Welcome back, Fogbow

image

The Fogbow forum is back under a new hosting company and more site security. Foggy wrote yesterday:

Now you can do a post about how Fogbow is back, working perfectly, and super-secured by SiteLock. No more malware – and the blacklisting will be removed early next week.

We see a good deal progress in the recovery from typhoon AnoaGhost. The WordPress front page is restored: Some of the menus still don’t work, but that will come in time, as will the removal of the big red Google scare page you seen when accessing The Fogbow from some browsers.

Update:

The red scare screen is gone now, and the front-page menus have been restored. A cursory check suggests that the forum problem with logins has also been fixed.

Today I restored the old wiki, too also. http://wiki.thefogbow.com

Of course, when I restored the WordPress site and the wiki and the chat room, some malware was also included because the hacker defaced every part of my old server. But SiteLock has assured me that they manually cleaned the entire site, and I should be out of Internet Jail and off the Google blacklists by tomorrow or Tuesday.

I think AnoaGhost has realized that I won’t even consider paying blackmail, ever. His best option is to go hack someone else, and hope they’re stupid enough to pay him some money.

As a general principle, when recovering from a hack, you don’t restore any of the old software, but rather start again new.

Sorry about your comments being flagged by the Spam filter. I can only guess that the 3rd party filter thinks that fogbow is still in the dog house.
