So precisely why is Orly, Kreep et al. trying to get hold of President Obama’s records at Occidental College and what possible bearing could anything they find there on Obama’s citizenship?
Stay with me because this gets pretty weird. They say that President Obama attended Occidental College as a foreign student under the name Barry Soetoro. Given that his high school year book said “Obama” and he had been a resident of Hawaii since age 10, why in the world would they think he applied as a foreign student? (Having put a child through college in California, I know that they charge non-residents a small fortune.) Nonetheless they say it because there is evidence he did! Here is the evidence from the official records of the California Legislature!

OK, granted there is a tiny problem: the name. It’s not Barry Soetoro but Moestabjab Soetoro and he was in high school, not college. But it’s still confirmation.
There is one other small problem, can you spot in the image below?
Yup, it’s that pesky 1963. Mr. Soetoro was a visiting foreign student when little Barack was only 2 years old. But it’s still confirmation. Soetoro was a foreign student. They must think people are soooooo stupid.
the way I got the story from a Birther was Obama met a girl who told him to use Barrack not Barry. so Barry must have been Barry Soetoro, you see. loginal isn’t it. Very logical for a complete idiot.

Orly sent a letter to Sen Grassley and said “Later it was reported that he studied at Occidental college in Ca under the name Barry Soetoro and there was an entry in the journal of the California assembly in re. to grants given to foreign exchange students, one Soetoro from Indonesia.”
She did not mention that Obama was 2 years old when this “Soetoro” jornal entry was made in 1963. How can she continue this kind of garbage and not be dis-barred.

Slight correction: Occidental College is private and doesn’t charge the same tuition as California state schools. Oxy charges a fortune for everybody, no matter where from!
I just checked out Orly’s website for the first time. I keep hearing you guys mention her and I just wanted to see what she was all about. Man that woman needs to work on her grammar. She sent an email to the FBI full of grammar and spelling mistakes. That’s pretty funny actually. She isn’t even trying because she most likely doesn’t really care. She knows crazies will follow her no matter what.
Another small problem: “Soetoro” was the high school exchange student’s given name, not his surname: Soetoro Moestabjab
Apparently, Indonesians do not use surnames in the sense that we do. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indonesian_name
According to that article, names beginning with “Su” or “So” are generally Javanese; but the Javanese custom would be to have a single name only; see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javanese_name

“Americans for Freedom of Information” has released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College. The transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking.
Who in their right mind would go to Occidental anyway? Soetoro also went to Harvard as a foreign student because that is the only way he would have graduated, etc. Only rich influencial kids get this far. I know from having sent my kids to study abroad as well..Just ask Felipe of Spain…
