I am announcing a zero-tolerance policy towards personal insults directed at other persons commenting here. All insulting remarks will be deleted. I don’t care who makes them or what valuable information is attached.

Thank you. I tend not to post too much here because of the vitriol on both sides of the issue. I do read this blog everyday because of the wealth of information, but sometimes it gets unnecessarily nasty.
I also suggest you ban the words Birfer (as opposed to Birther)and Obot (or any derivation). These words only serve to inflame opponents.
Good thing Jeffrey Toobin doesn’t post here.

There are actually two questions here – was the marriage (BHO Sr. and Dr. Dunham’s) legal under Kenyan (or British) law and was it legal under US law. Only the latter is significant (I think) to the president’s ‘natural born’ status, although US law may defer to British law on the legitimacy of the first marriage.
Does this mean we cannot refer to Orly as Bat****crazy?
As to birfer vs birther, I see no problem.
Either of these terms describe a person showing considerably more disrespect to their own president.
To treat them with kid gloves while they malign the president is taking a higher road, but one that leads nowhere.
I agree that hostile forum posters vs each other cannot be tolerated and that it doesn’t further a discussion to use insults, but it will be no more effective in teaching birthers the truth either.
No matter how nice one is to a hungry lion, it will still want to eat you.
These lions are hungry for Obama.
Being nice to them will not change their appetite any more than lowering taxes will make them stop chanting “Taxed Enough Already.”

Since Orly doesn’t post here (at least not that I’m aware of), referring to her as batsh*t crazy shouldn’t be a problem (besides, it is clearly factually accurate).
Refraining from calling posters names isn’t treating them with kid gloves – it’s treating them with the respect due another human being. There propaganda and demonstrably false ideas, on the other hand, should be shown no mercy whatsoever. Arguments without personal attacks are stronger and don’t play into the birther’s martyr complex. They like to imagine that their opponents are cowering in fear of President Obama’s inevitable removal and hurling insults because they have no other arguments. Civilized refutations of their lame theories with citations of law and reason are the most effective tactics in fighting them.
Might I suggest you check who is (obviously) tampering with the rating system (cf. recent posts on thread re Obama’s SSS number) and ban them?
I find that more egregious than a few well deserved epithets being thrown around.
I am always quite shocked that anyone gives me a thumbs up. I assure you I don’t do it myself.

I’d love to see proof from someone that he has used any of these SSNs (other than the one that’s most closely associated with him), instead of a listing in a GIGO database. Until I see any kind of proof of usage or fraud, then it’s just an invalid entry in a crappy database.
