Democrats v Birthers

Check out this new Web ad from the Democratic National Committee that attacks the Republicans via the birthers. I thought they could have done a lot better.

Yeah, it could be better, but at least it’s something. I’m glad to see they’re trying to at least get the word out that what’s going on at the town halls isn’t just some spontaneous outburts

  2. I thought it was a bad idea to use the picture of the person holding up (hiding behind?) the Bible.

Especially since it was a New American Bible, which is strongly associated with the Catholic denomination, rather than a different translation that might not be as easily seen as singling out a specific group.

You may have jumped the gun there. The Bomford/Australian certificate image seems to have disappeared from all the “debunking” articles. Check out post 1,139 about 2/3rds down the page, re the Kenyan coat of arms emblem:
    http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2307402/posts?q=1&;page=1132#1132
Looks like the Aussie cert was copied from Taitz’s, and not vise-versa.

“Koyann (Steve Ellis), who fabricated the fake “Australian” certificate, didn’t take the time to replacte the crest, instead he cropped the upper part of the template, as you can see: the words “South Australia” are cut in half. It’s clear that he used the Kenya image as template and not the other way around. The typed letters are not distorted by the paper creases as they should.”

It’s looking a lot more like the so called “Aussie” version is a fake.

For one thing, the folds between the Kenyan doc and the Aussie doc are different not only in number but also where they are located on the documents.

    Furthermore:

    1) The referring page: http://www.bomford.net/worcestershire/images/DavidJeffreyBomfordBirthCertDoc65.jpg has been taken down. As hashttp://www.bomford.net/worcestershire (earlier tonight, it had a message on it saying the bomford b.c. had been taken down.

Look at that bomford version. Zoom in and look at the lettering on the doc where the folds are. There seems to be no distortion at all (especially the bottom portion). In other words, the letters “float” over the folds. Discussion found here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/ … =1019#1019

Information on the guy who reportedly forged the Aussie version: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2307402/posts?page=1019#1019

    Boring and pedestrian.

  6. AdrianInFlorida says:

    “Boring and pedestrian”
Yes, they are, but the right wingers still need to be called out on this, even if they are Boring and pedestrian

  7. jtx says:

    Truth B Told:

This may be, perhaps, the Bomford that is known for fraud in Aussieland …

Fits righjt in with this site …

  8. Bob says:

the Bomford that is known for fraud in Aussieland

Which Bomford is known for fraud?

  9. nbc says:

His name was Bamford. So much for rumors.

    Silly JTX.

  10. jtx, your insults are tiresome and predictable. Join the background noise.

  11. Nullifidian says:

Looks like the Aussie cert was copied from Taitz’s, and not vise-versa.

The Kenyan coat of arms, and the fake Kenyan certificate, has two lions rampant supporting the escutcheon.

Would any Freeper care to demonstrate where the lions rampant are on the Bomford certificate?

  12. TruePatriotHrt says:

What exactly do you think we need to be called out on?
Imagine if Bush were doing the same things Obama is doing, asking people to rat on their neighbors, invading other countries, hiring ACORN and SEIU to take on government business, sleeping with G.E., Al Gore, and NBC, taking over the banks, taking over the auto industry, playing the race card, bailing out the bankers and allowing them to keep million dollar bonuses, calling Republicans “a mob” of people?
What do you suppose the Democrats would do?
Where is Code Pink, where is Cindy Sheehan, where is PETA to complain about the recent FDA bill, allowing our military to help the police, threatening people in Capitol Hill, letting Muslims get away with their crimes, allowing Black Panthers to get away with voter intimidation, trashing perfectly good cars and selling “green” ones. You liberals are whacko! You can’t save the environment anymore than you can save the world!
This is unconstitutional and you know it.
The only reason Obama gets away with this is because he is a colored man.
As a person of color, myself, I am ashamed.

  13. kimba says:

“The only reason Obama gets away with this is because he is a colored man”

ding ding ding ! Racist Troll Cleanup on Aisle 7! Hint to “TruePatriot”: This is the 21st century. No one uses the word “colored” anymore to refer to non-white people. No one (outside of the South) has used that word for 30 years. A “person of color myself” would know that.

But thanks for once again proving that the real problem you white, southern folk have with Pres Obama is that he is a “colored man”. Nicely played. NOw go back into your 60s racist closet.

  14. richCares says:

“As a person of color, myself, I am ashamed.”

a common thing to do among right wingers, to invent an argument point, (i.e. from authority, like jtx’s being a judge). It is a sign of ignorance more than touting authority. THey are usually too dumb to know that this ruse does not work.

  15. TruePatriotHrt says:

I am 63 years old, young lady. I was born in 1945.
You have no right to say what I should call myself. Who do you liberals think you are?
Don’t tell me what to call myself.
    Thank you very much.

  16. TruePatriotHrt says:

    What ruse?
All you liberals know how to do is insult people and you can never discuss the issues.
Are you perfectly ok with what the president is doing?
    And if so, why?
He is taking over this country and turning it into a scary place. The healthcare bill if passed, will ensure that seniors get “end of life” counseling.
My friends and I are scared and my children are afraid for me. Tell me why this is a good thing.

  17. richCares says:

z”…do you liberals think you are?”

you have no idea of kimba’s politics, but like any right winger you project your twisted mind on to others, and yes you should call yourself a bigot.

  18. richCares says:

. The healthcare bill if passed, will ensure that seniors get “end of life” counseling.

wow, the wing nut has spoken, who is your talking point leader? You need to get an education, are you even aware of how ignorant you sound?

  19. Greg says:

It doesn’t require end of life counseling, it allows it. If you don’t want it, don’t get it.

Tell your friends and children to READ the bill before jumping to silly conclusions.

  20. TruePatriotHrt says:

    How am I a bigot?
    I’m bi-racial.
Born from a white woman and a colored man.
Call yourself a bigot and hateful as well because that is what you are.
And tell me why Obama supporters are always so angry and hateful?

  21. TruePatriotHrt says:

You must be kidding. If you think Obama cares about people and won’t force this on someone you’ve got rocks in your head.
But I don’t expect any of you to think for yourself anyway.
All his takeovers prove that he can make people do what they don’t want to do.
    This is like Hitler.

  22. Greg says:

There’s a difference between saying Obama’s a bad person and WOULD force this on someone and saying that the healthcare bill DOES force this on someone.

It does not force anything on anyone. If you want end of life counseling, it will pay for it. If you don’t want end of life counseling, you aren’t required to get it. If you do get it, however, the government will only pay for it once every five years.

Of course, it comes down to the fact that there is no evidence for EITHER proposition.

  23. Bob says:

And there’s a world of difference between not liking Obama’s policies and claiming he isn’t eligible to be president.

Don’t like Obama’s health care plan? Fine; don’t vote for him in 2012.

  24. Nullifidian says:

There’s no need to imagine Bush doing the same things Obama is doing. He DID do the same things Obama is doing.

Let’s take your list point by point.

asking people to rat on their neighbors:
Obama isn’t asking for this. He is merely requesting that people pass along false rumors, not asking them to report the SOURCE of the rumors. However, Bush’s DHS did ask firefighters to spy on citizens during the course of their duties, including on their “behaviors, like someone who is hostile to Americans or spouting hate speech”.

    invading other countries:
Obama is merely continuing the programs and wars that Bush started. Which new country is he supposed to have invaded?

hiring ACORN and SEIU to take on government business:

No evidence that this has happened AT ALL, beyond a few hysterical and baseless reports in the far-right media, but even so it’s established practice to take certain government work and farm it out to private companies. I did some of it myself, during the development of the Prescription Drug Plan.

    sleeping with G.E.:

You mean that a U.S. president is in bed with corporations? I’m SHOCKED!

Seriously, this happens every time. Both parties are entirely house-trained by the corporations, and thus anyone who claimed that Obama was a “socialist” is therefore an idiot. Furthermore, Cheney’s “energy summit” allowed energy companies, including General Electric, to write government policy.

    Al Gore:

Yes, he’s gotten in bed with Al Gore by NOT appointing him to any high-level governmental positions.

    and NBC

How has he gotten in bed with NBC specifically, and how is this any contrast to Bush’s tight clampdown on the Washington press corps?

taking over the banks, taking over the auto industry,

Neither of which has happened. A bailout is not a takeover.

    playing the race card,

    How?

bailing out the bankers and allowing them to keep million dollar bonuses,

Either they’ve been taken over or they haven’t. If they have been, then these million dollar executive bonuses can be stopped. If they haven’t, then they can’t. It’s contradictory to complain that Obama has taken over “control” of the banks, and then complain that he’s not controlling executive bonuses.

calling Republicans “a mob” of people?

That was not what was said. The Democratic National Committee has claimed that the Republicans have “called out the mob” against Obama, and this is true. They’re staging mass disruptions of health care town halls, even those conducted by Congresspeople in their own districts, by bringing people outside of the district to chant and drown out the speakers.

How the DNC’s advertisement a false characterization of what’s going on?

Where is Code Pink, where is Cindy Sheehan, where is PETA to complain about the recent FDA bill, allowing our military to help the police, threatening people in Capitol Hill, letting Muslims get away with their crimes, allowing Black Panthers to get away with voter intimidation, trashing perfectly good cars and selling “green” ones. You liberals are whacko! You can’t save the environment anymore than you can save the world!

Exactly which “recent FDA bill” are you thinking of? Unless it’s one governing animal testing for drugs, it’s difficult to see what PETA would have to say about it.

The Bush administration came within a hair’s breadth of allowing the military to arrest civilians.

The Black Panther case was not pursued based on the recommendation of experienced prosecutors in the DoJ who knew that they couldn’t make the case. Basically, you can’t make a case for voter intimidation if no voters were intimidated. The only people who pretended to be “intimidated” was the camera crew sent by the Republicans (and they obviously weren’t that intimidated since they walked right up to them).

Are you suggesting that we should stop people trading in their old cars for more recent ones with better fuel economies?

Lastly, I’m glad to know that you think that all Muslims are inherently criminals.

This is unconstitutional and you know it.

It is? Can you point me to the article in the Constitution or the case law that forbids governments from offering subsidies? Passing new laws? Making its own decisions about who to prosecute, and not letting racist Republican propaganda about big scary Black men dictate their choice? Not treating every Muslim like a criminal?

The only reason Obama gets away with this is because he is a colored man.
As a person of color, myself, I am ashamed.

If you’re a person of color who has bought into the idea that two Black men standing around in front of a polling station amounts to voter intimidation, complains about the president “playing the race card”, and the rest of the Republicans’ racialist string of complaints, then the most accurate term for you is an “Uncle Tom”.

However, I think it’s far more probable that you’re lying.

  25. Nullifidian says:

jtx has claimed to be a JUDGE?

Isn’t that a rather difficult job for someone completely lacking in judgment?

  26. kimba says:

No American bi-racial man says his father was “colored”. Not even a bi-racial man from the South. Pointing that out is not angry or hateful. The other giveaway of your bigotry and your race is calling yourself a “TruePatriot”, like right-wing, southern, white, racist America has the corner on Patriotism. Baloney.

  27. aarrgghh says:

    TruePatriotHrt says:

    how am i a bigot?
    i’m bi-racial.
born from a white woman and a colored man.
call yourself a bigot and hateful as well because that is what you are.
and tell me why obama supporters are always so angry and hateful?

you don’t mind if we don’t take your word on that, do you? no anger or hatred intended — we just have some questions.

so just show us your long form birth certificate (for starters) and i’m sure that, after it’s checked out by our document experts, we can move on.

  28. richCares says:

    “What ruse”
“As a person of color, myself, I am ashamed.”

Sure you are, colored white, you are lying sack of S____!

  29. kimba says:

You sir, have not read the health care bill if that’s what you think.
Read what it says about Advanced Directives –
Sec 1233 Advanced Care Planning Consultation
    http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3200/text
What the bill says is that your doctor will advise you that you should have an Advanced Directive, a Living Will, and someone designated to carry out your wishes for you if you are unable to do so. If you want all the stops pulled out and the most advanced care available at the time of your failing health, you can have it, you just have to express that in your living will.
Sheesh, READ before you come here and take a dump.

  30. kimba says:

I am also going to add to this that approximately 10% of all the health care dollars spent on you in your lifetime will occur in the last month of your life. If you want all the advanced treatment, choose it, tell people you want it. As for me, I plan to skip that last week hooked up to a ventilator and a bunch of tubes and wires, and I have told my family that. I am more than happy to tell Mr Obama that too.

  31. Yes, the new bill will pay doctors to provide end of life counseling under Medicare. The AARP has been getting frantic calls from members who are getting these chain emails saying that a government official will visit every senior and force them to say “how they want to die”.

  32. dunstvangeet says:

What’s even funnier is that the provisions that provide this funding for End-Of-Life counseling was actually introduced by Republicans…

  33. TruePatriotHrt says:

That has nothing to do with my questions or concerns. If you want more people to go to your side and stay there, you need to be more compassionate and you treating me, a senior citizen this way shows me that you are more condescending than anything.
You don’t care about anyone but yourself and how your party may look.
But that’s fine. People are fed up, the presidents’ popularity is dropping and you won’t be in power for long.

  34. TruePatriotHrt says:

You people are nothing but hateful, condescending and you don’t even realize the media is lying to you and telling you what to think.
You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

  35. richCares says:

the biracial right wing Obama hating old woman doesn’t like to be called out as a liar. Then don’t lie. How shameful of you, you are a parody of that what you claim to be. Bye Bye!

  36. I’ll plead guilty to the charge of “condescending”. It’s almost impossible not to be when dealing with birthers. But one has to wonder that if the media is lying, then how does one get the truth. And of course the answer in this case is “unsubstantiated rumors”. Yup, condescending is exactly how I feel.

  37. I’ll be 60 next year. Age is no excuse for poor judgment.

  38. TruePatriotHrt says:

I read the bills that are passed, that’s how.
    Any other smart remarks?
Oh and I did not lie about anything.
But you enjoy that hate you have inside.
    God bless you all.
