Birther meets government

There seems to be a small cluster of instances of birthers meeting with the government going on. One is Tom Arnold who reports his meeting with the FBI in Las Vegas where he presented them with a Sheriff’s Kit. The story is recounted at Gerbil Report™. Arnold (who says that he is a retired law enforcement officer) alleged that Obama stole someone’s social-security number, forged his own birth certificate, unlawfully back-dated his “draft card” and engaged in election fraud. Following the visit, Arnold (newly added as number 357 to the list of Birthers from A to Z) discloses the shocking result:

I never heard from anybody

Wow Tom, you’re lucky not to be in a FEMA camp after a stunt like that! And to further tempt fate, he called in the same stuff to the FBI in Virginia.

Orly Taitz has been spending some time with her “barf bag”1 recently, but inbetween retches was able to get out an article about “civil rights leader”2 Neil B. Turner’s upcoming attempt to present a letter to Darrell Issa at a “Citizen Lobby” visit with the congressman today. Turner says:

I will be presenting a Letter to Mr. Issa that will be included in an ‘information packet’ for him.

image(Please, oh please, let it be a Sheriff’s Kit.) Turner asks the Congressman Issa point blank in the letter why he voted to approve the Electoral College vote counts for “usurper” Obama. Was it because:

  1. a) You have been threatened with the loss of your life?, or
  2. b) You have been threatened with the loss of your loved ones’ lives?, or
  3. c) Something else?

Your personal response of A, B, or C is required.

Not “a, b, or c” or perhaps “1, 2 or 3”?

Turner has a history of writing up demands, such as this letter to the FBI from December of 2012, also sent to the US Attorney for the Southern District of California.

Meanwhile, Sharon Rondeau contacted the media representatives of Rep. Jim Jordan, Senator Mike Lee, and Rep. Louie Gohmert, to ask some rather pointed questions about the new administration policy regarding Cuba. In her lengthy article reprinted at Gerbil Report™, Rondeau talks mostly about Hitler and says in the letter, “Is Obama doing the same thing that Hitler did with the Reichstag in 1933?” While the letter is about Cuba relations and immigration, it closes with the obligatory:

Is it time to investigate Obama’s fraudulent credentials and find out who he really is and why he is taking the actions that he is?

Take heart, birthers, there will be more sunshine in the days to come.

Notes:

1The last time I needed a barf bag was crossing Lake Ladoga in a storm. Taitz is barfing over Obama as usual.

2As far as I was able to find, this is the only time Neil Turner was ever called a “civil rights leader.”

Turning dark

Mike Zullo spoke to the Surprise Arizona Tea Party Patriots November 18, and according to interviewer Sharon Rondeau of the Post & Email:

Zullo “said that the investigation that they started ‘turned very dark,’ whatever ‘dark’ means,” the individual added.

Indeed, what does that mean?

Here’s a quotation from the Associated Press just today:

A detective investigating the high school shooting in Washington state that left five teens dead says in court papers that the young shooter’s texts turned dark the week before he opened fire, with references to his funeral and the message: “Bang bang I’m dead.”

Writing in the American Journal of Forensic Psychiatry (2007) we see something similar in the Columbine school shooting:

Three days after his arrest, Klebold made one of his few entries into his diary. He wrote about his love for a female student and wondered if the feelings were mutual. But the note turned dark. He talked about suicide, blowing himself up with a bomb strapped to his neck.

I certainly hope that there is not some kind of murder-suicide pact about to be acted out by the Cold Case Posse!

Barry Cooper, a former drug enforcement officer said:

In fact, governments have always turned dark and corrupt which has always led to mass suffering.

Certainly there are suspicions of corruption in the Cold Case Posse, and they have clearly lied to the public about evidence. Still, I find it unlikely that Mike Zullo would be admitting this to his Tea Party audience.

Turning dark can be a sign of illness. In a chilling true story titled “Biohazard,” author Ken Alibek discusses a case of the Marburg virus:

By the fifteenth day, the tiny bruises on Ustinov’s body had turned dark blue, and his skin was as thin as parchment. The blood pooling underneath began oozing through. It streamed from his nose, mouth, and genitals.

Enough of that. Generally “turning dark” refers to reduction in light, nightfall, or a scene being obscured by smoke. It’s also associated with the end of an activity, such as a company going out of business (turning out the lights). A blog goes dark when it disappears from the web. “Going dark” in police jargon can refer to the failure of an investigation due to lack of evidence and leads. FBI Director James B. Comey spoke last month at the Brookings Institution of the conflicts between the need for privacy and criminal investigation:

Unfortunately, the law hasn’t kept pace with technology, and this disconnect has created a significant public safety problem. We call it “Going Dark,” and what it means is this: Those charged with protecting our people aren’t always able to access the evidence we need to prosecute crime and prevent terrorism even with lawful authority. We have the legal authority to intercept and access communications and information pursuant to court order, but we often lack the technical ability to do so.

It probably makes more sense to view the comment in some kind of context, and a commenter here reminded us of this quote from Carl Gallups 22 November 2013:

…the investigation has gone “deeper and darker” than they ever imagined…

I think that what Zullo intended was that his audience assume that the Cold Case Posse had uncovered some great evil in its investigation, but in fact to say nothing. Even back to the early Cold Case Posse press conferences, Zullo proved himself a master at leaving his audience thinking he said things he didn’t actually say. So as far as I am concerned, “turned dark” coming from Mike Zullo means exactly nothing.

I want to give credit to the Tea Party member who spoke to Rondeau. He didn’t jump to any conclusion about what Mike Zullo meant. I also want to credit Rondeau who, no matter what one thinks about her slant on things, does an outstanding job of getting birther stories.

This is the way March ends

not with a bang but a whimper

Weather lore says that March comes in like a like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Applied to birtherism, March came in with bluster and high expectations of the great denouement of the “O-bots,” the shattering of their universe. Here on the last day of March, let’s take stock of the month:

  • Orly Taitz endorsed by Pastor Manning, only to find herself joined at the hip with his homophobic street sign
  • Tea Party Nation repudiates Taitz claim of endorsement
  • CalGuns repudiates Taitz claim of endorsement
  • Michael Shrimpton video gets no traction
  • FBI evidence of theft by threat, witness tampering and felony obstruction of justice by Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported
  • Former Cold Case Posse member Brian Reilly describes unprofessionalism within the Cold Case Posse
  • Congressmen Labrador and Huelskamp express disinterest in Sheriff Joe investigation
  • Doug Vogt’s mysterious “friendly judge” does not come through
  • McInnish appeal denied by Alabama Supreme Court (7 – 2)
  • Larry Klayman faces Bar disciplinary action in DC
  • Birther Walter Fitzpatrick III jailed
  • Birther Lucas Daniel Smith reportedly jailed in the Dominican Republic
  • More delays in Taitz’ Mississippi lawsuit, strengthening Defense case for sanctions
  • Supreme Court declines to hear Robert Laity appeal.
  • Birther Report doesn’t go live with its new super secure server
  • No announcement from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office about an Obama investigation
  • No press conference, charges, investigative reports, or anything else of substance from Mike Zullo and the Cold Case Posse
  • Dow Jones Industrial Average up 136 points for the month of March
  • Universe pretty much the same

Check out my 2009 poem, “We are the Birthers.”

Now, let’s play the birther theme song!

FBI visits prominent birther

I’m still evaluating this breaking news story mentioned by a commenter. Al Hendershot, birther skip tracer from Alabama, and operator of “The Obama Hustle” web site reports that he received a visit from the FBI, who handcuffed him while they searched his place and took his computer.

I have nothing to hide

Hendershot cooperated with the FBI, he says, and now they tell him that he is not in trouble.

The incident seems to be related Hendershot’s reporting about a web site called exposed.su that had, among other things an alleged copy of Michelle Obama’s credit report. I have seen it, and it is the whole thing with bank accounts and credit card payments. Other persons whose reports were on that site include Robert Mueller, Director of the FBI, Hillary Clinton, Attorney General Eric Holder as well as other government officials and celebrities.

Hendershot, rather than chalking it up to the investigation about the credit reports, casts a more sinister birther-related spin on things:

Later on in the day I received some phone calls from people that I have been working with on the Obama issue.   They, the people that I spoke with said that my activities with the “Cold Case Posse” and my postings on Obama in The Obama Hustle along with the evidence that I have collected on him and his family probably had something to do with my visit from the FBI.

And they would know this how?

Hendershot says the he will keep on birthin’.

FBI Special Agent Arpaio?

According to Jerome Corsi writing in WorldNetDaily:

“I have no intention of resigning,” said Arpaio, who is running for his sixth term as sheriff of Maricopa County. “They forget I have a four-decades long career in federal law enforcement that includes having been a special agent for the FBI and having worked for the Drug Enforcement Agency in the United States, as well as in Argentina, Turkey and Mexico.”

Arpaio was never a “special agent for the FBI” although he was a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. So was this Jerome Corsi’s mistake, substituting FBI or FBN, or Sheriff Joe turning fantasy into fact. Arpaio wrote in his 2008 book Joe’s Law (p 132):

Since I was a boy, I had longed to join the FBI and be a real G-man.
