Armed birthers take to the streets in Ferguson

Thanks to a commenter tip pointing to a video of the paramilitary group, the Oath Keepers, who appeared, armed with military-style weapons and bullet-proof vests on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri, last night. Press reports say that they were there to protect a journalist from Alex Jones’ InfoWars.com web site. Jones is a well-known purveyor of birther material on his show, having such guests as Jerome Corsi and Mike Zullo.

That in and of itself is not news, but the guy with the gun  in Ferguson is a birther; he’s a freakin’ birther!

Oath keeper: [Obama] himself reporting, talking about himself being born in Kenya. All the sudden that’s no longer an issue. Them Democrats and Republicans went along with it. … The ring he wears, from the blow up, it appears to be some kind of Muslim ring.

  1. I decided not to write the article: “Armed birther supporters take to the streets in Ferguson.”

Some guys in military gear, bullet-proof vests, and carrying automatic rifles appeared on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri. They identified themselves as members of the paramilitary Oath Keepers organization and they said they were there to protect Info Wars, a conservative web site run by Alex Jones that carries birther content.

Jones says the story is a fake, but I saw the video of the guys saying they were there to protect Info Wars.

Good choice: even if it turns out to be true that InfoWars hired them, we can be more than 90% sure that the reporter isn’t there to work on a birfoon story.

Calling them “birther supporters” would have been too much like the “guilt by having once visited the same ZIP code” tactics used by the conspiracy nuts.

Jones says he didn’t hire, which leaves open the possibility that the reporter spotted them and said “Would you folks do a fellow wingnut a favor?”. They could have been on that particular spot at that particular moment to protect him, while also having gone to Ferguson for an entirely different “mission”.

This Oath Keeper, however, explicitly birthered.

  4. Because of the video from Bob, I decided to write the article, and give it a more explicit title.

  5. I wonder if Barry Soetoro, Esq. will say that it’s me in that video.

  8. Speaking of Oath Keepers, Darren Huff, according to a reliable source on Facebook, is out of jail now.

I’m not saying it’s you … but in the picture I can make out just behind you him, in the lower left, the shining eyes of a gerbil…

To visit the OARPA cloning lab? 😉

Oh. I was wondering for a while. I had them confused with Promise Keepers.

    And Mike Zullo…

The last thing Ferguson needs right now, is armed trailer trash with an oppression complex.

So not just a birther but an avid WND reader. Or Jack Cashill’s real father.

    InfoWars had that story too:

This is a good example of how it is nearly impossible to completely kill a lie once it starts to spread.

That business model has worked well for Fox News.

So these guys are stepping in to protect citizens from the government like they say their purpose is, right?

  19. Crustacean says:

That’s right, Dave. And those things they have slung over their shoulders are just bacon cookers, in case they need a late-night snack while protecting the good citizens of Ferguson.

And, at 40 cents a round for AR-15 ammo, it only costs about $50 to cook up a slice. Of course, after the first one, the cost goes down to about $25 if you reload the ammo and the barrel-griddle quickly enough.

Obviously, only a Washington fat cat would do that when it would be cheaper to buy a new cellphone so you could order a bacon-topped pizza from Domino’s and pick it off. So much for Cruz being a “conservative”…

Dave B.: I hope somebody remembered to bring the plastic forks.

Liberal wuss: real men eat with a Ka-Bar. Or bite it right off the barrel. 😉
