Straining at a gnat

Dr. Conspiracy

Dr. Conspiracy

My “proofer” buddy sent me a link in email to the “American Thinker blog“. The article said in part:

No man or woman in this Country today could successfully apply for a high-level executive position with any corporation without submitting this meager documentation to prove the statements made in a job application.

And what is this “meager documentation”? Well one thing was: “Panahou Academy school records, 5th through 12th grades.”

Now I will be the first to admit that I’ve had a fairly stable employment history, and haven’t applied for a huge number of jobs. But I have been a high-level corporate executive and I  cannot ever remember being asked for a 5th grade school transcript. In fact, I can’t ever remember being asked for high school records at all (since I’m a college graduate). What employer ever asked you for your college financial aid records?

And in fact, I can think of 43 high-level executives (former presidents of the United States) that weren’t asked to provide one, not one of these things.

Well you can see that this is not an article for “thinkers”? It’s an article for people who are being made fools of. This jerk is asking for every scrip of irrelevant information on the current president, while remaining silent on the bald-faced lies being told by him and his clan, including the doctored Grandmother tape, the fake travel ban to Pakistan, the fake Kenyan Birth Certificate, and lies about Hawaii birth certificate law.

He is straining at a gnat, and swallowing a camel (or hoping you will).

Denialists trash government web site

No matter how one feels about Obama’s eligibility, boorish trollish behavior isn’t good for anyone.

The Obama administration has set up a web site to discuss:

How can we strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness by making government more transparent, participatory, and collaborative?

People post ideas and others can vote on them, and comment on them.

One of the “rules” is that people shouldn’t post duplicate ideas. I’m going to put a few idea titles posted there, or excerpts from ideas. You tell me if they are duplicates. These are all ideas posted within the last one hour period and constitute just about all of the ideas posted during that period.

  • Natural Born Citizen is simply jus soli jus sanguinus (both parents US citizens, born on US soil); obviously BHO is not natural
  • what hospital were you born in?is that too hard for you to answer barry the fraud
  • If the current President were to apply for a Security Clearance is this Country, He would not be eligible.
  • Where’s the Birth Certificate?
  • If you actually want things to be more “transparent, participatory and collaborative” it might not be a bad idea to start with the most elementary transparency of all and have President Obama finally release his Birth Certificate.
  • How Much Has Obama Paid Prime Minister Odinga to Not Release The Kenyan BC? (more…)

A view from the other side

John McCain

John McCain

Reading over some new material on citizenship from early in our country’s history, I was suddenly struck by the thought: John McCain probably isn’t a natural born citizen of the United States. If we were talking about President McCain today instead Obama, how would the story be different.

The historical fact is that McCain was nominated by the Republican Party to run for president, and that he was on the ballot in all 50 states. A lawsuit was filed, Hollander v. McCain, that challenged his eligibility, a lawsuit that was dismissed. We can reasonably presume that the lawsuits against Obama, had they been  filed against McCain would have been similarly dismissed for the same reasons, reasons that are not tied to the truth or falsehood of his eligibility.

McCain’s (and Obama’s) eligibility was not a significant factor in the election. Given that the Senate had already unanimously declared John McCain a natural born citizen in  Senate Resolution  511, it hardly seems credible that any Senator would have objected to the certification of his election and an objection must be raised by one Senator and one House member before an objection is recognized. There were articles written by law professors challenging McCain’s eligibility, but I don’t see  a mechanism by which the process would have run any differently than it did. (more…)

Here are some comments I made elsewhere (deleted or not):

A request that letters should be sent to the Supreme Court appeared in WorldNetDaily. In response to a commenter at The Right Side of Life:

I think it is seriously misguided for anyone to think that somebody writing a letter to the Supreme Court will make them any more serious about the Constitution than they already are. (more…)
