In a video under an article published today titled: “BREAKING PROOF! OBAMA BORN IN KENYA – Long Form BC A FRAUD?” Carl Gallups presents a 2011 video compendium of all the people in the news business who ever got Obama’s birth place wrong.
His introduction says that this would be compelling evidence in court, but of course what some news reporter says without first hand knowledge wouldn’t even be allowed in court.
It’s old stuff. I had seen some fake letters reportedly from the Kenyan government about Obama’s birth certificate, but this video has one that I missed (from a “reliable source” who is not named), a Kenyan National Security Service memo that talks about a planned construction project at Kogelo village was “to honor the birthplace of President Barack Obama.”
Without a source, the memo itself has no standing. Beyond that, one has to question why the Kenyan National Security Service would be concerned with such a topic in the first place.
In previous material from Zullo, a red box indicates faked evidence.
Carl Gallups has to be one of the scuzziest people (let alone a birther) that walks the earth. The way he hides behind religion is particularly disturbing.
I heard Capt. Tuttle on the RC radio show the other night. He expressed my exact sentiments on Gallups. What a despicable human being.

that pdf came from WND. It’s old news. And not true. I found many references to the kogelo cultural center. All saying it was to honor Barack, Sr. One was dated Aug. 2009, which is earlier than the pdf.

This is not new evidence. I’ve seen this before. This one the more compelling pieces of evidence that Obama was born in Kenya.

I remember seeing that “Kenyan National Security Service memo” before. Of course it is as “authenticated” as Smith’s “Kenyan BC”.
IIRC someone looked up where Ranneberger was in the alleged time period and found he was nowhere near Kenya.
I don’t think grifting plays much of a role in keeping birferism alive, mostly because I find it difficult to believe that there’s much money in it anymore. There might have been money in it a couple years ago when birfers genuinely believed that Obama would be removed from office over birther nonsense, but not many of them seriously believe that anymore. People who are pure grifters–like Lucas Smith and Charles Lincoln–have mostly moved on to other scams.

Why would a collection of people who have no first-hand knowledge of where Obama was born make a compelling case for where Obama was born?
I grant that the video is good propaganda, but nothing more.

He is either paid by the Kochs or someone like that to scam people, or he does it on his own. I can’t think of a third source of income, can you?

Does what on his own? He’s done almost nothing in his birther “investigation.” He took a couple of all-expenses-paid trips. He did a couple of press conferences using MCSO facilities and material that was mostly taken from work other people had done. The last work product he produced was the affidavit for the Alabama Supreme Court case, and that was over a year ago.
If there is big money behind it, such as Koch or Adelson–which I doubt there is– then it’s not really a scam in the sense that he’s ripping people off. In that situation, he’s being paid to pretend to investigate birther stuff.
There’s one thing I always notice when reading Birther Report (and, before the 2012 elections, WND) stories:
Every day, they have at least one story which brings little “new” info in itself, but always rehashes the core birther talking points (“forged BC”, “law enforcement investigation”, …) at the bottom, often making up as much as 3/4’s of the entire article.
This is not typical crank or conspiracy believer MO because those people usually believe that everyone knows most of their core stuff already.
(As a simple example, a conspiracy site about “we never went to the Moon” would not repeat “the flag wouldn’t float on the Moon” in every posting.)
So why the continuous drum beat, the steady reinforcement of the same things their readers appear to believe anyway?
I think it’s textbook propaganda MO, but there’s got to be someone who makes sure all birther sites keep reiterating those same things over and over again.
So yes, I still believe there is some concerted effort, someone pulling strings from behind the curtain (it might be someone as unsurprising as Corsi or Trump, or someone as nefarious as the Koch brothers or other known “conservatives”).
And at least some of that dictatorship-style propaganda might be motivated by the hope that some “lone wolf” will be incited to violence.

About speculation that the Koch brothers might be behind any of this, I have to say that I find that very improbable. Every piece of wingnuttery the Koch brothers have had a hand in has a clear connection to the value of their investments, e.g. global warming denial and “don’t tax the job creators.”

The fact that they’re reduped by old articles and videos on a regular basis, makes me wonder if you average birther understands object permanence.

Nowhere in either article does Corsi state how or from whom the documents were obtained. Moreover, Corsi didn’t mention the memos in any of his three Birther books, “Where’s the Birth Certificate”, “Where’s the REAL Birth Certificate”, or “A Question of Eligibility.” I tend to think this speaks to how credible Corsi himself considers the documents to be (see also the supposed Emmanuel Kisombe letters he published at WND around the same time).

Since “object permanance” commonly means the understanding that material objects tend to continue to exist even though we are no longer seeing them, I think that the closest the Birthers come to incorporating that concept into their insanity, is their notion that non-evidence continues to constitute legal proof even though they are no longer seeing a psychiatrist.
This delusion on their part challenges rational comprehension, as furthermore, they repeat over and over again, that their non-existent prevailing evidence, is NEVER GOING AWAY!

The Koch Bros’ father was one of the founders of the John Birch Society. They have inherited the mantle, so to speak.

They don’t care what the issue is, as long as the side they pick is the one the peasantry believe. It is not the peasant’s job to think, it is the peasant’s job to work or die.
