This is the way March ends

not with a bang but with a whimper

Weather lore says that March comes in like a like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Applied to birtherism, March came in with bluster and high expectations of the great denouement of the “O-bots,” the shattering of their universe. Here on the last day of March, let’s take stock of the month:

  • Orly Taitz endorsed by Pastor Manning, only to find herself joined at the hip with his homophobic street sign
  • Tea Party Nation repudiates Taitz claim of endorsement
  • CalGuns repudiates Taitz claim of endorsement
  • Michael Shrimpton video gets no traction
  • FBI evidence of theft by threat, witness tampering and felony obstruction of justice by Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported
  • Former Cold Case Posse member Brian Reilly describes unprofessionalism within the Cold Case Posse
  • Congressmen Labrador and Huelskamp express disinterest in Sheriff Joe investigation
  • Doug Vogt’s mysterious “friendly judge” does not come through
  • McInnish appeal denied by Alabama Supreme Court (7 – 2)
  • Larry Klayman faces Bar disciplinary action in DC
  • Birther Walter Fitzpatrick III jailed
  • Birther Lucas Daniel Smith reportedly jailed in the Dominican Republic
  • More delays in Taitz’ Mississippi lawsuit, strengthening Defense case for sanctions
  • Supreme Court declines to hear Robert Laity appeal.
  • Birther Report doesn’t go live with its new super secure server
  • No announcement from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office about an Obama investigation
  • No press conference, charges, investigative reports, or anything else of substance from Mike Zullo and the Cold Case Posse
  • Dow Jones Industrial Average up 136 points for the month of March
  • Universe pretty much the same

Check out my 2009 poem, “We are the Birthers.”

Now, let’s play the birther theme song!

There’s a blast from the past.

  2. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

If I had a birther’s ear to buzz in, I’d be all like “Hey! It’s the end of March! Is the universe gonna shatter now? How bout now? Now?” Over, and over and over again.

if you don’t mind doc, i’d like to copy and paste this list for some of our birfoon friends

And the top stories on BirtherReport today????

    – Loretta Fuddy Autopsy – Again
    – Is Obama a Manchurian? – The Aspen Times
    – And the Colorado birther candidate for Governor

Not a word from Arpaio or Zullo. I’m shocked!

  7. Origuy says:

One of the GOP candidates for Colorado governor turns out to be a birther.

In an interview in 2010, radio host Stan Solomon asked Bob Beauprez, who is currently running for governor, if he agreed that the president’s birth certificate was an “absolute fraud,” and that “this man was not born in America, he is not an American.”

“On the birth certificate, I don’t know,” Beauprez opined at the time. “I’ve heard both sides of it. I find it absolutely astounding that, if he has one, if this is all just a myth, why in the world not put it to bed?”

  8. Benji Franklin says:

CarlOrcas: And the top stories on BirtherReport today????

Even those stories include one, as often happens there, which demonstrates the utter desperation of that crowd to take even DISHONORABLE and UNSUPPORTIVE mention in the press, and re-headline it to suggest, no matter how outdated it is, or how bad the facts covered are for the Birther/Bowel Movement, that the mere mention of their lunatic crusade, will start the ball rolling towards impeachment and hanging!

Among those you noted, their coverage of -” And the Colorado birther candidate for Governor” completely leaves out the fact that this video of the Republican candidate for governor in Colorado who made a couple of fairly bland statements about generally mistrusting Obama, in 2010, saying basically he just didn’t know about the authenticity of the birth certificate, came to light recently when Democratic partisans unearthed these statements made on a wacky web-based (I think) radio interview from 2010, and have now circulated it in CO presuming the Birther association will harm his candidacy with sane voters.

  9. Crustacean says:

Benji Franklin: Democratic partisans unearthed these statements made on a wacky web-based (I think) radio interview from 2010, and have now circulated it in CO presuming the Birther association will harm his candidacy with sane voters.

It’s scary to think that “sane voters” need to be a targeted demographic.

Psychiatrists should start new-patient interviews by asking, “are you a birther?” It could be a real time saver, kind of like how tech-support call takers lead off with, “is your computer plugged in?”

  10. Bob says:

    A headline from Orly today:

❝No decision yet in a case dealing with Obama’s use of a fabricated Selective Service certificate with a fabricated cancellation USPS stamp. Expect decision any day now, checking daily❞

  11. mimi says:

Perfect musical accompaniment with this post. Loved it.

  12. Isn’t she due to file something in response to the opposition to her motion to file more stuff?

Bob: Expect decision any day now, checking daily❞

  13. The Magic M says:

With apologies to Mika, “Happy Ending”:

This is the way that March ends
    So stop pretending
No hope, no Taitz, no Zullo
    No happy ending

  14. American Mzungu says:

In the real world the end of March brought the beginning of the baseball season.

  15. Jim says:

PLAY BALL! Even a boring baseball game is more interesting than the birthers nowadays.

I guess the birthers are more a case of “March Madness” now, March is gone and they’re still awaiting Zullo’s madness.

  16. Dave B. says:

Man, I’m just glad my baby’s greenhouse didn’t blow away. Oh, and that the universe didn’t shatter.

  17. Notorial Dissent says:

Didn’t they announce that some/all of the posses were being disbanded because of insurance issues on the 31st? Couldn’t that be universe shattering, at least for the birfoons?

  18. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

I’m glad the universe didn’t shatter, cause that’s where I keep all my stuff!
