Hawaii bursts birther bubble

Dr. Fukino

Dr. Fukino

I guess the Hawaii Department of Health has gotten fed up with the birther nonsense, and their attempts to read between the lines of the statement last year from Dr. Fukino.  In a strongly worded, and unambiguous statement today, reported in the Honolulu Advertiser, Dr. Fukino said:

“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawai’i State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai’i State Department of Health verifying Barrack Hussein Obama was born in Hawai’i and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago….”

The birthers will go ape over that “natural-born American citizen” part, saying she’s not a constitutional expert, and that’s true. But she is an expert as to where Barack Obama’s birth registration says he was born.

Hard core conspiracy theorists speculated that Dr. Fukino is not talking about President Obama, but someone named “Barrack” (two R’s) Hussein Obama (the son of Barrack Obama Sr and Stannley Ann Obama). However, this typo was corrected in the version now posted on the state web site.

Obama Birth Announcement False (UPDATED!) (Updated Again!!)

…says Mississippi PI in a signed, but not notarized “affidavit.

Mississippi investigator Jorge L. Baro says that he swore (although the notary’s signature is blank) that some unnamed people he hired told him that they had talked to Beatrice Arakaki in Hawaii and that she told them that 47 years ago in 1961 there was no black baby living next door to her at the address in the Sunday Advertiser announcement of Obama’s birth.

#6085 Kalanianaole circa 1961 - Honolulu Advertiser

According to the Honolulu Advertiser, it was practice to get birth announcements from the Health Department via a news service, not from private submissions, as evidenced by that fact that two independent newspapers had the same announcement with the same announcements for other infants before and after. The announcement had to come from the Health Department, via the birth registration. So what gives?  Did they live there or not? It all becomes clear with careful reading and examination of the evidence.

Option A

Let’s assume for a moment that everything that Baro says about the interview is true (but not perhaps complete). (more…)

Alan Keyes Needs a Good Lawyer

I’m referring to an action filed by Dr. Orly Taitz in the case Alan Keyes, PhD., Wiley S. Drake, and Markham Robinson,  Plaintiffs v. Barack H. Obama, a/k/a Barack H. Obama, II a/k/a Barry Obama, a/k/a Barry Soetoro; Condoleeza Rice, in her capacity as Secretary of State; Robert Mueller, in his capacity as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and Michael W. Hager, in his capacity as Acting Director, Office of Personnel Management; and DOES 1-100 Defendants.

The action is filed based on a recent executive order by President George W. Bush titled “Granting Reciprocity on Excepted Service and Federal Contractor Employee Fitness and Reinvestigating Individuals in Positions of Public Trust.” [Federal Register (PDF)]

A good lawyer would accurately state the facts and the law. This isn’t the case here. (more…)
