Obama exit rumors persist

According to the Rumor Mill News, Barack Obama is on his way out and soon. Hillary will be run for President in 2012 in his place.

Washington DC knows it already and it should start appearing in various newspapers soon.

More birther fantasy. I wonder if that could be made into a haiku?

Oh it gets better…..they expect Bill Clinton to miraculously step in as a “place holder” President……

Then I found out that the 22nd amendment… the one that only allows a president two elected terms… says NOTHING about putting a president in to be a place holder until the next election.

In other words, it is possible under our Constitution and the Amendments for Bill to finish out the last year of Obama’s term.

Yeah, it’s about as possible as me suddenly turning into the long lost twin of Angelina Jolie, complete with pouty lips and fabulous Brad Pitt lookalike boyfriend/partner.

    Obama is gone.
    Hillary will run instead.
    Any. Minute. Now.

I’d like to know WHERE he found that out. Another birther told him? While he’s busy mangling the 22nd amendment, someone should tell him to go over and have a little look-see at Article II Sec. I, and 3 U.S.C. § 19.

Why is it that people who consider themselves the Champions and Protectors of the US Constitution are so full of stupid about what it says? If we held a Constitutional Trivia contest between the Great Usurper on the one side, and a stadium full of birthers on the other, I’d lay my life savings on Obama, and it’d still be a sucker bet.

Apparently, they also missed the 25th Amendment:

. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

I guess they can’t grasp that detail. Yet another example of how dumb the birthers are.

  7. katahdin says:

If Hillary ran for president next year, the country would see a huge lightbulb turn on, as all the Republicans in America suddenly remember how much they hate her.

Norbrook: I guess they can’t grasp that detail.

No, they’re just hoping their absurd claim of “Biden can’t become President because he was part of that fraudulent ticket” somehow matches reality.
In fact, today, contrary to 3 years ago, birthers have mostly settled for “it’s not just Obama who will be removed, the entire government will go to jail”.

Heck, all the various liberal bloggers who have been pounding the keyboard about Obama being a failure/sellout/Republican would suddenly remember that she had pretty much the same platform when she ran, and join in with hating her!

In the Birther dimension, this is called “restoring the Constitution.”

And do not forget the Bush government, because they allowed it to happen. That is why some birthers (they are not all right-wing Republicans) are thinking Bill could take over

By the way, it has been argued that the 22nd Amendment does not stop an ex-president who did his time under the Amendment, from succeeding to the Presidency through place holding through the line of succession (think nuclear or terrorist attack) because the Amendment uses the phrase “be elected to the office” and not “serve as”.

More controversially, in 2008, some people even argued that Clinton could even run as Vice-President, since the elections for President and Vp are clearly separate.

I agree that with Hillary having to be sent to jail to make it possible, the chances of ever seeing Bill in charge are very, very close to zero.

And they believe that McCain and Palin will just be installed as President and Vice President because they came in second place.

No, most of them have thrown both McCain and Palin under the bus already because neither of them “speaks up in public about the usurper”.
Their majority seems to believe that the military can/should install a temporary President until “special elections” (meaning “only WASP birther candidates need apply”) can be held.
