The great prediction

There are two predictions, actually, currently circulating among the birthers, but they both focus on the same event, Inauguration Day, January 20, 2017. Some birthers say that Obama will leave office before that day through the vindication of their beliefs about his eligibility (this is the “any day now” “frog marched out of the White House” faction), and others say Obama will not leave office on that day at all, but will try to stay in office beyond his term by manufacturing some kind of crisis. The “crisis” has been variously identified as an economic crisis, a terrorist crisis or as one Gerbil Report™ commenter named SMACK put it in Burma Shave sign form: EBOLA / THE PERFECT EXCUSE / FOR MARTIAL LAW / BANK.

Political commentator and conspiracy theorist, James Henry Fetzer, says:

The situation with Ebola is very strange indeed, because there are multiple indications that it’s some kind of fraud or hoax or scam being perpetrated on the American people. …

“There’s good reason to be skeptical about what’s going on here in the United States. And I am terribly troubled that they are trying to create a cause that is going to instill fear into the American people to justify imposing martial law here in the United States.

Fetzer doesn’t state a purpose for martial law in the US, but he does say that sending US Troops to Africa is being done to further US corporate interests. An alternate theory is that Ebola is real and Obama wants to punish America for slavery in its past. That was articulated by birther litigant and talk show host Dr. Laurie Roth in her article, “Vaccinations, Martial Law, Millions of Deaths on their Way”:

And what is the purpose of all this disease, lack of protection and border security??? It appears to be potentially the “full meal deal” for Obama and his goals. 1) Establish over the next few years mindless, dependent and UN-American foreign voters and supporters for Obama and his goals. 2) Punish America for her achievements by riddling her with diseases and maiming her children. 3) Create a guise to declare martial law due to created outbreaks. Control speech, food, travel and health care. 4) Demand adults and children take some sort of mandated/mystery vaccination that kills off even more people.

My prediction is that a forced vaccination plan from Obama and his administration is on its way. This will not only allow someone put in control (so Obama can’t be blamed) to release something potentially fatal into our system, but also act as a tracker — the complete end of our privacy and freedom.

David Hodges of “The Common Sense Show” expands on this theme in his article “The PSYOPS of the Coming EBOLA Genocide (Part 1)”:

It matters not if its Ebola that is going to rip through the country like a Tsunami coming ashore, or, whether it is the hastily prepared soon-to-be vaccines that are soon going to be thrust among us which will potentially devastate our collective  immune systems [not out precious bodily fluids?]. To those who are still debating if the Ebola crisis is a false flag, you are wasting time and you are causing the public to take their eye off of the ball. Does it matter if the Ebola is an instrument of oppression or it will be the vaccine that serves this purpose? The full or partial spread of Ebola is a prerequisite condition for the roll out of mandatory vaccines. Both Ebola and the subsequent vaccines are like “love and marriage”, as Frank Sinatra once said, “You can’t have one without the other”!

And if death from Ebola weren’t bad enough, some such as Kit Daniels at InfoWars have suggested, that “Gun confiscations” are “plausible government responses to an Ebola outbreak in America.” (You can find an abundance of other examples of this with search keywords like “Ebola martial law” and “medical martial law.”)

For the purposes of this article, it is the staying in office motive that is relevant, and that can be found in the article “Obama’s Disease-Infected America” by Mychal Massie published in WorldNetDaily on October 13.

I do not believe it was empty rhetoric when Dr. Ben Carson told Fox News host Chris Wallace that “there might not actually be elections in 2016. …” Carson did not specifically mention a pandemic of disease as the reason for same, stating instead the possibility of economic disaster and ISIS. I say, what could be more economically devastating than a disease pandemic and martial law to prevent a run on banks and to allow government-controlled media blackouts?

I will conclude with this image from the Infiltrated Nation web site:

Of course we can just wait until January 20, 2017 and see what happens, whether the birthers (and other right wing conspiracists) are vindicated or proven wrong. There is no satisfaction in that because they will have moved on to something else.

I recall the same fear mongering taking place with the Clinton Presidency. WND kept claiming that Y2K was really a “false flag” operation and that Clinton intended to declare martial law and suspend the 2000 election. Some true believers even went off the grid to avoid the predicted chaos that never happened.

In a lot of ways, the right-wing nut job conspiracy hysteria we observe today is little different than what occurred during the Clinton administration.

Oh man! I remember the Y2K stupidity.
I was temping at a computer store in late 1999, and this guy comes in. He’s looking at the different machines. My friend asks him if there’s anything we could help him with and he says something to the effect “Oh, I’m just looking, but there’s no use buying anything, because we’ll all be dead in a couple of months!

January 1st was Happy Schadenfreude Day for me, because the internet was littered with confused forum posts about people wondering why nothing happened. Almost sounding disappointed about it. I don’t doubt that there were some royal idiots who pulled a “I’m gonna live December 31st, like its my last day on Earth, because it is!!!” and burned many a bridge.

Speaking of predictions, whoever it was that predicted that a lot of birthers would just sorta shuffle off into obscurity, was right on the money.

I remember how many ‘Truthers’ were convinced that George W. Bush would stage a false flag attack and cancel the 2008 elections. Which of course did not happen. They were then saying that he would stage a false flag attack, declare martial law (a good 50% of them, at least, spelled it “marshall law” or “marshal law”) and Obama would never be inaugurated. Most of the Obama scare-mongering is just warned-over Bush scare-mongering, and a lot of that was warmed-over Clinton scare-mongering. To the point that you have actual scare stories that the ‘Truthers’ were sharing ten years ago flying around as “news”. Like that poor old truck full of “Martial Law” posters that’s broken down at least twice a year for the last decade and a bit now.

I also remember ominous warnings in the late 90s that Clinton was going to send out black helicopters carrying jack-booted thugs to descend upon America and confiscate everyone’s guns.

Just a quibble – the crazy conspiratorial quote ending in “…the complete end of our privacy and freedom” is not from Rush Limbaugh, but from barbwire.com:

From time to time, I go back and look at the various blog/websites during the 2012 election cycle. From just a few days before the election when confidence was remarkably high that Obama was going to lose in a “landslide,” victory for Romney to the day after the election when reality was just too much for many of them to take.

The months leading up to that day were filled with suspicions of martial law being declared to prevent the election through a series of “false flag operations,” which never seemed to materialize. When I asked about these predictions, the usual response was Obama had already rigged the elections to win so the false flag operations to declare martial law were not necessary. The usual culprit was George Soros, vote counting, and something about Spain.

It is the conspiracy multiplication effect. If one conspiracy does not pan out, then it is clearly the result of an even more nefarious conspiracy that was put into place.

That’s what separates the real birthers from the pretenders.
The real birthers will keep on going, no matter how outlandish the conspiracy, but the pretend birthers always eventually hit a wall.

The pretenders just wanted Obama out, no matter the cost. If that meant siding with a bunch of kooks, then so be it! But as it became an increasingly impossible to ignore fact, that Obama wasn’t going anywhere, that group has been packing up camp and going home. The “real deal” birthers are panicking because, as a result of the others leaving, they’re not nearly as many strong, as they were led to believe. This has caused even some of them, to pack it in and go home, or leave the country as some claimed to have done.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the only “real deal” birthers left on the internet, are the denizens of Gerbil Report.

Add this one to the pile. Even the truckers — our beloved truckers who went to our nation’s capital by the millions to get that rascally usurper! — are thrown under those other large wheeled vehicles in the name of conspiracy hysteria.

    snopes.com: Large Weird Truck Convoy

I can tell you one thing. These trucks are transporting more than you think ? It’s all starting. Some will know what I’m talking about and other’s will just keep believing what FOX news tells them and vote for the candidate who lies the best ! We are SOOO screwed !

Well, we who are paying attention, know something big is going to happen for sure and really soon ! So many things and all of them are so close together…….. I see a dictatorship being announced, military hitting the streets, jets overhead, forced Ebola/flu immunizations (rather true or not) Martial Law, food/water shortages, etc………….We’ll see

Doc, as you work through the equations, remember this:

The dark energy density in the vacuum of the Birther Cranium is negative (very negative), not positive. Naturally, this results in a positive pressure, explaining why the Birther Universe is shrinking rather than expanding. When you work in the crazification factor, instability is introduced to the system, causing the acceleration of this shrinkage until the Birther Universe is inevitably shattered.

Dr. Conspiracy: I am seeking a grand unification conspiracy theory that would relate the cosmological constant to the crazification factor.

OllieOxenFree: when confidence was remarkably high that Obama was going to lose in a “landslide,” victory for Romney

I fondly remember a whole slew of wingnuts on WND who were like “in two days you Obots will all be in jail” and were never seen again after election day (though I suspect they came back with new handles).

OllieOxenFree: If one conspiracy does not pan out, then it is clearly the result of an even more nefarious conspiracy that was put into place.

Or, alternatively, it was foiled by the fact that a handful of wingnuts had posted about it on the internet. “I called their game on WhyThePresidentIsAnEvilAllyOfSatan.someblogprovider.com, so they were too scared to pull it off.”

In the run-up to the 2012 US presidential elections a friend of mine on Facebook trotted out the whole “Obama will use a false flag attack to cancel the elections and declare martial law” thing. I replied that if he did that I would personally go to Washington and EAT Obama.

“Gun confiscations” are “plausible government responses to an Ebola outbreak in America.”

Doesn’t mean much, since that crowd thinks gun confiscations are a “plausible government response” to a red sky at morning.

If we could figure out what they use to suspend their disbelief, we’d be halfway to building a commercially-viable space elevator.

I’ve been going through some Amazon comments and came across THIS prediction– Leonard Daneman from 2012:

“Let’s see how Larry Klayman does in Florida. Get this into a courtroom and the Obama argument will fail, and the constitution will be defended.”
