    The Wikipedia article on Valerie Jarrett has been protected, so that only logged-in Wikipedia editors can change it. So if any more of this WND/Klayman vandalism occurs, we’ll have at least a Wikipedia ID to tie it to, rather than an IP address.

We already know that Mike Zullo is really Mike Moore and that’s out of Mike Volin’s own mouth and we also know that they have not kept their promises of exposing the fake birth certificate. That’s because Volin is Pelosi’s boy and has been for quite some time.

  17. Unless a prosecutor in Maricopa County is willing to take a case to the grand jury, that’s probably not going to happen. Federal Civil Rights violations are the mechanism through which much more serious crimes get at least some kind of punishment when local situations prevent prosecution of the underlying crime.

    I let the edit timer expire, sorry. I do know about IRS rule 2013-61, made after the repeal of DOMA. But that’s an agency rule that they were allowed to make, not one that they were required to make. A Jeb Bush administration could have change that rule, and also it wasn’t binding on the states. Now that the court has ruled in terms of fundamental rights (I haven’t read the decision yet), that will certainly change.

    I found Pelosi’s listing in the Trinity College yearbook for 1962 and it spells her name “D’Alesandro.”

  40. I was thinking earlier today what a historic week this was. (I am old enough to remember the old BBC TV show TW3 aka That Was The Week That Was). First following the tragedy in Charleston that symbol of racism is finally coming down, then affordable health care was maintained and finally marriage equality became the law of the land.

    I can’t remember very many weeks where so many momentous and ultimately positive things happened. Yet the Birthers are going to completely miss it. Birthers like Rambo Ike, Carl Gallups, Mike Volin, and CRJ will continue wallow in their ignorance and hatred and believing their delusions that Barack Obama is not a legitimate and great President. If Birthers had their way this week would not have happened. I feel deeply sorry for them.

    You’ve gone back and forth between saying Nixon was alive and Nixon was killed with you having nothing to do with it and now you’re saying you killed him. Considering he’s still alive and working at PBCC, you’re lying-AGAIN.

    If all you needed was a birth announcement and family Bible, as Nixon allegedly told you, that provided NO REASON for you to forge a Hawaiian birth certificate. He was allegedly telling you that you didn’t need a birth certificate in Hawaii according to what you’re saying. When you initially told the story you made up, you said that Obama was picked out of the Bible to fool the Christian sheeple which made no sense since you were supposed to be creating the birth certificate for Obama to use to attend college. You later changed your story saying you picked the Obama name from the microfiche files that you and Griselda allegedly went through in Hawaii. You also supposedly decided that the family would have to be killed, later saying that “Allen” went with you but had to hide because he would “stand out” due to his color! You said you chose the Obama family because there were so many Hawaiian families with the name Obama. You just don’t stop spinning these crazy fairy tales. Obama is NOT a Hawaiian name. Just another huge hole in your story along with the lie about a family being murdered in 1985 except they weren’t murdered. There was no Obama family in 1985 in Hawaii. Barack Obama was living in Chicago, Barack Obama, Sr. had died in 1982 in Kenya. Ann Dunham remained in Jakarta, Indonesia until at least 1984, then her career took her to Pakistan until approximately 1987.

    The birth announcements from HDOH were legitimate and are just one of several things that can be used to verify Barack Obama’s birth in Hawaii.

  55. The name was selected out of newpaper archives. The selected name was one day off of his original birthdate because I was too nervous to keep searching. I wanted to get the job done.

    David Nixon, the professor of law, is dead and has been since 1985.

    I guess it’s just too inconceivable to you that they found another professor with the exact same name or gave someone a duplicate identity to cover our tracks.

    It is nice to know that in the end, Barack Obama remains President and he’s had one of the best week’s of his Presidency that has resulted in many more happy and secure couples and families headed by same-sex parents. I like to think about the security that these children now have, knowing that nobody can take them away from one parent or another if their partner should die. We now have healthcare for millions more people and nobody has to worry about going bankrupt or getting kicked off their insurance due to their diagnosis. What a legacy President Obama will leave and that alone is something nobody, especially the crazy birthers, can take away from him. Amen!

    And several interesting decisions today. The court ruled that voters who live in states which allow referendums are free to take away the ability to redistrict from state legislatures and give the power of redistricting to an independent commission.

    SCOTUS also stayed the Texas law which would have forced many abortion clinics in the state to shut down. However, SCOTUS has not yet ruled on whether to grant cert on the underlying case, which upheld the law.

    In a case involving Obamacare, Justice Alito had put on hold a Court of Appeals order in Pennsylvania that religious organizations do not have to provide contraception benefits to employees even if the government pays for it. SCOTUS lifted the hold today, so those employees will get contraception benefits, at least until the underlying case is ruled upon.

    I’ve tried and failed to explain to people that their opposition to various current Trade Agreement issues are the result of a massive, largely successful disinformation campaign aimed at seeding dissent among progressives. I’ve met opposition from people who seem convinced that their objections are their own, and not the result of being manipulated into opposing something that they don’t actually understand. It is disappointing to engage people who are steadfastly passionate about something that they cannot explain at all, and even more disappointing when it becomes clear that the most vocal opposition comes from the people with the least amount of background in economics, trade in the global marketplace, or even public finance. It seems to be entirely lost on them that the US economy is not sustainable without foreign trade in the expanding and emerging markets of Asia, and it hasn’t helped to ask them to investigate their 401(k)’s and other investments in order to understand that all those well-performing mutual funds in the “emerging markets” and “energy” sector are at risk if the US surrenders it leverage in those marketplaces.

    When I attempt to make any argument to suggest that the Trans-Pacific Partnership might not be the end of the USA, I’m met with disbelief and derision, and the sense is almost exactly like being called “Obot” by the birthers. The difference is, when the birthers insult me, I can take pride in it. But when progressives fail to understand the basic concepts behind the things they claim to oppose, it’s only frustrating.

    What’s especially frustrating is the persistent claim that the TPP is being developed under a total cloud of secrecy, a complete information embargo, but when confronted on this claim, the people complaining about it are uniformly entirely uninformed by the information that is *not* secret. If these individuals were able to articulate their reasons for objecting to the secrecy, it would mainly be a matter of objecting to the fact that all meetings between all parties involved in this massive, decade-long undertaking are not held in the light of day with their minutes and draft documents disclosed publicly. No one with any legitimate degree of negotiation practice either in business or government would consider that a reasonable objection, but it is certainly being voiced.

    It is heartbreaking to see something that should be regarded as one of the Obama Administration’s most significant achievements being clouded by disinformation, and frustrating to realize that the disinformation campaign has been wildly successful to the point that people who should know better have already become unwilling to question the basis for their opposition. In some ways this is more frustrating than arguing with birthers, because President Obama’s most fervent supporters appear to be buying into the idea that negotiating enduring leverage for the United States in matters of trade in the Asia-Pacific sphere is in some way an anti-American effort, even suggesting that it is tantamount to (literally) slavery based on some misrepresentations of the Malaysian government and society.

    It’s been shocking, and I welcome any discussion on the subject, and advice for persuading otherwise well-aligned progressives who have been manipulated into opposition.

    Well, I for one acknowledge that one particular point that irritates me no end is not from my personal knowledge, but from the opposition campaign.

    That point is the enshrinement of the “Investor-State Dispute Settlement” (ISDS). ISDS allows foreign companies (in any of the participating countries) to challenge local laws (of any of the other participating countries) and sue for damages.

    This is not a trivial point nor is it a ‘storm in a tea-kettle’. It is an absolute deal breaker for me. If you think that I, or other opponents, are beating this issue up, you need to know that a similar clause, in the Australia/Hong Kong agreement from 1993 is being used by Phillip-Morris Tobacco to challenge Australia’s tobacco plain packaging law. Tobacco plain packaging—investor-state arbitration.

    The Washington Post article on the topic has other examples showing how foreign companies can violate the sovereignty of participating companies in this way. WaPo is far from my ‘go-to’ source for opinion, but they seem to have it pretty much right in this case.

    The TPP may indeed have some positive benefits for some of the participants and disadvantages for others. Each participating country has to weigh that up for themselves, but as I said, for me, this is a deal breaker.

    Only it doesn’t make it consistent, as WaPo points out, Foreign Tobacco companies can take Governments to ISDS for regulating tobacco, but Foreign Labor Unions cannot take Governments to ISDS for illegally paying slave wages.

    I notice that the US State Department cites the Phillip-Morris case against Australia in its response and claims it has ‘fixed’ this problem. But it doesn’t describe how it has done so. (relying on the old “American Exceptionalism” argument perhaps?)

    Until International agreement to fix the potential abuses in the ISDS system is obtained, the ISDS remains an obsolete solution to a problem which can be handled by other ‘modern’ solutions.

    You could photoshop Hillary or Obama on a 1933 photo and the gullible will see it as proof they orchestrated the Third Reich.

    Yes, and even if he has the money to pay the filing fee, he only has two days left to get the 40+ copies of his petition printed and mailed out. He admitted on his blog yesterday that he isn’t going to be able to have the bound copies made:

    “The Court stated that the fees were to be paid to the Court and the Printing requirements full filled that would cost around $4,000 would need to be done by July 13th. We tried to raise the money but failed to do so in the time allowed specified in that Order of the Court made June 18th. We did however raise enough money to get this APPLICATION filed and Docketed in the time that was needed to get that done at least, but we are on the chopping block folks.”

    So far he hasn’t acknowledged Sotomayor’s denial on his blog.

    I wonder if his donors will ask for their money back. If not, he can now afford a few more trips to McDonald’s.
