Birthers seem dead serious about the role-playing game they obsess over, a game I have dubbed “Evil Obama.” They swear up and down that they are not just playing, but there are a couple of facts that belie that.
The first fact is that they generally don’t show up in real life for a rally or a demonstration. Like gamers, they just play online.
The other observation separating birtherism from the real world is that they hold views that don’t take reality into account. One big point of dissonance is the fantasy view that Obama is ultimate evil, controls vast covert resources, and ruthlessly kills his enemies (like, for example his ally Loretta Fuddy), and that Obama and his minions are deathly afraid of imminent destruction on account of the birthers special knowledge, contrasted to the fact that the birthers have complete freedom to publish their views, and nothing bad is happening to them.
If Obama is so evil, and birthers are such a threat, why aren’t they dropping like flies?
The birthers may not be dropping like flies, but the numbers of believers and the $$$ sure seem to be. 😀

I’ve noticed this too! You sometimes see long time, dyed in the wool commenters at BR saying stuff like “Okay, we’re just being strung along by Zullo and the CCP. I’m out! Call me IF something actually happens!” Naturally, those birthers are quickly labeled as Obot infiltrators and/or traitors to the cause. I get the feeling that birdboy will be the last one to leave. His “faith” is just too strong.
It could be worse. The fools could be separating themselves from their money by sending it to a more effective form of idiocy.

By squawking loudly and ineffectually their guano insane drivel on blogs and fora that no sane person ever reads and take seriously they are immunising themselves from Da Ebil Regime. Their squawks become PROOF (not real proof) that means that if anything happens to them EVERYONE (well nobody) will know it was Da Ebil Regime…therefore PROOF (nope)
The proof (not real proof) of the FACT (not a real fact) is INDIRECTLY CONFIRMED (not really) by the FACT (still not a fact) that they are still untouched.

Or, more likely, they’re doppelgangers deployed by Obama to sow seeds of doubt and mistrust over the fruited plains of Birtherstan.
