The big WorldNetDaily advertising extravaganza at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is scheduled for tomorrow. Like last time, you have to give them an email address (and this time your name and zip code) to sign up and they will send you instructions (and email alerts forever more) on how to view the event, which is scheduled for 5:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time, July 17.

Much speculation has appeared as to what new or recycled birther rumor they will present under the stern gaze of Joe Arpaio, Maricopa County Sheriff and WorldNetDaily spokesperson. Sheriff Joe has decades experience in law enforcement  projecting authority and looking serious. One expects the Sheriff’s Cheap Detective1, Mike Zullo, to do most of the talking.

I’ve spent some time thinking about how this blog should report the birther story, and I realized that there is an important distinction between talk and action. President Obama releasing his long-form birth certificate was action.  My editorial stance is that talk is cheap and that actions speak louder than words. The Cold Case Posse to date has been all talk.

This is the article to discuss the “press conference.” I’ll add updates later.

You could always just use a use-and-throw-away email, it worked for me last time. Not sure I’ll bother with it this time.

  2. US Citizen says:

Fwiw, Peter Falk is dead and spelled his name without a U.

Why do you think they’re wanting names and phone numbers now? 😀

  4. donna says:

the last time, i think the day of you could just click on the link on wing nutzz daily – if you register in advance, you have to give them info

    phone number? here’s orly’s dental office phone number – (949) 766-7687

  5. Tomtech says:

The first trilogy will conclude with the worlds first pay per view press conference in late October.

BTW: I’ll use Orly’s cell phone number.

  6. donna says:

“BTW: I’ll use Orly’s cell phone number.”

    that’s why i posted it

    here’s trump’s # 212-832-2000

  7. Me too.

KDLarsen: You could always just use a use-and-throw-away email, it worked for me last time.

  8. richCares says:

“You could always just use a use-and-throw-away email”
I use gmail to do just that, I was thinking of using the same one so I logged in to it and it took 10 minutes to load, There were over 300 emails on it.

  9. Jim says:

hmmmm, wonder if I could use a dummy email address that forwards all the emails to WND?

  10. KDLarsen says:

I use gmail to do just that, I was thinking of using the same oneso I logged in to it and it took 10 minutes to load, There were over 300 emails on it.

Personally I’m not interested in giving WND anything that may be of use to them (and besides, I already have a regular gmail, getting anyother one would be a pita). Besides, I get some childish glee from the fact that every time they try to send anythng to the new defunct mail account, it’ll bounce on them.

As for the phone number, as others have mentioned, there are several publicly listed phone numbers to choose from – personally, I’d go with the White House switchboard phone #.

Incidently, this all reminds me of the time when the internet was in its infancy, and the only method most websites would have of blocking non-US viewers, was by having them input a US postal code. Unfortunately, this was also the time when Beverly Hills 90210 was still running. I chuckle at the though of the millions of people using that particular postal code. I know I used it to access Pandora, before they figured out how to block people based on their IP…

  11. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

Already seeing language on WND that suggests there is no proof, evidence, or shockers of any sort. No real surprise there. Is it just me or do birthers suffer from battered-wife syndrome, when it comes to sites like WND?

  12. Bob says:

    Tomorrow’s headline today:

    Layers!

  13. JPotter says:

    Tomtech: The first trilogy

Trilogy? This is, by my count, already Arpaio’s 4th birther “happening”. Don’t succumb to the “it all blurs together” amnesia. WND runs on that crap. Keep’em accounted and accountable!

His next “event” will complete a Pentateuch.

I believe there is a hearing with the Justice Dept on the 19th? Guess which was scheduled first?

Fearless predicction: Arpie goes down in flames (to some degree), and WND spins it as revenge for the revelation of the 17th. Sigh.

  14. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

How much you wanna bet they do something incredibly stupid, like present that article from “The Globe”?
I hope they do, the laughter from the audience will be deafening!

  15. Rickey says:

Interesting story at Phoenix New Times. An activist organization, Citizens for a Better Arizona, is demanding that various Arizona politicians take a stand on Arpaio’s “investigation.” One of the questions being asked is whether Arpaio has jurisdiction.

  18. Thomas Brown says:

    Here’s my prediction:

If Arpaio names a “forger,” he will either be dead or a birther.

He can’t very well accuse anyone of a fake crime who is alive and not part of the Obama-haters’ sick twisted crusade, can he?

  19. katahdin says:

    Andrew Vrba, PmG:

You can never underestimate John’s ability to bark like a seal whenever a new birther fish is waved in the air.

  20. donna says:

    “can he?”

i could create an entire episode of law and order – after signing the notarized confession, the forger was hit by a car and is currently hospitalized in a permanent vegetative state in a catholic hospital – since he had no end of life directives, the family is involved in a lengthy court battle which includes battling the catholic church

  22. Joe Acerbic says:

I predict that they will announce that the evidence will be presented at a later date because it’s so huge and hard that to get it out in the open, Zullo will need more time and Ex-Lax.

  24. donna says:

oh a new conspiracy – on 7/13, a 29-year-old member of President Obama’s re-election team collapsed at the campaign’s Chicago headquarters and later died – Alex Okrent, who began working for Obama during his 2004 U.S. Senate bid in Illinois, was a member of the paid media department, which handles advertising for the 2012 campaign.

  25. Arthur says:

  32. richCares says:

Soro’s told me no paycheck, it’s all over, Sheriff Joe revealed the forger, Obama will be arrested for sure, Sheriff Joe is so proud. All the birthers said “I told you so”, what, what’s that, he didn’t reveal the forger, are you kidding? Sheriif Joe let us down, I kant bereive it.

  33. donna says:

    Chef:

if obama were submitting a “forged” birth certificate, dontcha think he would have gotten the BEST forger? when someone is NOT lying, they don’t think about what the “birfoons” will think about it – i don’t begin to know what doc, etc know about ‘scanning” but i can visualize someone saying “reproduce the long form so we can get these idiots off our backs”.

  34. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

A staffer walked up to a Xerox multifunction device in the white house, lifted the lid, placed the document on the glass (hopefully with an appropriate amount of care), lowered the lid, selected his inbox, and hit the ‘SCAN’ button.

    That’s all it took.

I have provided links to white papers and patents detailing Xerox’s multi-raster compression algorithms before.

My company has a client that scans documents to us on a Xerox. One came in today. All the tell-tale signs are there. Bitmapped text layers, low-quality jpeg backgrounds, white halos, clipping paths, and layers, layers, LAYERS!!!

Cracks me up every time one comes in.

Unfortunately, these docs are confidential, so I can’t share. Anyone have access to a Xerox machine? I guess I could check around the local copy shops, but since birfers would simply retreat slideways to a nearby reinforcement meme, what’s the motivation?

  37. G says:

Good cartoon! Portman is extremely bland. I live here in Ohio and we’ve never had such a non-entity as him in office. He only became Senator due to the Tea Party wave election of 2010, not for anything of his own accord. The GOP could have run an empty box of cereal that year and the results would still have been the same. Also, the guy has ties to being part of Bush’s economic team…so where he isn’t boring, he’s just a negative.

But then again, Romney’s ego seems to point towards finding a running mate that won’t “outshine” him… that really sets the bar low and limits things. The only choice that would be even more effete and boring that Portman is Pawlenty. If Romney goes in either of those directions, it will easily be the most underwhelming ticket the GOP or any major party has put forward.

    JPotter: http://media.caglecartoons.com/media/cartoons/81/2012/07/11/114938_600.jpg

G: The GOP could have run an empty box of cereal

    I thought they did?

G: If Romney goes in either of those directions, it will easily be the most underwhelming ticket the GOP or any major party has put forward.

Exactly why it would have a great chance. It’s plain vanilla, ultra-bland, boring, safe. (Depending how you look at it; I think empty suits are dangerous) Plus the name Portman has some attractive associations.

I’m holding out hope for something more braindead / divisive on Romney’s part. I agree it is odd to have the cardboard cutout at the top of the ticket. That’s what the Veep slot of for!

If you didn’t notice, there’s a lot of stuff at the White House that’s done on the taxpayers’ dime. There are state dinners. There were tours at one time. The WH staffer who publishes the President’s tax returns is doing so while being paid by the taxpayer.

The freaking First Lady has a personal secretary. They end up responding to letters from the public, and they’re **gasp** printed and mailed at the taxpayers’ expense. When the President flies on vacation, the flight is made at the taxpayers’ expense whether it’s Obama going back to Hawaii or W coming in to Crawford.

That someone working for the federal government would be tasked for something like this is not exactly earthshattering.

  41. Paul says:

Hey all, no need to sign up with WND. I just saw this from ABC 15 in Phoenix:

Bing! First technical error. The 1 bit layers do not contain text. They contain images, including images of text and non-text.

  47. JoZeppy says:

    More layers….wow…that’s new.

  48. MattR says:

For the sake of argument, let’s assume that the PDF of Obama’s birth certificate posted on the Whtie House web site was created from scratch by a forger. Given that the State of Hawaii has provided an official certification that the information that is on it is correct, how would proof of that forgery change the fact that Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Hawaii?

P.S. Hey Zullo, no one wanted to touch it because of the “nature of the document” because there was no paper document to examine.

  49. justlw says:

On to the pencil marks, which I believe Doc has covered in detail.

OK, this is cool new info: Verna Lee is still alive!

  50. Xyxox says:

Man this is a load of crap. It’s like watching reruns.

  51. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

Hey, once Fife gets forcibly removed from his post as sheriff, where shall we get our laughs then? I ask because I can’t afford any more Rifftrax releases until next month. Though I wonder if Mike Nelson and pals could be persuaded to take a crack at riffing these pressers…

  52. Xyxox says:

Talking about the significance of the “number 9”, playing a Youtube now. Man, you can’t make this nonsense up.

  53. justlw says:

Ah. We don’t know why it says “9”, so clearly and unequivocally it was tampered with.

  54. Xyxox says:

So when do they indict? What’s that? They aren’t? It’s all a PR move because Joe goes to court later this week and Corsi is selling a book?

  55. justlw says:

Holy crap. They just threw every Hawaii birth certificate under the bus.

  56. Xyxox says:

Now replaying the lie that anybody could get an Hawaii birth certificate.

  57. JoZeppy says:

    Oh God….the unattended birth B.S.

  58. Xyxox says:

Man, nothing but a replay of crap that’s been debunked for over a year!

  59. justlw says:

So, will anyone there ask whether Hawaii would register a birth anywhere in the world as happening at Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu? And provide witness signatures?

    “Hawaii has a problem now.”

Can a state sue for slander?

  60. MattR says:

    Xyxox:
Man, nothing but a replay of crap that’s been debunked for over a year!

You have a link handy to the debunking of this particular piece of nonsense?

  61. justlw says:

Ah, so we now know that Zullo has at least applied for two law enforcement jobs.

  62. Xyxox says:

I had to bail. It was nothing but the same ole same ole replayed again for Birther joy.

  63. JoZeppy says:

what a surprise…he doesn’t understand what prima facie means in a legal context

  64. Xyxox says:

MattR: You have a link handy to the debunking of this particular piece of nonsense?

There are too many particular pieces of nonsense being spouted in the book release PR session for me to provide all of the links. I will suffice it to say that every point he has brought up has been debunked and all of the debunking has been compiled here.

  65. Xyxox says:

    JoZeppy:
what a surprise…he doesn’t understand what prima facie means in a legal context

He knows. He had to ignore it so he could help Corsi sell books to the birfoons and his boss could claim he was under political persecution when he goes to court later this week.

  66. JoZeppy says:

awww….let’s play up the “we’re being threatened” schtick.

  67. Rennie says:

Interesting attention-grabbing effort here. No one will listen to their usual blatherings so they have to up the stakes by accusing Hawaii of regularly issuing fraudulent birth certificates.

  68. justlw says:

He may or may not know what it means, but he sure can’t pronounce it: he keeps saying “prima facia

Heh, Arpaio was afraid Zullo might get rubbed out in Hawaii unless someone was packing heat.

Oooh, time for the vacation slides!

  69. Dave B. says:

Zullo just declared war on Hawaii.

  70. justlw says:

The posse was told that the hospital obeys the law. Sucks to be the posse.

  71. MattR says:

Paraphrased Zullo – We told the police we were going to be asking questions so why would they should up when we were endlessly harrassing employees of the Hawaii Dept of Health.

  72. justlw says:

Sure wish Zullo knew which year Obama was born.

  73. JoZeppy says:

Wow….a hospital refused to give a bunch of wahoos access to their records! Shocking.

  74. justlw says:

Hospital continues to follow privacy laws. Continues to suck to be the posse.

  75. JoZeppy says:

Perhaps Zullo should realize that when a police officer leaves his jurisdiction….he is just the public.

  76. MattR says:

More Zullo – “We are not the public. We are the police conducting an investigation that we have no jurisdiction to pursue. Now answer my quesitons, dammit.”

  77. JoZeppy says:

Hiding behind state statutes? You mean complying with the law?

  78. justlw says:

I’m sure this story was fascinating when he practiced it in the mirror.

  79. MattR says:

If the Assistant DA was able to keep a straight face during her entire meeting with Zullo, she deserves several awards and a hefty bonus.

  80. JoZeppy says:

Now Zullo is a mind reader, and knows what people think when they tell him exactly the opposite.

  81. justlw says:

Maybe if he was dressed as Gene Wilder as Willie Wonka.

  82. MattR says:

More Zullo-speak : “Based on the ADA refusing to answer my ridiculous hypothetical that was really a back door attempt to get the ADA to circumvent the law, we came to the conclusion that the Dept of Hawaii never provided a document to Obama so the one he posted must be a forgery”

  83. roadburner says:

zullo just accused the hawaii DOH of forgery!

    oops!

  84. JoZeppy says:

Because you’re not talking about a document!!!

The paper copy, however….that’s another story.

  85. justlw says:

How much debunked garbage is he going to dredge up.

  88. Dave B. says:

“The lowest form of evidence you can get”. I can’t even keep up with Zullo any more.

  89. justlw says:

I wonder if he’ll be bringing up the affidavit to the AZ SecState. I’m thinking “no.”

  90. JoZeppy says:

    Yeah!!!! Out of sequence…

It’s like the birthers’ greatest hits!

  91. roadburner says:

now it’s the out of sequence numbers…god what retards!

  92. JoZeppy says:

    Yeah! Digitially altered pictures!!!!

OMG!!!! Even that his parents aren’t his parents?

Sounds like they’ve been spending ALOT of time on YouTube brushing up on every nutter birther conspiracy theory.

  93. MattR says:

Wow. They tell you not to trust the newspaper birth certificates because not all births were announced in the paper. But they don’t offer any evidence that births announced in the newspapers didn’t actually happen. Sadly, too much of our country is logic impaired.

  94. justlw says:

Obama has caused the projector to fail. That’s How Deep It Goes.

    * Zullo got a sunburn

  96. Dave B. says:

Ooh, here it is– the doubt about who the parents really are. How low is he going to go?

  97. donna says:

“show uzzz the microfilm” so we can debunk that too

  98. Bran Mak Morn says:

    Got to love it.

No evidence. No new revelations. And — the big thing– the claim there would be the name of the forger has been shown to be a joke, too.

  99. MattR says:

Great first question – Why should we believe a word you say when your investigators work for companies that espouse conspiracy theories?

  100. JRC says:

  121. MattR says:

  122. Dave B. says:

Now he wants his alleged forger brought to justice. Exactly what Arizona Statue does he say has been violated?

  123. DP says:

“Now he wants his alleged forger brought to justice. Exactly what Arizona Statue does he say has been violated?”

Letting a black man be President is the clear and self-evident crime that’s eating away at them.

True, Mikey, but not in the way you meant.

  125. Daniel says:

Well that was a whole lot of the same old nonsense. What happened to the explosive new evidence?

  126. DP says:

So this is just basically maligning an entire state. Because, after all, everyone knows the percentage of white people in Hawaii isn’t enough to make them real Americans.

  127. JRC says:

That was hilarious and sad at the same time. That there are idiots that actually believe this birther bull crap in the U.S.

  128. JRC says:

Daniel the explosive evidence is that the birthers believe the 9 on the forged document. They don’t believe anything else on it, and it’s forged, but that 9 means something on that irrelevant forged document.

  132. Sam the Centipede says:

Oh my! What a vile nasty pair of lying racists! Arpaio wants to pass his pile of taitz onto someone. He’s thinking of Congress, but surely there’s a shredder in his office?

Zullo says he and his fellow lying racists identified themselves when visiting Hawai’i – I guess he means they wore their clown suits, or does he mean they carried torches and a flaming cross?

Why aren’t Zullo and Arpaio both behind bars … yet?

  133. MattR says:

    JRC:
Daniel the explosive evidence is that the birthers believe the 9 on the forged document. They don’t believe anything else on it, and it’s forged, but that 9 means something on that irrelevant forged document.

And they know that ‘9’ is significant because of a conversation they had on the phone with a 95 year old woman who wasn’t looking at the exact same document that they were (and was presumably relying on memory for her answers about codes and procedures from 40+ years ago)

  134. Sam the Centipede says:

I noted the way Arpaio tried to intimidate the Channel 5 reporter at the end (I couldn’t hear the question that annoyed him).

He loves to bully people; that seems to be what he lives for.

    Get a move on, DoJ!!

  135. Judge Mental says:

Didn’t Doc C establish a long time ago that the pencil notation 9 indicated “other” ie everything not specifically covered elsewhere in the numbering key code?

This is subtly different from what Zullo is suggesting ie that the number 9 only covered blank entries. if “African” didn’t meet the criteria for inclusion in any of the remaining number codes, number 9 would have been quite correct.

It is easy to imagine how whatever the 95 year old Mrs Lee said in a telephone call in response to a question the wording of which we also don’t know could be twisted to mean what Zullo/Corsi would like it to mean as the two meanings are relatively close to each other.

  136. JRC says:

Sam, he asked if Joe was going to pull over Obama’s motorcade and check his papers (to paraphrase) LOL

*edited to add* the next time the President is in his county. 🙂

He asked if Arpaio would be pulling over the President’s motorcade to ask him to prove his citizenship/immigration status.

  138. BillTheCat says:

Wow there is a distinct lack of John here today, golly surely he wasn’t too busy to watch his hero relay this most explosive evidence! John? John where are you?

#9 always indicates ‘not stated’ and would have been double checked by a person whose job was to verify this forms. its hard to mess up.
plus, had ‘african’ actually been written onto a long form in the 60s the ‘verifiers’ probably would have started to laugh, having never seen such a race described on a lfbc previously as he would have been referred to has ‘negro’ for gov’t purposes.

    Hi there, Donna

The Doc’s explanation continues to fail to explain #9, ie. how ‘African’ could have possibly made its way onto a document that was it checked by at least two people who would have quickly corrected the field to ‘negro’ had that been the case
    OR
the field was blank, as #9 indicates for the ’61 coding Doc posted and ‘African’ was added later.

What does Doc make of this?

If you read the link right above your comment, you will see that Doc C got a hold of the official instructions related to the coding of these fields and ‘9’ indicates ‘other (nonwhite)’ and not blank as Zullo says the 95 year old Verna Lee indicated to him. There is nothing surprising that African and/or Negro would be used to describe the father, but other (nonwhite) is used for the mixed race child (EDIT: oops. Did not realize that they coded African as other (nonwhite), but that too is not that surprising if the father was trying to differentiate from an American black man (aka Negro))

PS. Yes, the verifiers might have laughed at ‘African’. But how many births do you think they registered in Hawaii for a child with a parent born and raised in Africa?

PPS. Should have read to the bottom and realized this was a 9/11 truther as well which means he is totally immune to logic and reason.

Back in 2008, the media asked the Hawai’i Department of Health about “African” being listed as the father’s race. Kurt Tsue at the HDOH said that father’s race and mother’s race are supplied by the parents, and that “we accept what the parents self identify themselves to be.”

First off, I didn’t hear a peep out of Ms. Lee, and to be honest, considering the volumes of B.S. from Zullo, I really don’t trust is version of any converstation….and if you really think that a 90 year old woman remembers what the coding for one particular block of a birth certificate was 50 years ago, you really are a gullible chap (besides, coding has been examined here before…again, back to that point of this press conference being nothing more than a rehash of long debunked birther theories).

DaveS: plus, had ‘african’ actually been written onto a long form in the 60s the ‘verifiers’ probably would have started to laugh, having never seen such a race described on a lfbc previously as he would have been referred to has ‘negro’ for gov’t purposes.

Clearly….sad that someone can orchestrate this massive conspiracy lasting over 50 years, without anyone ever being implicated in it, but yet they can’t get a decent forger…that makes sense.

But why is it not weird to have ‘African’ indicated if this isn’t showing up on any other BCs of the era, or hawaii specifically and why is it not in the coding?

Here’s the thing. Arapaios’ gang did not get their hands on a set of instructions. They relied on a phone conversation with a 95 year old woman. If you trust a 95 year old’s memory more than contemperaneous documents, that is up to you. (EDIT: FWIW, by 1968 the coding had been changed so that ‘9’ did in fact indicate ‘unknown or not stated’. So it is quite possible that Ms Lee is remembering the wrong set of codes)

As Jamese777 pointed out, the dept of Hawaii accepted however the parents chose to self identify. The point of the coding is to take the nearly infinite possibilities that can come from that and convert that to a small, finite set of values. Therefore I would not expect to see every possible answer having its own code. Perhaps African should have been coded to ‘Negro’ or perhaps ‘other (nonwhite)’ makes sense. Either way, I don’t think it is unreasonable that either of those two values would have been chosen and there is nothing suspicious about the decision to use ‘9’ over ‘2’

Actually, I was really hoping there’d be new information. You may have noticed I was truly delighted to hear that Verna Lee was still with us. I’d love to ask her if my theory is true: that she intentionally “slurred” her first initial to a U, as a fun thing for new parents to discover on the BC.

…but as far as the “forgery” side of the story is concerned, there wasn’t any new information.

Again, you may have noticed that this was explained here: the pencil marks have been discussed and dismissed long ago, and the “investigators”‘ inability to get over that they’re subject to the same privacy laws as the rest of us does not constitute “explosive evidence.”

I don’t but I would like to rewatch the end. I mentioned it above, but I am just realizing that the CCP is starting with the assumption that the State of Hawaii provided a PDF copy of the birth certificate to Obama so he could post it on the Internet. The rest of us recognize that the State of Hawaii provided a printed document to Obama who then arranged for it to be scanned and posted to the Internet (in addition to showing the paper copy to a couple reporters). Zullo seems to believe that posting that scanned copy, even while clearly indicating that it was a scanned copy of a paper original, constitutes criminal fraud and/or forgery. At least I think that is correct, but I would need to rewatch to confirm that (though honestly I don’t know if my brain can handle being forced to listen to that a second time)

I must’ve blocked that possibility out of my head before now because it is just so ludicrous. OTOH, some of their other ridiculous assertions and their answers to questions make a whole lot more sense now that I know the crazy assumptions they are operating under.

You…JoZeppy….anyone else tout the official storyline for 9/11? (Is there a site where the Doc debunks that as well?)

JoZeppy brought up Bin Laden hahah even the i pet goat ii guys know there is a mountain of evidence supporting Bin Laden being a CIA creation gone bad, but certainly no mastermind
You’d also be ignoring the dozens of doctored pentagon 9/11 photos, eyewitness testimonies as to multiple explosions, some beneath them (in the basement), next to zero debris from either the pennsylvania and the pentagon especially but WTCs as well as far as super exotic alloy components within the jet turbine (much of it) that don’t come close to melting in such fires and an endless string of unimaginable coincidences including several dozen israeli suspects being detained in the hours and days following 9/11 only to simultaneously be released weeks later with no info given as to why they were detained in the first place or why they were all released.
The fact that many of you tout the official 9/11 story as ‘the truth’ greatly damages the credibility of this site, imo.

But, the good news is that today you’ve got a convert.

I now believe it is possible Barry’s BC was not a forgery.
    Sadly, this changes nothing.

  186. ellen says:

An obvious point that has not been discussed: The sheriff did not prove that Obama was not born in Hawaii or that he was born somewhere else. In fact, the Sheriff did not even try to prove either of those facts.

  187. justlw says:

    BillTheCat: MCSO’s press release:

Chock full o’ fail, as you might expect.

Under Hawaii statute, a person only has to be an established resident of Hawaii, not necessarily a U.S. citizen, in that state and pay taxes there for one year to be able to register an out of state or foreign born person with an official Hawaii birth certificate.

The law, Hawaii Revised Statute 338-17.8 states:
“Upon application of an adult or the legal parents of a minor child, the director of health shall issue a birth certificate for such adult or minor, provided that proof has been submitted to the director of health that the legal parents of such individual while living without the Territory or State of Hawaii had declared the Territory or State of Hawaii as their legal residence for at least one year immediately preceding the birth or adoption of such child.”

Sheriff Arpaio and his investigators have grave concerns about this Hawaii Revised Statute believing it could be a gaping loophole that makes it possible for foreign born people to legally establish U.S. citizenship even if neither parent is an American citizen.

Well, no. Because the certificate the State of Hawaii would issue would say, “This person was born in such and such a foreign country or state other than Hawaii.”

It would not say, as the CCP is hoping you’ll think, “This person was born at Kapiolani Hospital at this very specific date and time, as witnessed by this person.”

  188. G says:

What he was looking for was a document publicly releasable without heroic efforts. He did find the vital records log, so you’re doubly incorrect here.

“Who really started it” was discussed here not too long ago, with the evidence being that it was not the Hillary camp.

If you can’t figure out that a website named ObamaConspiracy.org is dedicated to conspiracies about President Obama, then it is not much surprise you can’t figure out what happened on 9/11.

  210. Scientist says:

DaveS: So, where was the President born, if he wasn’t born in Hawaii? Do you actually believe his mother flew 12,000 miles for 3 days to a third-world country that was still recovering from an independence struggle where she didn’t know a soul just to drop a baby and then hightailed it home, somehow sneaking the baby in through Canada or Mexico or something? That’s a ridiculous story. Even you can see that right? So, we can be certain he wasn’t born in Kenya.

In fact, the only story that actually makes sense is the really boring one, where he was born where his mother lived (as 99.99999% of people are) and all the information on the certificate is correct. And since common sense says that is what happened, why forge it?

You really need to use the brain you were given and think about what actually makes sense.

The reason you don’t see more serious comments is that most people posting here and following this issue have been over every single point many times before and there is no new news to debunk.
For example, Governor Abercrombie’s trip to the Department of Health was easily explained by Fox News” a year ago. Abercrombie was looking in the wrong place.
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/04/27/obama-birth-certificate-moved-secure-location-months-ago/
Since Hillary Clinton was running against Barack Obama in the primaries, it made perfect sense for her campaign to look for whatever they could find out about Obama. They found nothing, gave up (as did the McCain campaign) and today Hillary works for the President as his Secretary of State.
If someone were to actually come up with something relevant that is new, I’m sure you would see serious discussion of that information here but rehashed old discredited rumors and innuendos? Not so much.

david: I read about 20 comments, absolutely zero analysis of evidence here. Peanut gallery in hi self congratulatory mode, I was hoping for some real debunking.

See, your own statements only serve to show how ignorant you are. The COLB which he initially released to the public in 2008, ( which NO other candidate nor president before had ever released, by the way), IS the ONLY OFFICIAL birth certificate form provided by the state of HI. That has been their only official form and format for well over a decade.

The LFBC that he asked for in 2010 had to be generated by special request and permission, as a permittable discretionary exception within HI laws. It wasn’t necessary and only served to confirm EVERY bit of data already known from the COLB. Which of course is another *DUH*, as the information generated on both forms comes from the same source data.

There WAS nothing else to release. NOR was the LFBC ever necessary. Simple as that.

david: Come on people, the only way to end this is to stop the jokes and snide remarks and offer real insights into why a brief BC receipt was offered as the real Mccoy for two yrs and the anti- birthers swore there was nothing else to release,

Again, you demonstrate that you are simply a gullible conspiracy nut, with no actual knowledge, beyond what you read off of amateur conspiracy sites. There was no LFBC to “find”. It had to be created from the original source document, which is NEVER released for anyone.

You are incorrect about the Abercrombie situation too: He vowed to inquire about getting it released and did just that. The inquiry came back that he does not have the authority to access nor release original vault birth documents either, regardless of who they are for.

So there was nothing he couldn’t “find”, because he never actually “looked”. He asked if he can access such things and was told “no”. Welcome to reality – NO is a valid answer and the HI DOH is tasked with protecting and maintaining ALL source documents under their purview, for ALL citizens.

You are a gullible and irrationally paranoid fool.

david: Then the gov elect of Hawaii swears he will find the long form BC ( since by this time there was a murmuring that it did exist, it had not been destroyed after all) …Abercrombie then searched and came up with zilch.
Later it was found again and was presented online , about two days after the Bin ladin thing, Can one really be smug about this when the sand beneath your feet shifts so much?

Not her “camp”, no. You simply mean the pathetic PUMAs – a bunch of independent supposed Hillary “followers” on the internet, who did nothing but come up with whiny excuses for why their “Dear Hillary” lost the Primaries…or for why they hated Obama.

Most of the PUMAs voted for McCain in the last election and then moved onto become Birthers, Tea Partiers, Palinistas, etc. Regardless of what many of them”claimed” to be before that point in time, they primarily vote only GOP since 2008…so their claim to be “democratic voters” is tenuous and suspect, at best.

So there really is no difference between the pathetic and irrational kookiness on display, from the PUMAs and Birthers – just a bunch of nobody derangement-syndrome suffering bitter folks on the internet, who come up with a mythology of excuses for their tantrums.

david: Remember , it was Hillary’s camp that began the birther issue, mostly.

BC receipt? What BC receipt? Apparently you are confusing Obama’s short form birth certificate (which in format closely resembles my New York birth certificate) with a “receipt.” This is not a receipt. It’s an actual birth certificate.

    http://factcheck.org/Images/image/birth_certificate_images/birth_certificate_2.jpg

As for Abercrombie, if you want to be taken seriously here you need to get your facts straight. Abercrombie never promised to “find” or produce the LFBC. He said that he would look for something which he could release which would prove that Obama was born in Hawaii. After he took office, Abercrombie was advised that there was nothing in the DOH records which he could release without running afoul of Hawaii law, so he dropped it.

Again, answers you could easily find for yourself (such as the vast array of archives addressing and thoroughly debunking all of the Birtherism nonsense), if only you weren’t such a lazy fool.

This led to a quick check on the net to see if she’s that hard to find (probable answer: no. After all, even the CCP could find her).

I hate to give people any kind of a clue, but I figure it’s too late, anyway. I also am pessimistic that Corsi and company bothered to give her any kind of a warning that she should take some immediate steps to protect her privacy.

Or: “State and federal authorities involved in massive cover-up.”

Or: “Every single birth certificate in Hawaii is suspect? (Say it ain’t so, Don Ho.)”

Or: “Why is the entire world ignoring us!!!!???”

Each of them would reflect the impression left from Tuesday’s press conference but wouldn’t tell the REAL story. The only proper headline to accompany a sideshow like the one put on by Arpaio and his cronies on Tuesday would have to be:

“All Crimes in Maricopa County Solved!”

After all, if there were actual criminals perpetrating actual misdeeds within the sheriff’s jurisdiction would he have time to engage in another birther extravaganza?

    No.

So, every crime must be solved. Every investigation must be completed. He must have NOTHING else to do.

And there must be no other potentially embarassing news event pending from which the sheriff would like to divert attention.”

  240. G says:

Welcome to America. You are entitled to your opinion and are freely able to vote for whoever you chose. Simple as that. No one here cares who you chose to vote for or “needs” your vote. That is your right and that is all that needs to be said on the issue.

There is no need for you to buy into and spread a bunch of nonsense myths, simply as an excuse to cover for your personal tantrum of not liking a particular candidate. Grow up.

Folks like you simply can’t deal with the simple reality that in any election, someone wins and the rest lose. You are not entitled to get the candidate of your personal choice. Welcome to how democracy works in a diverse nation full of over 300 million different people. That is how elections have always worked, so stop acting like an immature baby about it. Deal with it.

DaveS: He’s a loser. He needs to go.

  241. G says:

Yep. That pretty much sums it up.

The only thing to add is that there hasn’t really been anything “new” in a very long time now…

…so all that we are left with is mild entertainment at watching the endless car-crash retreads from Birtherism, that simply look like all the car-crashes that came before….

Jamese777: If someone were to actually come up with something relevant that is new, I’m sure you would see serious discussion of that information here but rehashed old discredited rumors and innuendos? Not so much.

You only have yourself to blame for coming across like an idiot here. That’s what happens when ignorant people shoot their mouths off, with no clue or factual basis to back them…

So no, we don’t need to be polite to new people who introduce themselves by loudly and arrogantly proclaiming their own ignorance and irrational paranoia.

All you do is quickly peg yourself as a discredible nutter, and incapable of having a real adult conversation.

Just for the heck of it. I just checked the priceline.com, hotwire.com, expedia.com and orbitz.com for flights from Hawaii to Mombasa, Kenya. In 2012, to go from Honolulu International Airport (HNL) to Mombasa – Moi International Airport (MBA), one would need to take at least 4 different flights. A trip requiring 3 flights would cost around $6000. Again, this is year 2012! I can’t even imagine the number of flights Obama’s mother had to take in 1961 IF she had actually traveled to Kenya from Hawaii, delivered Obama and hightailed back to Hawaii so she can register her son as a US citizen. I doubt Dunhams could have afforded the trip much less allowed their 18-year-old pregnent daughter to leave the country. Above all, America is a land of opportunity. People risk their lives to get here. Why would a woman go half way around the world so her child will be a citizen of a poor country with so many problems in 1961. On all counts, birthers are insane!

Yeah, all true, but you forgot about all the flying saucers back then that could fly non-stop from Mombasa to Hawaii.

  250. G says:

Actually, outside of where one’s personal patience will always vary their reactions, my method of reaction to these folks has been fairly consistent, since the beginning.

It mostly comes down to cause and effect: My attitude in response is often a counter-reflection of the attitude that the poster is giving off.

This particular clown happened to come in like a bull-in-the-china-shop and quickly went off the rails on Truther rants…so he quickly established several reasons to not be taken seriously or be shown much patience, in return.

But you are correct in noticing that with time and experience, it becomes quicker to see through these nutters and their disingenuousness. Some may view that , as hardening cynicism. I would say it is well-founded cynicism.

Bottom line: I have little tolerance of arrogant ignorance and have traditionally shown harsher responses to those that come here with an attitude. Those that are able to (at least for awhile), put on a more adult and sincere argument, are merely given more chances and softer latitude by me, in return. So, my treatment of various posters here has fairly followed that pattern in a consistent manner, all along.

SluggoJD: \Man, you’ve come a long ways from those days when you were so nice to every racist a$$ole that showed up.

You’ve got to think outside the box. The most obvious solution to this problem is that Stanley Anne was brought aboard USS Nautilus when she was at Pearl, and the CIA arranged to have her brought to Kenya and back via nuclear submarine. Now some of you truthy types will tell me that during the early sixites, Nautilus spent all her time in the Atlantic and the Mediterrean. Go ahead, believe what the government tells you. But when you’re ready to leave the Matrix, I’ll be waiting with the Kool-aid. Wait, did I just mix up my pop-culture references?

You split it between your responsibilities, your hobbies, and catering to your survival needs (eating, drinking, sleeping, and hygiene, though I guess that could be categorized as a subset of responsibilities).
