Not a birther issue, but I’m kind of amused at the tantrum Ted Cruz is throwing. I think reading Green Eggs and Ham on the Senate floor is gonna be remembered as his version of Howard Dean’s scream. Seriously, if you’re out of stuff to say, its time to pack it up and leave. Reminds me of how my four year old likes to invent new excuses so she doesn’t have to go to bed at night. If Cruz gets the 2016 nod, I will be genuinely surprised.

“I think reading Green Eggs and Ham on the Senate floor is gonna be remembered as his version of Howard Dean’s scream.”

Funny thing about the reading of, “Green Eggs and Ham,” made by Cruz. The unnamed character (and narrator) was defiant against liking Green Eggs and Ham until he had actually tried them. Then he suddenly liked them very much.

When the moral of a Dr Seuss tale escapes your notice, can you really be trusted with your conclusions on something as complicated as the ACA?

To bring the subject back on topic, I have noticed that every single tragic incident in this country, and a few events outside the country, are now seen to be a “false flags,” or “Government cover-ups,” by the current birther movement. Often, these events are said to occur to cover-up some great moment in birther history, like the release of the CCP information, court cases, book releases, etc.

    Shootings/Attacks:

    – Ft. Hood
    – Co. Theater shooting
    – Sandyhook
    – Boston Bombing
    – The Naval Yard

    Tragedies:

    – BP Oil Spill
    – Breitbart Death
    – a variety of Tornadoes and Hurricanes

    Foreign Events:

    – Egypt
    – Benghazi
    – Syria
    – Bin Laden raid
    – Mall attack in Kenya

… and so many others that it is hard to keep track of it all. These are all somehow managed by “crisis actors,” military ops, a variety of Government agencies (both real and imagined), and a cabal of other nefarious groups, organizations, and foreign agencies or governments. All while keeping their absolute silence of their involvement, and the media being in cahoots with the whole thing.

I call this the, “Everything But the Kitchen Sink Conspiracy.”

At the risk of being accused of Alinskyite Ridicule, I hereby highly recommend the always-hilarious Scott at the always-hilarious World-o’-Crap blog, who has written a great article about Larry Klaaaayman and the latest downfall of the Kenyan Usurper.

Stuff like that is why I don’t feel an ounce of pity when a birther mentions that they are going through a hardship, or something has happened to a member of their family. Sorry, but I won’t feel bad for someone who calls a dead child’s family “paid government actors”.

My take on the current state of Birtherdom, is that they’ve been very hard up for new material lately. I mean more-so than usual! At birther report, there’s been a record high of repeats, recycling news and videos, from sometimes three years ago or earlier, its almost like they’re running out of things to say. I guess there are only so many ways one can say “Someone make the scary black man get out of our nice white house!”

I kind of miss the old days, when I would check out Jack Ryan’s page at Scribd and there would be new material on a near-daily basis. I just checked and the last thing he posted was the defendant’s response in Taitz v. Colvin nine days ago.

On the other hand, if you look hard enough you can always find something.

I liken birther rally numbers to the zombie game Dead Rising.

It’s not just birthers… conspiracists of all stripes are down for chirping “false flag.” “Tragic” is the key word though. The plane crash in SF wasn’t tragic enough for the false flaggers… only two people died, one of whom WAS killed by the government ironically enough. And it WAS an inside job… the Feds mandated changes to the runway that were implemented not long before the crash and probably SAVED a bunch of lives.

But I think Alex Jones et al NEED to chirp “false flag” at EVERY tragedy now. He gets tons of publicity, no pushback from his believers… and it doesn’t bring up questions about why one tragedy is called a false flag and another isn’t. If an event is tragic enough, it’s good for business to call it a false flag.

OllieOxenFree: I have noticed that every single tragic incident in this country, and a few events outside the country, are now seen to be a “false flags,” or “Government cover-ups,” by the current birther movement.

They have embraced that particular conspiracy movement which attributes *every* event in the world to the workings of the Almighty Conspiracy.

It’s understandable, because they cannot possibly accept that all these things (including people voting for the black guy TWICE) happen just because that’s the way life is. They need to see evil forces behind every corner to reconcile that particular dissonance between the real world and their perceived world.

I wonder how long until we will read the words “Illuminati” and “Zionists” from birthers on a regular basis.

The thing that amuses me isn’t the “everything’s a false flag” claims but their additional claims of “and a destraction from…”, because by now so many things have been “false flags” that even the “enlightened” birthers no longer remember what the initial thing was that needed destraction.
They continually switch between “X is a destraction from Benghazi” and “Benghazi was a destraction from Y” (the birth certificate, the two citizen parents, Sheriff Joe, the ballot challenge in … etc.).

Pin things on Obama that he had nothing to do with, of course! http://obamareleaseyourrecords.blogspot.com/2013/09/warning-obamas-links-to-al-qaeda-and.html
In Corsi’s mind Obama is Kenyan, and therefore anything bad that happens in Kenya, must be Obama’s fault!

I agree…one of the most upsetting things about birthers and other conspiracy theorists is their utter lack of empathy for the very people they claim to be defending: the victims of tragedy.

They divide people into three categories: investigators, conspirators, and dupes. That leaves no room for victims and honest, ordinary people. It is a poor way to divide the world.

Save the date: Conservative activist says Obama will be overthrown Nov. 19

Judicial Watch founder Larry Klayman wrote Monday that the president had been indicted Sept. 18 by a citizens grand jury in Ocala, Fla., and convicted by a people’s court of defrauding voters by using a false birth certificate to prove his eligibility for office.

Klayman said Obama waived his right to a jury trial by failing to plead a response to the indictment, thus “thumbing his nose at We The People.”

“Of course, Obama will not willingly obey the law of the people,” Klayman wrote. “He will attempt to hide behind the iron fences of the White House, perhaps cowering under his desk for fear that the people will rise up and demand his ouster.”

Klayman said that day could be Nov. 19, when he’s calling on “millions of Americans who have been appalled and disgusted by Obama’s criminality – his Muslim, socialist, anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, anti-white, pro-illegal immigrant, pro-radical gay and lesbian agenda — among other outrages” to march on Washington and demand the president resign or face prison time.

There is a magazine, published in New Zealand, called “UNCENSORED”. Its a conspiracy fanmag.

The cover story for the June-September 2013 issue is:

“Mass Terror Attacks: ALL INSIDE JOBS? – 9/11 was an Inside Job – Boston was an Inside Job – Oklahoma was an Inside Job – Sandy Hook was an Inside Job – London (7/7) was an Inside Job – TWA Flight 800 was an Inside Job – Aurora, Colorado was an Inside Job – JFK Assassination was an Inside Job – Deepwater Horizon was an Inside Job – etc, etc, etc.”

That ‘etc, etc, etc’ is actually on the cover.

I can’t find any article in the magazine that discusses the assertions on the cover. There is an article about Boston, and about the us of Atomic Weapons on 9/11 (as if everybody didn’t know about that one!), but not any of the others.

It also accuses Christopher Monckton of actively participating in the “Chem Trails/Geo Engineering” coverup. Whooda thunk it?

Not only that, we are falling away from core Christian values. I don’t know about you, but I believe in the Jesus who died to save himself, not enable lazy followers to be dependent on him. He didn’t walk around all willy nilly just passing out free healthcare to those who were sick, or food to those who were hungry, or clothes to those in need. No, he said get up, brush yourself off, go into town and get a job, and as he hung on the cross he said,”I died so that I may live in eternity with my Father. If you want to join us you can die for yourself and your own sins. What do I look like, your savior or something?” That’s the Jesus I want to see brought back into our core values as a nation. That’s why we need to repeal Obamacare.”

Essentially, the Republicans in Congress are anti-democracy. They repeatedly refuse to allow up or down votes on legislation which they don’t like. In the Senate they use the filibuster; in the House, the Speaker simply refuses to bring legislation to a vote.

There is a general consensus that if the Senate’s continuing resolution were brought to a vote in the House it would pass, because there are enough moderate Republicans who would vote with the Democrats. But Boehner won’t bring it up for a vote because he knows that it would pass.

You’ve probably heard something about the RWNJs who are organzing, Truckers to Shut Down America. The apparent spokesperson for this insanity is Zeeda Andrews, a plump, middle-aged woman from Florida, who may or may not be a trucker. However, based on her Facebook page, some things are certain: she has a paranoid fear of Muslims, she hates Obama, and she believes Obama is a Muslim and a traitor. Sound familiar?
    https://www.facebook.com/zeeda.andrews?hc_location=stream

Andrews has put together ten items (how Decalogue-ish of her!) that she wants the government to do something about, and she believes a trucker blockade of Washington is the “vehicle” that will force the government to do her bidding. The first five items on her list concern federal laws and transportation policy that she doesn’t like, especially the reduction in truck parking, which she says is due to the fact that “most truck stops have went (sic) out of business.”

The final five items have to do with larger concerns that concern not just truckers but “We the People.” As Ms. Andrews’ prolix sentence fragment so in-eloquently puts it, “Demanding that this form of government alter its present course of direction, and recalibrate itself to, once again, align with the Constitution our forefathers drafted, and signed into law.” Specifically, this scholar of the Constitution says that the Defense Authorization Act, the Affordable Care Act, the Department of Homeland Security, the Transportation Security Administration, and the Obama administration are all unconstitutional.

  111. Arthur says:

Andrew Vrba, PmG: They can leave the rest of us OUT of their lunacy.

I agree. However, I don’t think they consider people who disagree with them Americans. As their talk-radio tutors have been saying for years, anyone who disagrees with a radical conservative is not an American. He or she is the enemy, which can mean, among other things, a communist, a homosexual, a Muslim, a socialist, a teacher or professor, a Democrat, a union member, an intellectual, an agnostic or atheist, a liberal, a peacenik, a Christian who isn’t a fundamentalist, and all card-carrying members of public libraries.

  112. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

Anyone else looking forward to the failure of this trucker nonsense?

Andrew Vrba, PmG: Anyone else looking forward to the failure of this trucker nonsense?

Not especially: even if they only hit their recently-revised goal of 3000 big rigs, and behave themselves, they’ll still inconvenience a lot of people. If they don’t behave well, fatal accidents and/or road rage incidents are a definite possibility.

Andrew Vrba, PmG: The resulting RWNJ tantrum will be MAGIC!

They blew off “9/9 Nein”, and the “2 Million Bikers” missing their goal by 99.75% or so. There’ll probably be some other shiny object to distract them. Maybe Louis Gomer Piles will sign on with Stockman…

Kiwiwriter: The end-time “true believers” will cause chaos, not the Book of Revelations. Besides, John was hallucinating on mushrooms when he wrote that stuff.

RanTalbott: Me, too. It only took them about a week to decide I was dengerously polluting their fact-free environment with verifiable truth. My experiments indicate that the blocking is done by individual IP address (not netblocks), not by disabling the userid. So, if you have access to one of those anonymizer services, you may be able to resume your fun. And even double it if you can find a service that the conspiracy nuts are using to “keep the NSA from tracking them”: just imagine the multiple varieties of Hell that will break loose if the paranoid loons start finding themselves blocked from using one of their favorite anti-gummint sites.

Back in the day I used to use AOL I could get around bans pretty easily. WIth the free aol you can connect through TCP/IP. I don’t know if it still does it but they use a rotating IP address. Every time you log off and then on again it assigns a new IP address. Thus you would be able to post comments again under another IP.

  130. Arthur says:

Kiwiwriter: Seriously, though…I’m tired of “End Times” nonsense. If God was going to pull the plug on humanity, He had better chances to do it…two World Wars, the Great Depression, several plagues, the Cuban Missile Crisis, Y2K, the 1973 Mid-East War, and the decision to put “Secret Diaries of Desmond Pfeiffer” on TV.

Yeah, I’ve hearing people declaring the end was coming for almost as long as Doc has been told he’d never see a dime from Social Security. Well, Doc’s got his money, but the groom’s still waiting at the altar. People have wrongly predicted the end times for thousands of years. Even Jesus seems to have gotten it wrong (see, Matthew 24:34); of course, apologists are quick to explain away this apparent error.

I still laugh my head off at the Y2K nonsense…I had to man the Newark Emergency Operations Center to address that nonsense. Hordes of cops, firefighters, EMS, and City directors were there, watching the ball drop in someplace different in Europe every hour on the hour, with no ill effects. The cops took advantage of the lack of activity to address that bane of police life, reports, while I sat with the Director of Water and Sewer Utilities and the City Business Administrator to discuss when to potty-train our infants.

We had an army of TV cameras in attendance, all waiting to cover catastrophe, and their only action came when the Mayor showed up to tell the media we were ready for anything, urge the public to attend our celebration in the park, and not to drink and drive. Then he went to the party.

I was relieved before midnight, and went home. While I was watching the ball drop in New York with my family, they suffered the only catastrophe of the evening at the Emergency Operations Center. The pizza was two hours late. The pizza delivery guy was unbelievably far behind in his deliveries…everybody and their mother was hosting a party in Newark, and they ALL ordered in from Domino’s. Y2K.

When the “Rapture” was supposed to hit in 2012, my wife and daughter laid out some clothes on the lawn and a wooden sign that said, “I’ve Gone to Join the Rapture. Goodbye, everybody.” People going to the nearby Pentecostal church stood on the sidewalk, staring at our sign, clucking disapprovingly in Spanish.

When I worked in NY, a part-time optometrist was an evangelical, and used to come into the lab when there weren’t any patients. He used to lecture me about the End, and what was about to befall me for refusing baptism. “The end times are coming. Please read this, you have to prepare.”

One day I walked into his office, and saw him reading a book: “How to invest in real estate.”

Yesterday, I went to the Wawa to buy some sub sandwiches. While I was waiting, I bought Angel a hot dog. I took her outside, took the hot dog from the bun, and gave it to her. Big mistake. A homeless man saw me, and yelled “You’re giving a dog that and not me?!”, and went ballistic.
