he doesn’t have? Has it ever occurred to you that he may just be what he says he is? A liberal? Not a commie. Not a usurper. Not the anti-Christ. Just a run of the mill, help the poor liberal?

Sit back and think about it.
