Berg Book

imageFinally Phil Berg’s Obama book is out. It’s called ObamaScare, and available both in paperback and Kindle formats. The book has 32 chapters plus an appendix and index for 266 pages.

I have a moral objection to giving money to bad guys, specifically buying their books, so I look for used copies. In this case Amazon lets me read the book for free through their Kindle Unlimited program. One immediately notes that there is a big difference between the paperback edition and the Kindle edition (as seen by previews on the Amazon web site)—the Kindle edition has no table of contents.

What I wanted to look at was the chapter titled “Malaysia MH17 – Obama could have Avoided the Destruction.” Berg blames the conflict in the Ukraine, and the air disaster, on Obama’s foreign policy. He doesn’t develop the idea or present specifics, but it happened, and it must be Obama’s fault, and this at a hasty glance, appears to be most of what the book is about. Oh, and Benghazi.

Berg both denies Obama is a US citizen, and asserts that he is guilty of treason. He also makes a case for impeachment. He says that ObamaCare and Benghazi will “bring him down.”

Yes, there are standard birther talking points in the book such as:

And Obama has spent over Three Million [$3] Dollars to keep his records sealed.

You’d think someone like Berg would know better. And Berg says following a paragraph on the “grandmother tape”:

When New York Times bestseller author Jerome Corsi traveled to Kenya to investigate the claims, he was almost immediately kicked out of the country by Kenyan officials.

Only Corsi was detained in Kenya on October 7, 2008, and subsequently deported. The “grandmother tape” was recorded October 16, 2008. Corsi could have hardly gone to Kenya to investigate the grandmother tape, as the interview had not occurred.

Berg seems to be stuck in time, including very little discussion about Obama’s long-form birth certificate in 2011, and what there is appears amidst a chapter on Berg’s 2009 lawsuit.

He also talks quite a lot about Orly Taitz, concluding:

There are so many other appearances by Orly Taitz that has (sic) undermined the efforts of others and yes, my efforts to expose the real fraud of Soetoro/Obama.

The book is a mess.

Bob Gard: Proof “beyond a reasonable doubt”

Bob came by this blog to plug his book and comment on the topic, and I thought that rather that stress the open thread, which will close soon anyway, I decided to open this up and move those comments from the open thread over here.

I found a used copy of the book at Amazon and ordered it (to arrive Thursday). Obviously we can’t debate a 1722-page book in this forum but I expect that I will have some questions from looking at the book, and perhaps get a sense of why Bob went one way and all the authorities went the other way.

Lakin’s book tanks

I haven’t read Terry Lakin’s book, Officer’s Oath, nor do I plan to — this is not a book review. Generally I have sympathy for the disabled and victims of crime, and so I probably view Terry Lakin somewhat more sympathetically than others, particularly current and former members of the armed forces who have a stronger sense of the importance of being able to rely on your buddies in crisis. On of my great life insights is: “it’s not about me,” a lesson that Lakin unfortunately didn’t learn.

Whether Terry Lakin intended to make money from his book or whether its goal is influencing the election, it has been an abject failure based on sales. The following table shows rankings for a few selected books1 (for the birther impaired, books at the TOP of the chart start with the NUMBER ONE book, the best seller of all Kindle books. The bigger the number the farther down the ranking and the fewer actual books sold):

1I ranked the Kindle edition to be consistent. Books with many editions confuse the ranking, and it’s more fair to eliminate the factor of what books are carried in bookstores and airport  shops. The paperback ranking of Lakin’s book is so low it is literally off the charts at 347,886. Maraniss’ paperback, on the other hand, is ranked much better than his Kindle edition at 431.

Obama Conspiracy Theories goes non-commercial

The “Recommended Books” widget was an experiment. The ad was chosen as an attractive way to call attention to books that I thought would be of interest to readers here. The purpose wasn’t to make money, and it didn’t.

I have removed the widget and replaced it with a simple list of books (with non-royalty links to for these reasons:

  1. Having affiliate links on the site creates licensing issues for some of the tools I use that are free for non-commercial sites, but pay for commercial sites.
  2. I believe that the widget makes the pages load slower.
  3. I never liked animation on web pages that weren’t specifically designed that way. I found the books widget distracting and out of character with the rest of the site.
  4. The site is now, as it was originally intended, a pure volunteer, non-profit exercise of my right to free speech. There is no conflict of interest.

Zombie epidemic

Despite recent denials of zombie attacks from the Centers for Disease Control (the FBI used to say there was no organized crime), there continue to be sightings. We here at the Obama Conspiracy Theories blog have been lulled into a sense of complacency by Mario Apuzzo who has been posting extensively in comments here; unbeknownst to us it was only a distraction while he created a zombie of his Purpura v. Obama lawsuit. The undead case has been seen and documented at the New Jersey Supreme Court1. It is well known that just about the only effective means of destroying a zombie is massive trauma to the head, preferably by a strike from a large wooden mallet.

Indeed, another brain-consuming zombie brief has appeared at the Supreme Court of the United States no less. Birther Zombie queen Orly Taitz filed an appeal of the Georgia ballot challenge,  Farrar v. Obama. Zombies have been identified by their decaying physical bodies, and this is clearly evident in the Farrar brief, for example on page 43 where some of the text has deteriorated to the point that it is barely recognizable.

1I’ve been reading the appeal and am researching it for a possible serious article.
