It has to be true. A guy said it and it’s bad about President Obama.

i will be thrilled to finally find hofffa

Now there’s the perfect mark for a DIY birther case kit. Paging Jerry.
You’ve got a live one. There’s your meal ticket for the next few years.

Makes as much sense as anything else the birthers say.

That’s ridiculous. Hoffa’s remains are under Giants Stadium. Everyone knows that.

With all the complaining about birther cases clogging courts, it helps provide some perspective. Birther litigitation is unique in being a fad, in seeing nearly identical suits in dozens of jurisdictions …. but not at all unique in terms of being frivolous. Quite tame, really.

I was wondering how he filed 5000 cases by age 35, until I got to the prison line! Ah-ha! And it was for identity theft …. LOL!

    Lucas is such a piker.

But how will Riches file 5000 more in the next 10 yrs as a free man? He must intend to re-offend 😉

  10. LMK says:

I saw this headline and thought “Orly did it; she filed a challenge in Oregon and I get to see her in action!”. Alas, it’s another wacko birfer suing over a lake.

Johnathan just isn’t as captivating as Orly. :o(

  11. elmo says:

Let’s be fair. This isn’t really any wackier than any of the “mainstream” birther theories.

It is a real lake. The 1% in Portland live in the community of Lake Oswego. The lake nicely serves to separate them form us. Use your imagination-what could they have hidden there. My husband and I leave on Tuesday for our annual “spoil the grandchildren ” visit. We could look around I suppose.

  17. Jack says:

Why did it took him 2.5 years to release the long form?
How can the original long form have been scanned when the responsible in hawaii said they no longer had the original since it went electronic?
If the off-the-shelf scanner is the main reason for the multiple layers and forgery aspects of the scan, why the background has been changed to fit the first layer of the entire page?
How can an off-the-shelf scanner rotate, reposition of letters, numbers and signatures and change the colors that are side by side in the entire document by itself?
Why did they “killed osama bin laden” with no proof whatsoever right when this issue was being the center of all the attention?

You have all said it already and its what obama keeps saying, “lets stop focusing in things that dont matter and focus on the bigger issues”.

If I had a president that was not born in my country and had been leading us to constant wars and propragate bankrupcy with lies and fear, I would want to see this birth certificate issue to the freaking end. Ask them to do the same scanning with another birth certificate, I promise you the result will not be anything like obama’s, it is as simple as that.

  18. Thrifty says:

Jack: Why did it took him 2.5 years to release the long form?

Probably because the certificate of live birth (COLB) released in 2008 was the birth certificate, prima facie evidence of the fact of birth. The long form was not necessary at all because any sane person, or any court of law, or any sort of legal authority anywhere which needed proof of the president’s birth place and date, would accept the COLB. Because that’s what the official birth document is in Hawaii. If you were born in Hawaii and you ask for a birth certificate, that’s what you get.

The better question would be not, “why did it take so long?” but rather “why did he release it at all?” Like I said, the COLB was good enough for any place where it mattered. The only place it didn’t matter were conspiracy theorists and ungovernable malcontents who weren’t going to vote for Barack Obama anyway. A smart man does not expend too much effort trying to please people who hate his guts.

The answer to “why did he release to long form at all” is fairly clear. Donald Trump used his fame and influence to bring Birtherism into the spotlight. It started to dominate the news. This bothered President Obama, who wanted to discuss actual issues instead of idiotic conspiracy theories. So he sent an official letter, via his personal attorney, to the directors of the Hawaii Department of Health saying, basically “Hey guys, I know that normally you only release the COLB when someone asks for a birth certificate, but I also know that you have it in your laws that the director of the Department of Health can make special exceptions with the permission of the person whose birth certificate it is. These Birthers are being a pain in my ass, and I know they’re being a pain in your ass, so be a pal and use that discretionary power to make the exception.”

So they did, and the long form was released. Predictably, it was immediately attacked as a forgery by a bunch of self-proclaimed experts whose investigative techniques are basically “Here are some mundane facts about the PDF copy of the birth certificate. These mundane facts indicate forgery.”

President Obama, at the press conference where the long form was released, said “We don’t have time for carnival barkers.” (or something like that). One of my favorite things about Birtherism after this was how butthurt the Birthers acted. They spend so much time calling him a usurper, a thief, a liar, a criminal–any number of vile names. Some don’t even stop there and go on to calling his dead mother a prostitute. Yet he calls them a name after years of harassment, and they’re all like “Big meanie is calling me names!!!”

  19. Hawaii never said such a thing. Dr. Fukino in 2008 said the original was on file.

“We don’t destroy vital records,” Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said. “That’s our whole job, to maintain and retain vital records.”

…In 2001, Hawai’i’s paper documents were reproduced in electronic format but “any paper data prior to that still exists,” Health Department spokeswoman Okubo said.

    Honolulu Advertiser 7/28/2009

Dr Fuddy said she saw the record. Dr. Onaka saw the record. Other accounts mention the certificate in a bound volume. Hawaii went paperless, meaning that since 2001 standard birth certificates are issued from the computer system, but they never said that the destroyed the original records.

So now you know that your concern is groundless.

Jack: How can the original long form have been scanned when the responsible in hawaii said they no longer had the original since it went electronic?

  20. I have no idea what you’re talking about, but if it’s like all the other birther long-form objections the explanation is a defect in the birther making the claim.

Jack: If the off-the-shelf scanner is the main reason for the multiple layers and forgery aspects of the scan, why the background has been changed to fit the first layer of the entire page?
How can an off-the-shelf scanner rotate, reposition of letters, numbers and signatures and change the colors that are side by side in the entire document by itself?

  21. What war are we in that were not already in when Obama took office? I think “lies and fear” comes from the opponents of Obama, like your comment about wars here.

You seem to be a fairly ignorant fellow. Perhaps you should focus on staying alive rather than trying to derail the thinking of other people.

Jack: If I had a president that was not born in my country and had been leading us to constant wars and propragate (sic) bankrupcy (sic) with lies and fear

    Dr. Conspiracy:

He’s also doing something that I’ve seen a lot of other birthers do, which is equate eligibility with their approval of the President’s polciies. In other words, they hate the President and disagree with his policies therefore he must be ineligible.

  23. donna says:

“Why did it took him 2.5 years to release the long form?”

show me where that long form would be acceptable to obtain a passport

does it comply with what the state dept requires?

i could see if obama released the long form first – that would have allowed questions as to the raised seal and other state dept requirements

but he didn’t – he released what hawaii produced as “prima facie evidence” to be used “in any court proceeding” – what ny & ri (2 name 2) have produced for decades ….. a short form

ask trump to show his KIDS’ birth certificates – they were born in the 70s and in the 70s (forward) ny produced short forms

ask trump to show his hospital records – the spokesperson from his hospital said they don’t keep records once the person turns 21

why is the piece of crap romney produced acceptable to the birthers?

imagine if obama had done that

for someone just dropped into the us from another planet, this issue appears nothing more than hate & racism – there is no other excuse

a skinny, mixed race guy, with a foreign born father, dared to take my seat at that prestigious prep school, occidental, columbia and harvard law for god’s sake – my seat and now the white house? how is that possible without fraud and affirmative action?

gallup recently released a poll where the headline was “Many Americans Can’t Name Obama’s Religion”

gatewaypundit’s headline was “Only 34% of Americans Believe Obama Is Christian …(66% Must Be Racist)”

other headlines also used that “34%'” figure

the real headline should have been “44% don’t know obama’s religion”

    that 34% didn’t even include catholics …. add 2%

11% said muslim – maybe that should have been the headline

    8% said none

there is no evidence that indicates obama is ineligible but, for that alien from another planet (and the rest of us) there’s a ton of credible evidence that proves the contrary

  24. JPotter says:

Dr. Conspiracy: I have no idea what you’re talking about, but if it’s like all the other birther long-form objections the explanation is a defect in the birther making the claim.

Yes, and the defect is ignorance. Like most, he’s probably done a scan or two in his time, with simple, generic hardware and software that scans everything to nice JPEG files. The realities of document management systems in office settings are beyond his experience. He has scanned something, the WH LFBC PDF has aspects he is unfamiliar with, all scans should be like his scans, as hi scanning experience is the end-all and be-all of scanning.

To peel back the curtain, here’s my stock response I started using in March. By no means exhaustive, just meant as a hint that there’s is way more to scanworld than typical birther has been initiated into. And no, I don’t think any of them understand it.

Best served with a hint of “Oh, what an effin’ idiot you are …”

The WH LFBC PDF contains evidence of mixed raster compression. In order to maximize compression while maintaining decent legibility, elements of the image have been separated by arbitrary image-processing algorithms. Elements identified as text have been extracted, reduced to 1-bit color depth, and save at 300dpi as a bitmap. The overall background has been treated as a photographic image, and recorded at 8-bit color depth, at 150dpi, as a highly-compressed JPEG. Thus, the legibility of a 300dpi file is maintained, at just over a low-quality, 150dpi file size.

Dr. Conspiracy: What war are we in that were not already in when Obama took office?

Well, let’s see, he did outsource that Libya thing … and has continued existing conflicts, seriously intensifying the assassination campaign. He has managed to far surpass the military achievements of his predecessor at an infinitesimal sliver of the cost in blood or treasure. Better results at less expense, leaves his opponenets not a leg to stand on.

So they appropriate the criticism leveled against his predecessor … “Dang it, we were promised he would suck at this! …. uhhhh … he gets us into wars all the time?” LOL! Crippling cognitive dissonance.

A better criticism would be of moves he hasn’t made …. not bombing Iran, not diving into Syria, not occupying northern Mexico …. but those criticisms only stick if you’re a paranoid, myopic, reactionary, warmongering fool, which Obama is not. Keep an eye on the long game.

Well another frustrating thing for Obama’s opponents is that he has, as far as I remember followed exactly what he promised in his campaign regarding foreign policy:
    a) Getting out of Iraq
    b) Focusing on Afghanistan
    c) Pursuing Terrorist wherever they are- including Pakistan
    d) Getting Osama Bin Ladin

Meanwhile, McCain had promised the U.S. would support Georgia against Russia…..

I like John McCain but when I look at how our foreign policy has turned out- I am really glad we elected Barack Obama.

Mind you- Obama has done much less than I had hoped in regards to Israel/Palestine and Africa.

Sorry for wandering abit off topic Doc.
