I took some heat for not labeling a recent fictional article as such, so let me start this out by saying that as far as I know, the things stated in this article are believed by the people who state them.
Some of you may have been around when I wrote the straight-up satirical article: Barack Obama was Genetically Altered Super-Child, about Barack Obama being some kind of a genetic concoction involving some cells from George Soros.
As part of my study program on conspiracy theories, I’ve been reading about the Illuminati, a 18th century secret society that persists in conspiracy theories even if not as an actual organization. (Indeed, one of the birthers said that one time some thought that yours truly was “an Illuminati stooge.”) The story is that powerful “international financiers” (code words for “Jewish bankers”) have been manipulating the world under a variety of labels: Illuminati, Freemasons, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, Skull and Bones, Bohemian Grove, Templars, Bilderbergers and New World Order to name a few. They supposedly cause the wars and the panics in their lust for power, and will soon take over everything through UN troops stationed in secret bases all over America, carried around by black helicopters on the heels of a fake UFO invasion which will cower everyone into submission. Yes, people believe this stuff.
The two themes have come together in an article this past weekend by Clifford Shack titled From those Wonderful Folks Who Gave You Hitler & Stalin. “Those folks” refer to the Illuminati and the chief conspirators, the Rothschild family.

That’s the leading question of the story. Classical conspiracy theories can get long and convoluted and impossible to summarize briefly; however, one of the ideas in the story is that Barack Obama is really the descendent of US President Theodore Roosevelt who sired President Obama’s grandmother on a visit to British East Africa.

The article traces Obama’s lineage including:
I believe that Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Obama, Sr. were chosen by the U.S. and British Intelligence to parent a future black president.
And so on. This is a much more canonical conspiracy theory that the typical birther stuff, and there are the obvious racist implications when you read the actual article. There are a wealth of related web links to these right-wing Illuminati theories, but I really don’t want the site pointing to that kind of stuff.
birtherreport.com is now “reporting” that G. Gordon Liddy (of Watergate infamy) has his own operatives in Hawaii assuring him that Obama’s birth certificate is forged and that it was placed in the Hawaii records, possibly as early as 1978!

The WND article on this story also claims Dr. C. is an accomplice of sorts.

Er, if the forged birth certificate was put in the files in 1978, what was on file when the DOH put out the birth announcements to the local newpapers in 1961?

Not to mention a Connecticut based SSN while living in Hawaii is indicative of a child placed in the Federal Foster care system in the custody of a U.S. State Department contractor located in Connecticut.

The children are placed in licensed child welfare programs operated by their local affiliates. Eligible minors may also enter the program through family (a) breakdown, (b) grant of asylum, or (c) certification as a victim of trafficking. Each minor in the care of this program is eligible for the same range of child welfare benefits as non-refugee children in the State, with additional services for the preservation of the minor’s ethnic and religious heritage. When possible, the child is placed in an area with nearby families of the same ethnic background. Depending on their individual needs, the minors are placed in home foster care, group care, independent living, or residential treatment. ORR reimburses costs incurred on behalf of each child until the month after his or her eighteenth birthday or such higher age as is permitted under the State’s plan under title IV-B of the Social Security Act.”
So he would have been a refugee in Hawaii and handled by the Catholic Charities of Hawaii. Then turned over to his grandparents.

How does a child with grandparents waiting to collect him at the airport qualifyy as “requiring foster care”? Do we even know that Obama was unaccompanied when he returned from Indonesia? How do you know his mother diidn’t come with him? How is Connecticut a “local affiliate” in Honolulu? Have you looked at a map?
Not true. Natural born citiizenship is determiined at birth and cannot ever be altered by subsequent events. It is one’s genotype, like blood group, and remains with one for life. Arguing otherwise is grounds for dismissal from the Society of Birthers (SOB).
The various refugee assistance programs are located in Hartford. This would include the Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Service of the Archdiocese of Hartford. If I recall, the area code of his SSN related to the zip code of Danbury, CT on the far west side of the state, and a different Catholic Diocese. It is very likely, had Sven’s story had any truth, the SSN’s area number would have been one for an area closer to Hartford, or even New Haven, not Danbury/Bridgeport.
Along with Sven’s need for actual evidence of anything, a map may also come in handy.
So would a functioning frontal lobe.
It’s far more logistically plausible for Sarah Palin to have been born in the Soviet Union than Barack Obama to have been born in Africa.
The Archdiocese of Bridgeport provides Case Management services. Obama’s case file was transferred from Hartford to Danbury to provide Welfare to Work Transition service to Obama. Filing for and obtaining a SSN would be a part of the service provided at the Archdiocese of Bridgeport.
In 1977, Obama was a Permanent Legal Resident with Indonesian Nationality eligible to obtain an SSN. The Tax Reform Act of 1976 amended Section 205(c)(2) of the Social Security to require social service agencies to obtain the SSN of recipients or terminate aid.

You know, it’s a funny thing, but the EXACT same services are provided by the Archdiocese of Honolulu Catholic Charities http://www.catholiccharitieshawaii.org/site/388/difficulties_encountered_by_immigrants_and_refugees.aspx
There is absolutely NO reason anyone arriving in Honolulu from Jakarta would be turned over to a group in Connecticut when the same services are provided in Honolulu. Nor would a child whose loving grandparents are waiting for him be a refugee or turned over to social services.
Anyone who suggests otherwise is not only an idiot, but a sleezy idiot.

ImaObot is probably right about Barack Obama being snatched up by Catholic Charities as a refugee the minute he landed in Connecticut after a flight from Kenya, and then taken in as a refugee. When I was 13, I took a flight, alone, from Chicago to Baltimore. Although my parents had always been very loving and excellent caregivers my entire life, they were 30 minutes late to pick me up at BWI airport, so I was instantly taken into the custody of child protective services. I haven’t seen mom or dad since. They said that they wanted to protect me from the horrible monsters who would abandon their child in Baltimore.

I normally ignore factless Sven, but when I noticed the location issue, I had the urge to se how he would spin that one. I actually left a possible alternative for him to use in his spin and he missed it. He would need to do the research to see what I missed.
