Yet another edited tape says Obama was born in Africa

Yes, another YouTube video. Links to the original and the fake version follow with the text for you to read.

Before Editing:

[5 minutes in] And we are a place where anyone has a chance to make it if they try. If that wasn’t true, then someone named Barack Hussein Obama would not be elected president of the United States of America.

[2 minutes later] That’s how my father who was from Kenya, from Africa, came to the United States, eventually met my mother.

After editing:

And we are a place where anyone has a chance to make it if they try. If that wasn’t true, then someone named Barack Hussein Obama, from Kenya, from Africa, would not be elected president of the United States of America.

This was a pretty poor editing job. The point I want to emphasize is that there are folks out there falsifying evidence in support of the birther cause. The notorious “grandmother tape” was edited; fake Kenyan birth certificates were made; fake document expert credentials presented; and more lies were told about Hawaiian birth certifictes than you can shake a stick at.

Response to Eligibility Primer (Part 1)

I have come to realize that there are two debates on the question of presidential eligibility and the definition of “natural born citizenship”, and some of the more thoughtful people on each side are debating different things. One debate thesis may be summed up this way:

The Constitution does not define “natural born citizen”, nor is it defined in legislation. The U. S. Supreme Court has never decided the question of the relationship of parentage to natural born citizenship. The uncertainty should be resolved.

The second debate thesis might be summed up this way:

Based on common law principles, and supported by numerous authorities, one may conclude with a high degree of certainty that natural born citizens of the United States are those born within its borders except the children of ambassadors.

Folks like Ken Dunbar and Stephen Tonchen (the author of the piece to be discussed here) are debating the former, and this web site is largely geared towards investigating the latter. If debating the first question, then one might say that Barack Obama’s eligibility is “unproven”, but when debating second one will conclude that it is “proven”.

I have no strong objection to the first thesis, but because I affirm the second, I don’t find that there is any urgency towards a judicial resolution of a question that has already been decided by force of argument, the same argument that would be made to the Court and that would certainly prevail. Whichever the case, I find language like “usurper” to be totally irresponsible. (more…)

Obama Birth Announcement False (UPDATED!) (Updated Again!!)

…says Mississippi PI in a signed, but not notarized “affidavit.

Mississippi investigator Jorge L. Baro says that he swore (although the notary’s signature is blank) that some unnamed people he hired told him that they had talked to Beatrice Arakaki in Hawaii and that she told them that 47 years ago in 1961 there was no black baby living next door to her at the address in the Sunday Advertiser announcement of Obama’s birth.

6085 circa 1961 - Honolulu Advertiser

#6085 Kalanianaole circa 1961 - Honolulu Advertiser

According to the Honolulu Advertiser, it was practice to get birth announcements from the Health Department via a news service, not from private submissions, as evidenced by that fact that two independent newspapers had the same announcement with the same announcements for other infants before and after. The announcement had to come from the Health Department, via the birth registration. So what gives? Did they live there or not? It all becomes clear with careful reading and examination of the evidence.

Option A

Let’s assume for a moment that everything that Baro says about the interview is true (but not perhaps complete). (more…)

Is President Obama a British Citizen? (Update 3)

obamaflagAccording to a new article at nObama attorney Mario Apuzzo’s blog, he is. The article, Obama, the President of the U. S., Is Also Currently a British citizen advances the legal theory, cobbled together from bits and pieces of British and Kenyan law, that President Obama, who is acknowledged to have had a claim to British citizenship at birth, still retains that citizenship.

Let’s start this discussion at President Obama’s own campaign website, FightThe Smears.com, citing FactCheck.org:

britlion“When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom’s dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children.

Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.” (more…)

Andy Martin

Andy Martin-Trigona, executive director of the Stop Obama Coalition, brought suit in Hawaii to see Barack Obama’s birth registration form. His book is “The Man Behind the Mask”.

Andy Martin

Martin publishes an “inspirational biography” on his personal web site, The Andy Martin Story. He holds a JD degree from the University of Illinois but was denied admission to the Illinois bar. Additional biographic information is found on the Wikipedia. He describes himself as a consumer advocate and “The People’s Attorney General”. Federal judge Cabranes, said Martin’s practice was to file “an incessant stream of frivolous or meritless motions, demands, letters to the court and other documents…”

Martin first came to the attention of this writer as a result of his filing a lawsuit in Hawaii to see Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Martin suggests Barack Obama’s father is Frank Marshall Davis (a black poet and activist with alleged communist ties) rather than Barack Obama Sr. The New York Times called Martin: “The Man Behind the Whispers About Obama”.

As of February 2008 there was an outstanding arrest warrant for Martin in Florida for violating the terms of his probation.

The U.S. District Court for District of Connecticut wrote in an order on June 23, 1983, granting a permanent injunction (retrieved from the Lexis database) against Martin that his “recent suits have taken on the ugly taint of anti-Jewish bigotry and suggest a substantial deterioration of an already problematical personality.” From the order: (more…)
