Yawn

One of the differences between me and the birthers is that the birthers hope or even expect something to happen as the result of their activity contesting Obama’s eligibility as President of the United States. I have no such hopes or expectations that anything I do will make any difference. I believe Obama will remain in office until the next election and then that the voters will decide who will be the next President based on issues entirely divorced from eligibility – and I’m good with that.

Without my help, Republicans in California will reject Orly Taitz’s Senate bid. The number of birthers, I guessing, will remain fairly stable. There is no windmill that needs a lance stuck in it. The legal arguments are done and barring a new court decision, not much to challenge the mind there. I find no fun in ridiculing unfortunate people.

I say all this to explain why there hasn’t been much new material on the blog of late. I’ve been pursuing some other interests as you can see by my recent articles over at Blog or Die! I’ve been  and will be traveling some too.

Knowing myself from past years, I will probably get fired up as the election heats up next year. I also intend to ease up (and already have) on “topical purity” in this site so we can talk about critical thinking or more specifically the lack thereof in the 2012 campaign. I continue to care about the human toll birtherism has on individuals and will continue to reflect that concern in articles here, such as the recent series on Darren Huff. I’ll also keep the open threads going so you folks can talk about your own birther-related interests.

Made me think about my neighbor’s high school granddaughter which they took in as she could no longer tolerate her birther father. Recently while sitting on my porch I saw the father drive up. My wife called me to come in, the daughter had sneaked out the back door and was at our back door asking us to hide her till the dad left. The idiot has no idea of the toll he created. For her HS Graduation I bought her a netbook computer to use in college, she calls me her second grandfather. Once I tried to reason with the father to no avail, he is so into hate for Obama there is no room for reason. What does he say of Obama, “He is a muslim usurper trying to take our guns away”
    .
    So sad!

  6. Tarrant says:

Well, tomorrow is a “big day” as Orly Taitz hits New Hampshire trying to get President Obama thrown off the ballot. And she will fail, as usual, and claim the board is biased, or bought off, and that she is right on the law and the multiple lawyers on the board don’t know what they’re talking about.

I fully expect sometime next year there WILl be a case where a court gives a ruling on the merits (I know Ankeny sort-of did but birthers always seem to forget that one) and they will hold that Wong Kim Ark is controlling law, that birth within the United States is sufficient to establish natural born citizenship, and that the documents that are certified by the state of Hawaii are admissible under Full Faith and Credit. And birthers will scream that they got the law wrong, to no avail.

One thing I find amusing is that birthers seem to feel like of they just get a court to see their bogus Minor v Happensert logic, they’d “win”. I contend that if it ever did get that far and somehow people up throug the federal courts agreed, they completely discount the possibility that the (imaginary) case can be overturned. Even of the birthers were right on every point, I still think they’d lose as a Court would overturn a case before removing a sitting elected President.

  7. The Magic M says:

Tarrant: as a Court would overturn a case before removing a sitting elected President

Maybe, but the propaganda value would probably be enough to block a re-election (if this ever happened before the 2012 elections). Don’t forget birfers will take *anything* that would remove Obama – my bet is that if he were to resign today due to some scandal, most of them would instantly forget about Vattelism or “usurper” because they really only were about “getting the black guy out”.
Those who would continue their follies are probably a fringe among the fringe – probably the 30 guys who go to birther rallies plus a couple hundred more who also believe in chemtrails, NWO and lizard people.

  8. Bran Mak Morn says:

While fringe lunatics used to be small little groups before the internet, the internet has been a tool by which their numbers have swelled. Group think on forums convinces many who have no background, and they become true believers, not taking the time to think things through. It’s getting bad.

Bran Mak Morn: the internet has been a tool by which their numbers have swelled

Still they’re a fringe minority compared to the entire populace and even compared to small interest groups (such as your average flash mob). Just look at the numbers whenever chemtrail believers, hollow Earth disciples or birthers gather. Not even ID is getting much traction on the streets.

These movements only become a problem when they’ve got massive backing by people with actual influence (such as presidential candidates).

Since you seem to be an Orly fan, I am curious as to your thoughts about Orly also trying to run for that very same Senate office.

Yes, I did also try to watch that 10-min imbedded interview you had with him…but that constant bizarre “filmstrip” cut-editing effect was extremely annoying and the interview itself was mind numbingly dull and boring.

    Hi G,

I cant disclose any more information, at the moment, regarding Lincoln for US Senate 2012.

Additionally, I’m not exactly entirely sure that anyone would classify me as an ‘Orly fan’.

I believe that competition is great and if Taitz and Lincoln are to run for the same Government Office I would encourage them both to continue to do so. I’d prefer though that Lincoln, over Taitz (no pun intended), wins.

Since Charles E. Lincoln III is a disbarred felon unable to legally practice law in California, Texas, and Florida because of his many mortgage scams, I would think his chances of getting elected for dogcatcher would be a extreme long shot.

But Lucas’ bromance with CEL III and a con artist’s mentor makes perfect sense.

Thank you. I wished a long time ago birthers realized they were getting nothing done while focusing on the BC. Obama is from CHI and knows “no body, no murder”. Police can’t start an investigation without evidence. As long as he says he has one, there’s no evidence of crime and not 1 to investigate. And what judge would supeona him (one ready to retire!). FYI, while on topic, only smart populations of low muder rates and dumb ones are high. BECAUSE DUMB ONES LEAVE BODIES EVERYWHERE! If you have no choice and split sec decide to defend you & urs, then dont feel !00% bout ur chances in a San Fran,9 women, 3 110 llb males, all prius owning jury, get rid of bad guy x please, so our stats have MIA, not DOA. (while giving cops a day without amurder to see and solve)
Anyway, my point is, consider the results and effectivness of your actions;beliefs, words. Understand that no one on govt payroll would allow such a disaster to the world’s belief in the U.S’s rule of law and founding idea that anyone could make it here. B.O. kicked out… prison even? Add race and the conseqences are much too much. Just as 911′ ers tried, collapse of U.S govt as we know it? HA! Going against 10s of millions of govt employees from the U.S; and all client states who depend on our “aid” (cash) and the greatest army ever, they just gotta ask and maybe claim someone is mean to them (racisms best bet)? Most govts with half theyre country on payroll, more secret police than youd imagine, police, army, oil…etc. All with interest in a stable enough U.S. cash flow system from Congress and pres (funded by banks of course..mostly,since treasury has only spider webs now).
I have more rambling but i’ll spare you, and offer something that no 911er,birther, or grassy knoll ever offered, advice on actual actions of what to do that doesn’t envolve the destruction of the U.S Govt & then the inevitable fight for survival of leaders left and right using with U.S intelligence sabotage. BTW, I’m ex 911er and now Bush’s biggest fan!
B.O. already got his 1st 4, too late for anthing jan 1st 08 on (think Bush2000, less votes and a win due to using the system, even if laws were “bent”). The birthers chance was berfore election… NEXT! If you truly belive he is out to damage our state, do every sane thing you can. Watch him, every damaging decision get the loudspeaker out. 1st would have been his anti-Bush campaign-CHANGE- with giving banks couple trillion.more than evil ol 44 -Research- any policy harmful articulate it with no “he aint from here!”, or close to Bush policy call media.. local, Fox, talk radio, whatever. Lately his promise of energy independence yet blocking the private pipeline from Canada to Texas due to environmental lobby, though all that oil now has to be trucked here at higher costs & C02, less jobs building:20,000 directly. This just ones off the top of my head.
But this should being screamed. With dozens of others anti US policies. To save you time, assuming if your still reading your intelligent, have a job, and so busy. A decent moment might have been BP spill. The left, with environmental cash monopoly, blocked drilling due to theyre amazinly beutiful east, west ocean views (AKA tourist $$) thus forcing drillers deeper south into the Gulf, MILES UNDER the BOTTOM, for fuel to truck & fly all their veggies! Getting oil is only Richly efficient in Saudi now where they stick a straw a few hundy miles in sand and natural pressure shoots out $60 worth for $1 in. We didn’t take the chance to steer nationl convo to why the left has us dying miles under water so Long Bech and Nantucket, marthas vineyard (where career politicos sail) think drills are ugly, As would I when I earn the $$,as its,lil tough now to deep sea fish being in Baton Rouge.

P.S. I’m posting a few more paragraphs in the morning so this does’nt become a novel 😉 Just 3to 4 sentences on why BO is pres… that it took 2 things, one natural and one eeaasyy trick that all “great oraters” do that’ll make u say ‘God D***! how didnt I hear that his 1st “rally”. 28. G says:

    Kyle,

May I suggest that before you waste your time spewing forth more rambling and fairly incoherent paragraphs, that you stop to pause and collect your frantic thoughts into separate and concise concepts and then try simply introducing one at a time.

You can always add tie-in anecdotes and other information during back and forth dialogue. Really, the only way to get heard or taken seriously is to demonstrate that you can carry on a conversation and not just endlessly ramble on without listening or interacting.

Further, you need to learn to use paragraphs better to make your ideas more readable across the internet and break things up. Such “pauses” between concepts not only improve readability but also allow time for actual refection between points. WIthout that, all you are doing is introducing a steady stream of static that the human condition tends to quickly tune out.

I am glad to hear that you are a “recovering truther”. Obviously, you do still suffer from a lot of paranoia and anxiety and it certainly comes across that way in your posts.

But if you want people to start taking you seriously, you need to learn how to pause and build a constructive and interactive dialogue instead of just spewing a brain dump of rambling and slander-filled rumour-mill sounding spew that in all honesty, only comes across to others as crazy…

I’m willing to have an adult discussion and try to listen if you are willing to at least try and attempt to have one. I realize that learning to break some of your old habits and improve that communication ability with others outside of your usual safe-bubble zones may take a while, but I’m willing to give you a chance if you can demonstrate you are willing to try and make that effort.

So start with focusing on one small important starting point that you want to engage others with here and simply provide some valid reference material and links to both support it and allow for further reading and response.
