The great prediction

There are two predictions, actually, currently circulating among the birthers, but they both focus on the same event, Inauguration Day, January 20, 2017. Some birthers say that Obama will leave office before that day through the vindication of their beliefs about his eligibility (this is the “any day now” “frog marched out of the White House” faction), and others say Obama will not leave office on that day at all, but will try to stay in office beyond his term by manufacturing some kind of crisis. The “crisis” has been variously identified as an economic crisis, a terrorist crisis or as one Gerbil Report™ commenter named SMACK put it in Burma Shave sign form: EBOLA / THE PERFECT EXCUSE / FOR MARTIAL LAW / BANK.

Political commentator and conspiracy theorist, James Henry Fetzer, says:

The situation with Ebola is very strange indeed, because there are multiple indications that it’s some kind of fraud or hoax or scam being perpetrated on the American people. …

“There’s good reason to be skeptical about what’s going on here in the United States. And I am terribly troubled that they are trying to create a cause that is going to instill fear into the American people to justify imposing martial law here in the United States.

Fetzer doesn’t state a purpose for martial law in the US, but he does say that sending US Troops to Africa is being done to further US corporate interests. An alternate theory is that Ebola is real and Obama wants to punish America for slavery in its past. That was articulated by birther litigant and talk show host Dr. Laurie Roth in her article, “Vaccinations, Martial Law, Millions of Deaths on their Way”:

And what is the purpose of all this disease, lack of protection and border security??? It appears to be potentially the “full meal deal” for Obama and his goals. 1) Establish over the next few years mindless, dependent and UN-American foreign voters and supporters for Obama and his goals. 2) Punish America for her achievements by riddling her with diseases and maiming her children. 3) Create a guise to declare martial law due to created outbreaks. Control speech, food, travel and health care. 4) Demand adults and children take some sort of mandated/mystery vaccination that kills off even more people.

My prediction is that a forced vaccination plan from Obama and his administration is on its way. This will not only allow someone put in control (so Obama can’t be blamed) to release something potentially fatal into our system, but also act as a tracker — the complete end of our privacy and freedom.

David Hodges of “The Common Sense Show” expands on this theme in his article “The PSYOPS of the Coming EBOLA Genocide (Part 1)”:

It matters not if its Ebola that is going to rip through the country like a Tsunami coming ashore, or, whether it is the hastily prepared soon-to-be vaccines that are soon going to be thrust among us which will potentially devastate our collective  immune systems [not out precious bodily fluids?]. To those who are still debating if the Ebola crisis is a false flag, you are wasting time and you are causing the public to take their eye off of the ball. Does it matter if the Ebola is an instrument of oppression or it will be the vaccine that serves this purpose? The full or partial spread of Ebola is a prerequisite condition for the roll out of mandatory vaccines. Both Ebola and the subsequent vaccines are like “love and marriage”, as Frank Sinatra once said, “You can’t have one without the other”!

And if death from Ebola weren’t bad enough, some such as Kit Daniels at InfoWars have suggested, that “Gun confiscations” are “plausible government responses to an Ebola outbreak in America.” (You can find an abundance of other examples of this with search keywords like “Ebola martial law” and “medical martial law.”)

For the purposes of this article, it is the staying in office motive that is relevant, and that can be found in the article “Obama’s Disease-Infected America” by Mychal Massie published in WorldNetDaily on October 13.

I do not believe it was empty rhetoric when Dr. Ben Carson told Fox News host Chris Wallace that “there might not actually be elections in 2016. …” Carson did not specifically mention a pandemic of disease as the reason for same, stating instead the possibility of economic disaster and ISIS. I say, what could be more economically devastating than a disease pandemic and martial law to prevent a run on banks and to allow government-controlled media blackouts?

I will conclude with this image from the Infiltrated Nation web site:

Of course we can just wait until January 20, 2017 and see what happens, whether the birthers (and other right wing conspiracists) are vindicated or proven wrong. There is no satisfaction in that because they will have moved on to something else.

Taitz: Shrimpton wanted money

Michael Shrimpton is all the rage at Birther Report with their new article: “Bombshell: British Intelligence Advisor; Obama Born in Kenya In 1960; CIA DNA Test.”

Shrimpton’s CIA DNA test tale is quite old. I wrote about it the very first month of this blog, in December 2008: “CIA DNA Test Reveals Barack Obama was ADOPTED.” Both then and today, no evidence is offered for the claim, nor any plausible explanation for how anyone knows it. Commenter Dr. Ken notes that the Shrimpton reference to President Medvedev just assuming the presidency in the BR videos dates it back to 2008. Comparing what Shrimpton said in the video with my article, it appears that it’s the same story (for example the detail that alleges Ann Dunham wasn’t pregnant in July of 1961); however, searching for that original story on the Internet associated with Shrimpton’s name returned no results, suggesting to me that Shrimpton got the story from birther accounts on the Internet rather than the other way round.

You can read more details from Shrimpton in this  2012 article at Veterans Today: “Rejection of Obama by the Electoral College” (site is very slow today).

Some of the BR commenters note the lack of evidence, one saying: “Barrister Michael Shrimpton speaks some interesting words. Now he needs to come up with some proofs. Words are not proof of anything….words are only hearsay and speculation.”

Orly Taitz echoes the skeptical theme in an article/press release from her yesterday, “Barrister Michael Shrimpton contacted Attorney Taitz in 2013, however never provided any proof of his statements.” Taitz wrote:

British Attorney Michael  Shrimpton contacted Attorney Orly Taitz a year ago, on February 7, 2013. He claimed that there was a DNA test proving Obama was not connected to Dunhams, his maternal grandparents. When Taitz requested some proof, Shrimpton provided absolutely nothing. Further, Shrimpton was trying to get money from Taitz to bribe officials in Kenya. If he has a DNA test, why does he need to bribe officials in Kenya? Without any proof of his statements Shrimpton might be either an opportunist seeking money or working for a joined CIA-MI6 operation to try to discredit Taitz and others by bringing forward hoaxes. Shrimpton needs to provide some evidence in order to be believed.

Shrimpton is variously described depending on how you view him. Alex Jones had Shrimpton on as a guest on his InfoWars program and provided this brief biography:

Michael Shrimpton, of course, is a national security lawyer, that is barrister, in government matters. He’s written for the Journal for International Security Affairs. He has given advice and briefed the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, that’s the US Senate. He’s given speeches and consulted all over western Europe and the United States. And of course he’s been an invited guest of the State Department.

That program was about allegations that a UK bioweapons expert named David Kelly was murdered by the British government, rather than the official cause of death, suicide. The Wikipedia article on Kelly covers the controversy. Shrimpton also claims that former British Prime Minister Edward Health was a serial pedophile. Shrimpton asserts that the death of Conservative Party’s Christopher Shale was also a political assassination, as was the death of RAF Chief Sir Christopher Moran.

Objective biographical information on Shrimpton is not easy to come by—no Wikipedia article, for example. Citizen WElls News says Shrimpton’s Wikipedia profile was scrubbed. Wikipedia profiles are basically user pages, created by individual Wikipedia editors about themselves1. The Shrimpton profile was indeed deleted back in 2012. Wikipedia profiles are supposed to be created by the subject themself, and this one wasn’t, basically turning the profile page into a biography of a living person without sources. Here’s the deletion discussion (“BLP” is an abbreviation for “Biography of a living person).”

Shrimpton made the mainstream news in 1998 as the representative of a number of luxury car enthusiasts (Shrimpton drives a Bentley) who tried to stop the sale of Rolls Royce to Volkswagen by making higher bid, bankrolled by wealthy investors. In his book about the acquisition, Kidnap of the Flying Lady: How Germany Captured Both Rolls-Royce and Bentley, Richard Feast writes:

And, of course, there was Michael Shrimpton, now leading another consortium called Crewe Motors. His claim to have secured promises of cash worth £490 million could not be ignored … however much a diversion it would prove. In the knowledge that he could rely on institutional investors, if not private ones, to vote for the Volkswagen offer, Chandler called for an adjournment. This gave time to examine the validity of Shrimpton’s claims he had the necessary finance lodged in the Bahamas and Switzerland…. However, Vickers failed to find the proof it needed that the funds were in place.

I include the Volkswagen story primarily because it is about all I could find in the mainstream about Shrimpton.

I think the big question that casts doubt on Shrimpton’s tale is simply, “why would the CIA be testing Barack Obama’s DNA?” The obvious answer is that there is no reason for them to do it.

Shrimpton blogged at The Shrimpton Report during 2012.

Profiling Paul Ciancia

[We] believe the TSA is an unconstitutional Gestapo-like manifestation of an out of control police state.

Kurt Nimmo
at Alex Jones’ InfoWars

You might read the previous statement and think it could incite someone to violence against the TSA. You might think it was something a nut case right-wing conspiracy theorist would say. What you probably would not think is that the quote is part of a defense by people like Mr. Nimmo against being painted with the same brush as Paul Ciancia, the alleged shooter at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) reported to be carrying an AR-15 assault rifle, and a duffle bag containing a racist, sexist, homophobic note against the New World Order, The Federal Reserve and the TSA. The article ”SPLC and Raw Story Blame ‘Patriots’ for the LAX Shooting” is just such a defense.

The trail starts at the web site of the Southern Poverty Law Center, who published a story yesterday titled: “Alleged LAX Shooter Referenced ‘Patriot’ Conspiracy Theories.” In the story SPLC writer Mark Potok cites a police source for details of a note Ciancia was carrying. The article concluded:

Ciancia’s language and references seemed to put him squarely in the conspiracy-minded world of the antigovernment “Patriot” movement.

So-called Patriots also increasingly see the DHS, which produces intelligence assessments of extremists that are distributed to other law enforcement agencies, as an enemy and even a collaborator in the New World Order conspiracy.

While the SPLC hardly considers Paul Ciancia a patriot, “patriot” in quotes and “so-called” implies that he aligns himself with like-minded groups who consider themselves patriots. In Ciancia’s note he allegedly referred to himself as “p****d-off patriot.”

Rather than trying to appear moderate in contrast with Ciancia, Mr. Nimmo tries to distance himself from Ciancia by demonstrating that they share the same nut-case view of the TSA. He seems to prove the SPLC point by being the example of the so-called patriot embracing crazy right-wing conspiracies about the TSA and DHS.

In a way the SPLC has profiled Ciancia and placed in a category with certain anti-government groups. Profiling can be based on sound statistical methodology, long experience, or it can be a framework for confirmation bias. One can debate whether the SPLC profile in this case is accurate. But that doesn’t get us to the key question:

Is Ciancia a birther?

Remember that another right-wing shooter, James W. von Brunn, had been previously arrested for trying to kidnap members of the Federal Reserve, before he shot and killed a museum guard at the Holocaust Museum in 2009. Brunn was a birther. At that time DHS warned of a resurgence in right-wing extremism.

There are certainly birthers that share conspiracy theorist beliefs about the Obama administration and the New World Order.  People who believe conspiracy theories tend to believe more than one. It certainly would not surprise me to find that Ciancia’s a birther too, but I would not jump to that conclusion. Perhaps the full text of the note, not released, would clear the question up.

Before anyone gets too anxious, I would remind readers that an American is more likely to die as the result of being sat on by a cow than shot by a birther trying to eradicate the TSA. The crossed-out portion was based on something I read about 100 deaths a year from cattle sitting on people. In fact, pretty much nobody dies that way. There were 108 deaths between 2003 and 2007 where cattle were the primary or secondary cause, but not from sitting. Details of a survey containing that number appeared in the July 31, 2009 Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) published by the CDC. If disease and death is your thing, the MMWR is your go-to source.

Obama’s third term (not)

The 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution limits US Presidents to two terms in office. Since the Amendment’s ratification in 1951, US Presidents have left office quietly after their second term (or after losing their second term election bid). For normal folks, that’s the end of the story. For others, the unthinkable, like a modern third-term President, is always hiding in the wood pile.

Rush Limbaugh weighs in saying:

[Obama] has sympathy for dictators; he relates to them. He inherited his father’s Marxism. It’s not me saying this—it’s somebody from American Thinker, the Nigerian woman writing last week1, referring to Obama as an average African colonel. You have to wonder  if Obama is just trying to lay a foundation for not being a hypocrite  when he tries to serve beyond 2016. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if in the next number of years there is a move on the 22nd Amendment which term limits the President of the United States. He may not do it that way. He may not openly try to change the Constitution, but there might be this movement in the country from his cult-like followers to support the notion that a democratically elected leader, who is loved and adored, has carte blanche once elected, to just serve as long as he wants because the people demand it, because the people want it, because the people love it. And I wouldn’t put it past Obama to be plotting right now how to serve beyond 2016.

Well it would be nice if Obama did so well in his second term that everybody loved him and wanted him to stay on, but while on any given issue 20% of the population line up on the crazy side (whether it’s birtherism, climate change denial, belief in alien abductions or how 9/11 happened), there’s not enough of them to effect real change, like overruling the Constitution on a whim. Limbaugh, as usual, plays on the prejudices of his audience. Continue Reading →

Corsi’s Hawaiian mole

Phase of the birth certificate?

Jerome Corsi alleges that anonymous moles within the Department of Health in Hawaii told his investigator, back in February, 2011, of a plan by “Obama operatives” to insert a fake birth certificate into a blank position in the bound volume of Hawaiian birth certificates from 1961. Corsi was speaking on the Alex Jones InfoWars radio show today.

Yes you heard me right. Now of course this immediately brings to mind the question of what former Republican-appointed health director Chiyome Fukino found when she looked at the bound volume back in 2009 that led her to report that Barack Obama’s birth certificate was on file. Does this birth certificate wink into and out of existence with the phase of the moon?

Birthers like confirmation (it’s their  bias) and Corsi supposedly offers some in a zip file of articles (available on the InfoWars link above) he was preparing for WorldNetDaily that mention this Obama plot two months before the birth certificate appeared. Corsi says that the time stamps on the draft articles (in Microsoft Word format) prove his claim that he knew of the plot in February. Given that I wouldn’t had believed these fantastic tales in February, I don’t see how 3 months aging adds any credibility. There is nothing in the reports that demonstrates knowledge of anything in the public record today that was not in the public record in February. There is nothing “inside” or predictive in these reports.

It is of course possible to alter date stamps, but there’s no reason to assume they were altered.
