NH ballot challenge spurs new round of merchandising

The electoral challenge by Orly Taitz and 4 New Hampshire state representatives was to no avail; President Obama will appear on the 2012 Presidential Ballot in New Hampshire. However, following the shameless business of political fundraising, the Obama Campaign is using the occasion to re-release its anti-birther coffee mug from last April.

It is interesting, but hardly surprising, that the Obama Campaign does follow the ins and outs of the birther movement, as evidenced by their latest email message from Deputy Campaign Manager Julianna Smoot to supporters that is an obvious reference to the latest birther goalposts:image

Sadly, I don’t have any microfiches on hand, but we have the next  best thing: In honor of birthers everywhere, we’re re-releasing the campaign’s limited-edition “Made in the USA” mugs.

The mugs feature a photo of Barack Obama with the title “Made in the USA” with his long-form birth certificate on the back. You can get your own with a $20 contribution at BarackObama.com.

Or if you’re a birther, you can give Orly $20 towards her $10,000+ per month mortgage.

If you’re lucky, she might mock you or beg for more in broken English on her blog.

Got mine along with the “This Cat for Obama 2012” kitteh collar. My kitteh is ready for the next round of catshite.

Not to plug it…the BHO store.

I don’t think the Obama campaign is following the ins and outs of the birther movement.

Birthers actually believe that President Obama is consumed with their every nuttie theory. They talk about how “he must be up all night losing sleep, fearing that he is about to be exposed” and “he’s smoking extra since [insert Orly’s latest failure here],” when in reality, the campaign pokes fun and ridicules them, as evidenced by the mugs and that e-m ail you reference there. All this proves is that the campaign saw an opportunity and seized it, as they would with any other type of fundraising opportunity.

But “following the ins and outs?” I don’t think so……….

Certainly hope that’s true. All the same, rather they raise money selling mugs than whoring themselves to wall street. (Though I guess there’s that too.)

I see from her web-site that Orly has fallen out with another bunch, this time the RINOS in NH.
She has threatened them with treason trials when the birthers get to power. I wonder how many that makes? It’s hard to keep up but she will need a big jailhouse to hold them all. That is if she dosen’t hang them without trial. I am reminded of a scene in The Quiet Man when Will Danagher has his first run-in with Sean Thornton. He tells his side -kick Feeney to get out the black book, put Thornton’s name in it and then put a stroke through it! That’ll do for him, he says.

How many of us are in Orly’s black book, do you think? I pity the ones who have gone so far as to get a stroke as well.

Oh well, theres always another state or court or debate town hall meeting and not forgetting that Sherriff Joe is about to come out with some earthshaking news any day now.

Orly Taitz is a self-serving, opportunistic and shameful stain, an embarrassment to the honorable profession of the practice of law, an insult to naturalized citizens and a complete disgrace to our nation.

This is not an issue of free speech. With her tirades, unending lies and actions, she is actively promoting violence among her bigoted sycophants. If she incites a lone wolf to commit a felony, she should be prosecuted as an accessory.

At the very least, she should be sanctioned heavily and then disbarred.

If DJ Bettencourt is a RINO, who on earth is left as a Real Republican? He’s one of the top conservatives in New Hampshire. Granted that’s a New England Conservative, but if DJ is a RINO then the purity test needs some recalibrating.

By Orly’s definition, any Republican who has not gone over the cliff with her is a RINO.

  15. G says:

Yep. That is exactly all it means anymore.

With how far right things have shifted into crazyland, RINO should be owned with pride and worn as a badge of honor. Such a title indicates that the person RETAINS some level of sanity.

    O/T to G,

I have been busy going to school and working, two responsibilities that weren’t even on the radar a few months ago. I therefore have been taping The Walking Dead (my husband forced me to start watching it last season and then I got hooked). It was late one night and one of the episodes was replaying (I had not seen any yet). I was by myself, in the dark,… so I decided to catch up under better circumstances. I found myself repeating the mantra “there is no such thing as zombies, there is no such thing as zombies…” as I walked the dark hallway to bed. I now have found something that will help me:

    LOL! Zombie Treadmill Defense…priceless!

My wife didn’t watch The Walking Dead with me last year, but I talked both her & my father-in-law to tune in when they did the Season 1 Marathon, followed by the Season 2 premiere…and they both were instantly HOOKED!!! Now it is my wife’s favorite show! (mine too…)

While on show recommendations – I also recommend “Once Upon a Time” on ABC at 8pm on Sunday – you can still jump in and quickly pick up the storyline. Really creative and unique concept and well done… best thing, you can watch this at 8pm and then tune in to The Walking Dead at 9pm! (can’t wait for the “mid-season finale” this Sun…)

  20. G says:

I would expect that campaign staff have a duty to try to follow things & opinions much more closely than administration staff, who need to focus on their jobs in helping to run the country. Therefore, campaign staff should have a greater overall awareness of even rumor mill items and disparaging remarks.

Any campaign that isn’t trying to keep up on such things on at least a high level is not doing its job sufficiently.

And yes, I agree that they view Birtherism as a bad punchline and not a credible threat.

*facepalm* Oh good grief! Why am I not surprised that psycho-nut Pamela Geller is behind this? She definitely is one of those folks who has totally gone over the cliff in her bogeyman fear of muslims under her bed coming to get her…

Just another example of how pure irrational and emotionally gut-based fears cause people to act stupid and go off the rails.

Here was a good article addressing the issue. I got a chuckle out of the summary statement directed as a throw up the hands solution to those who simply want to worry about this silly fear:

Bottom line: if Americans can’t bear the thought of putting something labeled halal in their mouths, their best bet is to stick with ham – a meat guaranteed to be free of Islamic influence, stealthy or otherwise.

Majority Will, when you looked at that youtube video, did you also notice all those links to DUTCH videos on the right? I mean, videos with music both in English and Dutch from the group Yes-R?

I want to be sure, before I start checking the people behind these uploads that I am not seeing things that Google or some other personalizing algorithm put there.

It is not the first time I see something that suggests a link between Orly and her Dutch alter ego, Geert Wilders.

  30. Keith says:

I see some links for Yes after the KBOA rubbish. It all looks to be in English to me. I didn’t click them, I’m on mwy way to bed, but I didn’t notice anything Dutch related in any of them.

Don’t know why the Yes stuff is related to KBOA, maybe Tracy likes Yes (so do I, big deal) and has been uploading their stuff on using the same account? Dunno didn’t pay attention.

    Good night f-f-f-f-f-folks.

  31. Judge Mental says:

Crossing my fingers and hoping fervently that you’re joking Paul, there’s enough paranoia amongst the birthers without the sane rational folks joining in.

The first word in KBOA’s text narrative accompanying her video upload is “Yes”. I think that almost certainly explains why youtube generated some other videos with a “Yes” connection for the side bar on that page.

That’s apart from the fact that the youtube uploader KBOA isn’t Orly and that comparing the focus of Geert Wilder’s campaigns to that of Orly’s is a little bit of a stretch in any case.

I think it’s a simple YouTube script that uses keywords and localization from IP addresses to personalize video suggestions.

The “Yes” keyword was picked up by this mentally challenged, deranged birther’s video upload description dribble for her nonsensical, video stupidity:

“Yes, Commissioner Jameson French, who is supposedly a Republican . . .”

Any . . . day . . . now. I wonder how how many birthers are so consumed by hatred and fear that they lose custody of their children?

  33. Sef says:

Orly is under the impression that she has a hearing in Honolulu on 11/30. Has the judge granted her a hearing? I don’t see an order to that effect on the HI docket for her case.

Not really orly or Wilders material – I was indeed being paranoid here, but Orly likes Wilders (not only because he dyes his hair like she does) and there is a lot of birthing going on Dutch blogs – and ALWAYS by Geert Wilders voters.
