We are the birthers

With apologies to T. S. Eliot.

We are the hollow birthers
We are the stuffed birthers
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
Our conspiracy theories, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats’ feet over broken glass
In our dry cellar

This is the way our cause ends
This is the way our case ends
This is the way our world ends
Dismissed with the bang of a gavel.

About Dr. Conspiracy

  1. Lupin says:

The image that comes to my mind is Edward G Robin’s famous death scene… “Mother of Mercy, is this the end of Rico?”

  2. Lupin says:

Maybe you should take a poll / give an award to the best fictional scene representing the routing of Orly and the birthers.

In addition to Edward G. Robinson’s scene above, I’d also nominate the “brave Sir Robin” song from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

  3. And for me the scene is the death of the vampire Amilyn in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

  4. Lupin says:

An excellent choice. I love those last kicks.

The TV series is/was so good it managed to erase most of the movie from my memory.

let’s not count our eulogies before they’re hatched — i predict a “dawn of the dead” sequel for campaign 2012 …

  6. catbit says:

I personally nominate Frankenfurter’s death scene from “Rocky Horror” – with her minions running the spotlight….

  7. Tomtech says:

    Right movie, wrong scene.

Like the Black Knight, Orly is losing badly with every parry, but she will still be demanding that she won as the country moves on after watching her defeat.

  8. MsDaisy says:

I nominate “Shaun of the Dead,” the whole movie. Just change the dead to the Birthers. Actually that wouldn’t be far off considering their mentality.

  9. Bob says:

Taitz and CEL3 have broken up.

  10. Lupin: An excellent choice. I love those last kicks.

If memory serves me right, there are several more reprises (than are in the clip) before the vampire finally dies.

  11. Lupin says:

Ah yes, Orly as the Black Knight! Excellent!

    ‘Tis but a scratch! 🙂
