Commenting @ Orly

Last October I did an article, “Max(Orly)” about Orly Taitz’ blogging activity, how many articles she published on a daily basis. As of that time, she had published a whopping 12,314. Building on that effort, I did a new report, this time on Orly’s commenters.  Here are some statistics as of today, March 2, 2013:

The very first comment [link to Taitz blog] on Orly’s blog was by imanamerican on April 22, 2009, saying about an upcoming march on Washington:

September?!! Why not tomorrow?

The most prolific commenter, as you might guess, is Orly Taitz herself with 3829. The runner up is Veritas with 1422, followed by The Phoenix, John, Starla, Redd, Elizabeth, The Truth, Phil, RacerJim, and hippybiker.

Here are some of the odder commenter names I found:

Sounds like Bart Simpson’s crank phone calls to Moe’s Tavern.

  2. Bob says:

I’d guess that at least 75 percent of the supportive comments she puts through are parody. I’d like to know the ratio of Comments Received to Comments Put Through.

I think she’s hurting for sane, genuine comments.

  3. The highest comment ID on Orly’s web site is a little over over 264,000. If she gets 1/3 spam like I do, then it would be 176,000 non-spam comments. That calculation says that she approves about 1/3 of the non-spam comments.

Another way to look at it is that this web site has comment-ID numbers around 252,000 (roughly the same as Orly) but I have three times as many approved as she does. That’s sort of a sanity check.

Those numbers are rough but I think the 1/3 approval number probably isn’t all that far off.

I’d like to know how her money trail works…where it comes from, where it goes. Could she get nailed for embezzlement? That would make her look like a con woman instead of a martyr.

That’s how the Feds tore up Fritz Kuhn of the German-American Bund and David Duke of the Klan. They were using their donations not for their political work, but to fuel mistresses (Kuhn) and gambling trips to Mississippi riverboats (Duke). The latter was a “whale.” Every night a limo from one of the riverboats would pick him up and he’d take the day’s donations (cash or cashed check) and study the laws of probability, often accepting cards dealt (gasp!) by black and Latino female dealers.

Orly has got to be doing something similar to maintain her lifestyle.

You’re new here, so I feel bad for snickering at your statement. You will soon find that Orly’s computer skills are far behind her legal skills.

Hey, I don’t read her web page…I like to keep my dinner inside my stomach. Nor do I want to get spam and harassment from her or her fan club. So I’ll take your word for it.

From what I’ve read here, she doesn’t have much skill as a dentist, either.

  17. Taitz uses WordPress. Out of the box one can set up lists of keywords. One list puts the comment in moderation. The other puts it in the spam folder. The keywords (or phrases) can match the text of the comment, the commenter name, the commenter email or the commenter IP address.

One can also set WordPress to put all comments into moderation. I think Orly does that.

Kiwiwriter: She may have software that punches out certain words or phrases. I’m not a computer expert, though.

  18. Mitch says:

I’m kinda disappointed that “Mike Hunt” isn’t there.

  19. Andrew Vrba, PmG says:

Occasionally I post there as Bradley Michael Fahrtz (B.M. Farts), attempting to rile up her suspicious nature.

  20. For those interested in the methodology:

I wrote custom code (in Delphi XE) to crawl the Taitz web site, and enter information about each comment into a Microsoft SQL Server database. The statistics were calculated using SQL entered in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

What I subsequently did was to write an analysis program just to look at commenter types, whether they were normal names, sexually explicit pranks, birthers, Obots, spam or fictional characters. Here’s a screen shot of that program. It reads from the database and optionally lets me see the original comment (the text of the comment isn’t in the database) in an embedded web browser. Eventually, should I actually get through all 9,000 entries, I’ll have statistics by type of commenter.

Note that in my reporting, I’m not mentioning any commenter names that I think are real people. I realize that these are on her web site for all to see, but they are not quite in “plain sight” when they are 1,000 pages back.

  21. He is.

A friend who has passing knowledge of the birthers (what he reads in the news, does not follow blogs or forums) once mused that her husband probably thinks funding her quest would be cheap at twice the price if it keeps her occupied.

I’m not sure I can argue with his theory.

If I am correct about David Duke, he was embezzling campaign funds for personal use — the same thing that nailed Jesse Jackson Jr. — but Orly is using funds sent for a non-official purpose, to pursue her birther jihad. I’m not aware of any campaign finance-type laws that would apply. One might try civil fraud lawsuits, but there are a couple of problems there. Orly obviously does spend a lot of money on her jihad, which is what she asks people to click the PayPal for. And second, most of her benefactors must be small donors, so the cost of litigation would far outweigh any recovery for any individual litigant.. And a class action would require multitudes of birthers to suddenly see the light at the same time, and that ain’t going to happen.

  29. The Magic M says:

genius: Herman Cain is a 1000 times better qualified candidate for America’s president…

I wonder why you peeps always feel the need to claim there is a black candidate you would support. Your fear of showing yourself to be a dimwit racist must really be rooted deep in your subconscious.
(E.g. I have no problem claiming Gerhard Schroeder was a better German chancellor than Angela Merkel, I don’t have to pretend there was a female candidate who I’d support just because I fear being called misogynistic.)

Listen, “genius”, nobody has a problem with you claiming Romney would have been a better choice for president, nobody calls you a racist for that. But when you call Obama an “animal”, you show your racist colors.

  30. sfjeff says:

But when you call Obama an “animal”, you show your racist colors.

It is my experience is if you let Birthers post enough, they all too often let down their superficial persona and let the real racist come through.

My favorite is a Birther who occasionally ends up calling Obama or Michelle “Buckwheat” and acts all surprised when I point out that is a racially charged term for any African American.

  31. genius: The blank headed genius that attempts to present valid information about the qualifications of a complete FRAUD in the white house

No, that’s GW Bush. See Iraq.

genius: FRAUD in the white house needs to be sent to a re-education camp of some sort.

Thanks for confirming that FEMA camps exist.

genius: Herman Cain is a 1000 times better qualified candidate for America’s president… he EARNED what he has achieved using his brains and NOT HIS COLOR …

Making pizza is a qualification for president? Just look at GW Bush…never mind.

genius: Keep supporting that white house liar and animal… because in the end he will pay the price for his FRAUD that he perpetrated on the American people

GW Bush and Darth Cheney got comfortable retirements, which is more than the troops they sent to Iraq did. Talk about fraud.

  32. JD Reed says:

I didn’t think of the tax evasion angle when I fired off the previous post. If Orly took donations contending they were tax-exempt to her, but converted them for personal living expenses, then she could be in deep trouble, assuming the IRS could prove its case.
Of course, when she gallivants off to Hawaii or Indiana, I guess she could claim that her travel, lodging and meals costs are not countable as taxable income.
I think the California bar’s disciplinary committee has a far stronger case against her, if only it would act.

  33. Thinker says:

Her husband seems to take a hands-off approach to Orly’s birfing. He and his company have been sued more than once in the inter-birfer feuds. Although each of those cases were dismissed WRT him and his company, I’m sure that those lawsuits were expensive to defend against and embarrassing for her husband. Seriously, how do you suppose he explained to his colleagues that their company was being sued by a thrice-disbarred felon with whom his wife allegedly had an affair, and that the lawsuit was about his wife allegedly backing out of a deal she and the plaintiff had made to engage in mortgage scams? Or that they were being sued by a bunch of incompetent grifters and conspiracy theorists? I think Mr. Taitz doesn’t care much how Orly spends her time as long as she spends it away from him.

Kiwiwriter: That would explain a number of things, but not why her site is so lousy…wouldn’t her husband have decent webmasters on the payroll?

Yep. I think of some chucklehead I was engaging with on HuffPo, who was trying so very hard to defend various bits of birther dogma, until he finally lost it and started ranting about “the kind of people who stood along the streets and cheered for OJ Simpson as he was being chased by the police.”

  35. Kiwiwriter says:

Absolutely right about Duke and Jackson, Jr. As a fairly liberal Democrat, I am enraged by Jackson Jr. It dishonors liberal Democrats and provides racist whites with free bullets.

It would probably take a detailed forensic investigation to determine how she spends the money she takes in. Since she has a dental practice and a real estate license, she probably has legitimate income, unlike Duke and Jackson, who blatantly misused their funds.

The IRS is very serious about policing nonprofits and political campaigns.

  36. G says:

Good points. Kudos for pointing that out to that racist dimwit. Sadly, these folks don’t grasp that their cover stories only reveal their true nature to the rest of us… they are only too predictable and it is too easy to read between their lines…

The Magic M: I wonder why you peeps always feel the need to claim there is a black candidate you would support. Your fear of showing yourself to be a dimwit racist must really be rooted deep in your subconscious.

Yeah, as per both of your examples and so many I’ve directly seen and experienced with Birthers as well, sadly that too often has become true…

Not all Birthers appear to be racists…but it is amazing how many of them turned out to be over time. A real sad statement about the underpinnings of a tribalistic mindset.

Sadly, this is only the beginning. A black man reaching the highest office in the land was just too much for certain folks to accept…it just crushes their fantasy of how the world is supposed to be…

With the inevitable shifts and changes in demographics in multicultural America only trending upwards, we are only going to see an increase in crazy types of “Birther-esque” conspiracies as the bigots out there fear a world in which they themselves are no longer the “master race”…as they can only project that the “other people” will treat them as badly as they chose to treat minorities now…

sfjeff: It is my experience is if you let Birthers post enough, they all too often let down their superficial persona and let the real racist come through.

The following Israeli science authority defies the RACIST OBOT’S attempts at proving an un-provable accumulation of distorted BC facts. http://is.gd/geUEGo.

“The analyses presented below reveal without a doubt that the Long-Form Birth Certificate of Mr. Obama is a fabricated, fake and forged document.

The publication of such a blatantly fake document about something so basic as the birthplace of Mr. Obama, should raise great concern about the suitability of the person who is holding the reins on the most powerful country of the World.”

The comments made by Dr.DISTORTION aka FACT MANIPULATOR that Klein did state that the usurpers BC was valid is terribly faulty. Klein said that he could not prove that the issue of BC forgery isn’t all that clear to make a decision one way or another, and that he would be wary of the validity of the existing BC obtained from the White House.

Klein stated that he contacted double figured number of forensic document analyst and they refused to make the analysis of that forged BC.

The Israeli Science people are on record stating that the USURPER’s BC is an indisputable forgery, therefore one needs to discount the Dr.DISTORTION aka FACT MANIPULATOR’S sources that state the BC document is a true BC reproduction. BUT! even the Dr’s comments concerning his BC analysis sources is faulty… the sources Dr. DISTORTION aka FACT MANIPULATOR simply stated that what they observed can occur when viewing a PDF document.
NOTE: NO PERSON can prove anything without analyzing the ORIGINAL BC usurper document

Israel Science and Technology Homepage http://is.gd/geUEGo defines the BC provided by the usurper on the Internet is a totally FORGED document.
The NBC issue is a complex issue that has not been properly adjudicated by a competent adjudicating body that can finalize the evidence to bring an end to a controversy.

It does no good to become what you behold. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior. On that subject, I am one with the conservatives on the subject of personal responsibility and adherence to values and morals.

Sadly, too many people proclaiming themselves as conservatives do not practice those values, which in turn dishonors the millions of Americans who do.

  40. First, the link you provided is not to any Israeli Science Authority. It is a personal blog maintained by one Israeli scientist, Israel Hanukoglu, who snagged a really neat domain name. The fellow is not a forensic document examiner, but a biochemist. If he were an American with similar off-the-map opinions, we would call him a right-wing nut job.

The argument that Hanucoglu makes is quite primitive from a birther standpoint (originally written in 2011) and embraces nonsense that most birthers even know better than. Who does he cite for authority? Basically the Maricopa County cold case posse.

Well, run that right over to Orly Taitz.. She wants the Israelis to intervene on her side in her struggle against President Obama. I’m sure she’ll be fascinated.

I’m sure her supporters will, too…I suspect that a great many of them are about as fond of Jews as they are of blacks and Muslims.

  43. Taitz’ real estate license expired Feb. 8, 2008.

Kiwiwriter: It would probably take a detailed forensic investigation to determine how she spends the money she takes in. Since she has a dental practice and a real estate license, she probably has legitimate income, unlike Duke and Jackson, who blatantly misused their funds.

  44. G says:

    Oh…the irony here…

How They Know: who can’t reason the differences between fact or fiction,

  45. Taitz and the Israel Science blogger have, it seems, similar motivations. He said:

In my report of March 9, I said that with Barack Obama in the White House, the American government has become an overt enemy. I noted that Obama has made appointments of persons who are openly hostile to Israel. Like him and various Israeli politicians, they advocate an Arab-Islamic state in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. This would lead to Israel’s demise.

Kiwiwriter: Well, run that right over to Orly Taitz.. She wants the Israelis to intervene on her side in her struggle against President Obama. I’m sure she’ll be fascinated.

  46. Rickey says:

    You say this:

    How They Know:

“The analyses presented below reveal without a doubt that the Long-Form Birth Certificate of Mr. Obama is a fabricated, fake and forged document.”

And then you contradict yourself with this:

NOTE: NO PERSON can prove anything without analyzing the ORIGINAL BC usurper document

So apparently you are the putz.

  47. Northland10 says:

How They Know: defies the RACIST OBOT’S

What is with the “RACIST OBOT” meme lately? Did Stormfront have a 2 for 1 tagging special recently?

  48. Connie Lingus says:

    Ahem. Excuse me. Hello?

[Ahem. Did you think you’d slip that one by me? Any others will be deleted. Doc.]

  49. G says:

Flinging hollow projection of their own inner failings is all they have left…

Northland10: What is with the “RACIST OBOT” meme lately?Did Stormfront have a 2 for 1 tagging special recently?

  50. Dr Kenneth Noisewater says:

The Magic M: I wonder why you peeps always feel the need to claim there is a black candidate you would support. Your fear of showing yourself to be a dimwit racist must really be rooted deep in your subconscious.

It’s a take on the “I can’t be racist because I have a black friend” comeback racists usually use when called out. They pick a candidate they know has no chance of ever being nominated by the republican party and thus they never would have to actually support them.

  51. The Magic M says:

G: Not all Birthers appear to be racists…but it is amazing how many of them turned out to be over time.

One could make a reverse assumption and consider that some of them may start out as non-racist birthers and become racists in the process of being a birther (e.g. at the point where they start to believe Obama is “above the law” only because of his race, or that people who voted for Obama must be evil and since blacks overwhelmingly voted for him, …).
I have actually seen this occasionally when someone started out as an ordinary crank (e.g. by believing the judge in one of his cases was bought off or somehow favoured his opponent or his opponent’s lawyer) and dive into typical conspiracy stereotypes like anti-Semitism much later in the process of going down the rabbit hole.

How They Know: The following Israeli science authority defies

No real science authority simply blindly quotes somebody else’s non-scientific examination result. That would be like Stephen Hawking saying “Some guy found the Higgs boson in his laundry, I tell you, it’s true!”.

How They Know: Klein stated that he contacted double figured number of forensic document analyst and they refused to make the analysis of that forged BC.

No, they refused to draw inferences on the validity of the original by looking at a PDF representation of a scan of a certified copy. *duh*
The fact that you feel the need to distort that fact using a formulation that could also be understood as “they were afraid to touch the issue” again proves your dishonesty.

How They Know: The NBC issue is a complex issue that has not been properly adjudicated by a competent adjudicating body that can finalize the evidence to bring an end to a controversy.

There is no controversy, just like there is no controversy whether evolution or ID is correct.

Some idjits making up stuff on the internet and ignoring centuries of science does not a controversy make.

  52. Paper says:

There’s a word that used to be used, prejudiced. I think it is useful here. Racist is a clear-cut word, and there certainly are birthers, and others, who are racist, but there also is a huge range, and when I think of the birthers I know I find myself hard-pressed to use the term racist. But prejudiced, I can see that with some of them. I think it captures a large measure of people who would never ever consider themselves racist, and also who probably shouldn’t be called racist, in that it doesn’t really explain them. Let me say something I’ve said before, as well, that in certain ways, perhaps more important ways, being prejudiced is worse, more pervasive, more insidious, more thoughtless, more normal.

G: Not all Birthers appear to be racists…but it is amazing how many of them turned out to be over time. A real sad statement about the underpinnings of a tribalistic mindset.

With apologizes to the comedian who uses this line-

Your post reminded me of this:

You(speaking to all Birthers- not you the poster) might be a racist if you repeatedly claim that Obama is only half black- as in “I am not a racist because Obama is only half black so clearly I can’t be opposing him just because of his color”

  54. Kiwiwriter says:

I didn’t see the one that relief pitcher Don Stanhouse used to spout when he wandered around his hotel on road trips with the 105-loss 1973 Texas Rangers:

    “Peter Gozinya.”
