Donofrio alleges Obama birth records amended!

Leo Donofrio has made a stunning claim on his blog in a new article: Pending Litigation: Hawaii Confirms That Obama’s Vital Records Have Been Amended.

One has to translate that headline from “birther speak” to normal usage. “Pending Litigation” means “we haven’t filed a lawsuit” and “Confirms” means “we say so, but we won’t tell you why or how”.

Hawaiian law requires that certificates that have been amended be distinctly marked “altered”, and Obama’s Certification of Live Birth clearly is not marked “altered”. This fact justifies a high degree of skepticism on Donofrio’s claim. Of course the word “Amended” in birther speak might mean something totally different from the normal usage.

Donofrio says:

I will issue a full statement and press release on behalf of TerriK via this blog in the days ahead. This statement will include a complete history of correspondence between TerriK and Hawaii state officials in the Office of Information Practices (OIP) and the Department of Health (DoH). (more…)

Andy Martin Boycotts Hawai’i!

I thought I had seen it all with the citizen grand juries, but just when I thought nuttiness had reached it’s theoretical maximum, in charges Andy Martin announcing his boycott of the entire State of Hawaii, through a new web site: BoycottHawaii.com. Rather than others distorting the nature of Obama’s birth certificate, it is Martin himself who makes the ridiculous statement that the COLB is a copy of some “other form of public record” and not a copy of a birth certificate.

I somehow do not think that Andy Martin’s delusions will have any effect on Hawaii’s economy.

The following (taken from the site’s home page) is full of false statements. One of the page header links is to “New Books” which points to Andy Martin’s very much NOT new book. Obama, the Man Behind the Mask, a book which describes itself as a “Bestseller” on the cover, but which readers here know was one of the worst selling of the anti-Obama books.

The International Boycott of Hawai’i:

Barack Obama is serving as the forty-fourth President of the United States.

Hawai’i state officials and school officials control access to the original copies of vital historic records about Obama, including access to his original, typewritten 1961 birth certificate and Punahou School records.

Separately, Obama is also concealing his college and law school records from Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School.

Regrettably, Hawai’i officials have acted more like stooges of a banana republic than custodians of vital records and historical documents involving the birthplace of a president. A Hawai’i court slammed the door shut on a lawsuit seeking legitimate access to these original materials. The Hawai’i Department of Health confirmed an original birth certificate exists, and then refused to disclose the document, in a blatant act of pre-election legerdemain. (more…)

He’s baaaaaaaaack!

Internet powerhouse Andy Martin is convening a National Conference on Barack Obama’s Missing Birth Certificate and College Records: April 3-4, Washington, DC according to PR-Inside.com (a free self-service press release site) sponsored by Committee of One Million to Defeat Barack Obama. You know, I was one of a handful of members of the McGovern million man club. Ah, those were the heady days when liberals were really liberal and conservatives were reasonably intelligent. But I digress.

It looks like the main purpose of the press announcement was to publicize his need for money. Yessir, more money! (more…)

O-Bots, Nobama, and Truthers

I like to understand people I disagree with. It helps me grow.

I find among Obama conspiracy theorists a variety of people. I can only guess what’s in their minds, but here’s what I think:

Some folks are sincere and honorable folks. Something bothers them, whether it is the question of why Obama doesn’t release this or that document, or the somewhat embarrassing appearance that nobody actually checks on presidential qualifications. Some are defenders of the Constitution, but have just fallen in with the wrong crowd who are feeding them misinformation, which leads to wrong conclusions. These are the sort of people who are very disturbed when they are lied to. I’m disappointed that some of them are more tolerant than I think they should be.
Some folks crave celebrity. I would put some of the more public figures there, like Andy Martin. There’s a long list I suspect belong there, but I don’t want to label anyone unfairly or by mistake. (more…)

Barack Obama is a Communist

I grew up in the 1950′s when people actually did call one other communists. And in the 1930′s and 1940′s we actually had communists in intellectual circles. It was an interesting idea to be explored back then, before the communist experiments around the world showed where that particular philosophy led. But, by jingo, there’s communists in the wood pile again. Here’s a quote from one of the more vociferous anti-Obama web sites, TheObamaFile.com:

Barack Obama was born of Communist activists, mentored by a communist writer and activist, spent his college days hanging around radical activists, worked as a radical community organizer learning the radical tactics of Alinsky, kept contact with radicals through the years, attends a radical church, and today lends his political skill to the international goals of radical activists, and has radicals working on his campaign.
