Since the open thread is anew, I hope it is okay to post my questios for Rambo Ike here.

    bob jApril 26, 2012 at 11:51 pm (Quote)#

Okay, Rambo Ike. Thank-you for answering the question I posed. There are still some things that confuse me.

Were there any official connection between the supporters of Obama, and the campaign?

I don’t recall any kind of backlash against McCain for running against Obama.

Are you extrapolating a small minority of supporters, who may have acted in the way you describe.?After all each side has extremists.

I have not misrepresented what you stated. I have asked for your clarification. If you can read your own post, and fail to see the connection you made, then I am at a loss. Your own connection is awkward, at best.

As for people who don’t believe Obama, are you talking about people who don’t think he was born in Hawaii?

Rambo Ike: The thread, Zee Big Lie, is a classic example of when the 0bama supporters address subjects other than Birther issues, they become completely lost, and have no idea of the core facts or what the truth is.

Again, I don’t want to put words into your post, but does this mean that the President’s supporters who address birthers are right? I know plenty of people who think the President has done a good job. But that gets into politics, which is not the crux of this site.

What is the President’s role in your analogy?

For the record, I am not an Obama supporter. I admire the President, as I do every President, but I love my country more than any President.

  2. Northland10 says:

As bad as you and some others were I found that Northland10 took 1st prize with his insertion of the red herring “Woods Fund” to change up the subject matter and tell an outright lie.

Rambo brought up Woods Fund to which I pointed out the mission of the group. Exactly how is pointing out their mission to help people in the community, a big lie? The response was to counter the direct statement used by Mr. Rambo that conflated any service together on a Foundation Board to some nefarious scheme or “association.”

Sorry Doc, for continuing this, but I thought, in light of being accused of some outright lie, I should explain myself. If you wish to halt this discussion, that is fine with me.

Ah, but to be fair, that is only because moldy sponges understand legal issues better than your average birther.

  5. bob j says:

It seems that birthers have big mouths and no memories, so they feel they can write anything they want and when they forget it; it was never said.

    The semantic gymnastic display by Rambo Ike over the last couple of weeks would wipe the grin off Mary Lou, but he did give this gem;

bob j: Rambo Ike: The thread, Zee Big Lie, is a classic example of when the 0bama supporters address subjects other than Birther issues, they become completely lost, and have no idea of the core facts or what the truth is

Part of why I come to this site is the honest nature of the people here. At least the ones who will admit when they are wrong. For the ones who try to talk them self into being right by changing the subject, I have little patience.

I do apologize for my role in keeping this particular thread going. Since Rambo Ike doesn’t seem to have any sense of honor, honesty, or intellectual integrity ( instead throwing out incendiary comments with no basis in fact) I shall merely laugh to myself, and refrain from the submit button, when the next whopper comes out.

  10. Dave says:

ORYR has a story about the TN ballot challenge by the Liberty Legal Foundation, in which they get all excited about something the judge said. In my view, their excitement is poorly founded. The article is Judge Wants Definition of Natural Born Citizen: Obama’s Eligibility Important and Not Trivial.

The background is that the defendant removed the case from state to federal court, and LLF moved that it be remanded back to state court. The judge disagreed. In his denial of the motion he patiently and tediously detailed why the case must stay in federal court. Which is basically that the LLF claims the case turns on the definition of NBC, the definition of NBC is a federal question, LLF disagrees with the defendant on the definition of NBC, and the this issue is not a trivial side issue of the litigation.

Here’s how the LLF has taken this: “The Court’s statements strongly imply that it has already decided many of the issues that usually lead to procedural dismissals, and that it has decided them in our favor.”

Birthers are experts at setting themselves up for disappointment.

  11. Paul Pieniezny says:

Daniel: Would that be a synthetic sponge? Or Natural Born?

A sponge who/that (depends on sea or land sponge) lets the judge do the talking. Will beat the Putz every time.

  12. Dave B. says:

I keep seeing the Cold Case Posse’s material being referred to as the result of an actual investigation, in spite of the lack of evidence that a qualified investigator participated. Not to mention the participation of those individuals who have no business going anywhere near an actual investigation, except as its subject, like Jerome Corsi and Mara Zebest; and the wacky methods engaged in by all concerned. The question I really want an answer to is Why Zullo? What’s he ever done? In pursuance of that matter, I have come up with a new slogan:
Mike Zullo, Release Your Records! or MZRYR, for short. ZRYR, even shorter.

  13. Most of the time when a county sheriff announces an investigation and the finding of “probable cause” it actually means something significant. Sheriff Joe is a special case, but I don’t blame folks taking him seriously.

Dave B.: I keep seeing the Cold Case Posse’s material being referred to as the result of an actual investigation, in spite of the lack of evidence that a qualified investigator participated.

Death of L.A. County coroner technician fires up conspiracy theorists

A longtime technician in the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has died. He was 61. What makes it suspicious? He was “seemingly healthy,” yet “suddenly stricken” and he may have died from arsenic poisoning. And he died last week –the same week Andrew Brietbart’s autopsy report was released.

The story drew conspiracy theorists to the L.A. Times comment section. Said one:

The quickest way to commit suicide? Know some dirt on the government, and even think about putting it out to the public.

    Other comments:

Obama Death Toll (so far)….. 3 gay choir members at Trinity Church in Chicago, where Obama attended Rev Wright’s sermons for twenty years. Plus one Kam Kuwata (Democrat Strategist and Dianne Feinstein best friend) who went missing and was found 2 weeks later, dead inside his Venice Beach home. Plus Andrew Breitbart who died “of natural causes” in LA. And NOW, the LA Coroner who (possibly) helped investigate Breitbart’s death gets poisoned to death with arsenic, the same week the Breitbart autopsy report is due for release!

Bottom line, Andrew was killed right before spilling the beans on Obama, The Obama story first released after Andrews death on Hannity was nothing more than a cut an edit (cover up) of nothing new. The coroner was poisoned to prevent him spilling the beans.

Whoa, Brietbart died on Hannity? Has anybody examined the bubbly bottles in Hannity’s Green Room? Or do you just mean his routine went over like a lead balloon? Was it lead poisoning?

donna: The coroner was poisoned to prevent him spilling the beans.

Let me get this straight… a coroner’s lab technician figured out what Breitbart was going to expose from examining the bodily fluids of his corpse?

Lucas D. Smith: Dear regarded readers of the Obama Conspiracy Theories website,
I have published a new blog report regarding Mitt Romney vs Barack Obama!

Well, Lucas, very revealing. A birther admits that he would vote for “an ineligible Obama” over Rmoney; that is, if he were able to vote. It goes along with what I have believed from the beginning. It is not and never was about eligibility, but simply about not liking Obama for one or another reason (ideology, race, party, White Sox fan) and looking for an excuse rather than simply being honest.

But let’s all be honest-elections in the US come down to a binary choice in the end. How many could not imagine a candidateso awful that they would vote for an opponent whom they believed to be ineligible? Imagine a race between David Duke and Jennifer Granholm or Madeline Albright- wouldn’t the naturalized citizens be the obviously preferable choice?

Donna, there’s an ongoing thread at Amazon, re” Breitbart conspiracies, pretty much a one-man show by a guy obsessed with Fashion Furryness and The Tragic Death Bartholomew Andbart. He keeps laying out elaborate claims about what did/didn’t kill AB, but doesn’t commit to any particular conspiracy explaining who dunnit (boooo).

Interesting article at Cracked.com: 5 Ways to Spot a BS Political Story in Under 10 Seconds.

There’s a paragraph at the end that really hits home for me and explains why I don’t get into political debates. I have my beliefs and vote for the candidate I think is best and don’t care to discuss it with anyone.

I’m telling you from experience, watching political races this way is addictive as shit. You have thousands of years of violent tribal instincts pumping through your veins, itching for a fight. That makes you an easy tool for manipulation, and every good politician and pundit knows how to push those buttons to make people march neatly in formation.

Don’t succumb. Or else you’ll start supporting the most bullshit legislation just because your guy is for it. Or you’ll start knee-jerk rejecting anything the other “team” proposes. Not because it’s bad for the country, but because you want to deny them a “win.”

It’s a poisonous way of thinking. It will lower your IQ, it will rot your ability to think critically about the subjects that really matter. It’s bad for you, it’s bad for democracy, it’s bad for the world. You have to be better and smarter than the person they think you are. Or else we’re all fucked.

I think I realized this when I got into a particularly nasty discussion on the controversial Wisconsin union busting law. I didn’t really understand the issue, nor am I affected by it (since I live in Delaware and don’t work for the public sector), but I felt this urge to fight for it because I wanted to support my team and crush the other team. I found myself saying some really nasty things that I regret to a guy on the other team, which makes me feel really bad because he’s a real nice guy.

And arsenic poison? Probably the easiest poison to detect….so lets review the mind of the Conspiracy theorist….guy at coroners office dies- it must have been Arsenic poisoning! and it must have been for a reason…because after all…if you are trying to cover something up…you kill one of dozens if not hundreds of coroner employees, and do it by the easiest method to detect by the very department he worked at.

…Bill Warren, the Californian treasure hunter who claimed he was searching for Osama Bin Laden’s dead body back in June 2011. He didn’t find him then, but now he claims he has located the cadaver.

…He says he pinpointed the drop point from photos recently released by the US Navy.

…he is ready to start the diving for Osama’s body bag: he says he’s aiming at starting the mission on June 1, and that he may be able to find the body in “under a week.” … He declares that his only fear is that the US Government would kill him or sink his boat.

…Warren says he is doing this because he doesn’t “believe the Obama administration” and he wants to have proof that it is really his body.

“A citizen by birth is one who by constitutional or statutory provision is made or recognized as a potential GOP vice presidential candidate, a document found in the U.S.
He continued, “Natural Born Citizen’ is a citizen of a specific nation by the PixelPatriot website, confirming that Marco Rubio was born in the National Archives raises questions.”

A natural born citizenship status, subject only to the 14th Amendment, extended by 8 USC Section 1401 was written to define natural born citizen’ or to Article 2, Section 1,” Corsi said.
He continued, “Natural Born Citizen’ is a citizen of a specific nation by the law governing natural born citizen, then, is a citizen of a particular state in order for the mother and child return to China and Turkey and raise the child.

The brouhaha over President Obama’s birth certificate – has revealed a widespread ignorance of some of the universe of nation-states, and is universal as to person, and fixed as to time
Baier asserted that people born in the National Archives and posted online from the White House last year has been retrieved from the White House correspondent.

I can’t get on board with that. I dated a first generation Romanian Jew for many years. They also emigrated through Israel. His mother has more in common with Orly than I would ever care to mention specifically in public.

I can’t make light of the real horrors that some who have found refuge on our shores endured in their younger years, or what their parents witnessed. If I told you the stories I heard from that family, I’d be permanently censored here. You just can’t desribe them in polite company.

Some of these immigrants really are permanently scarred.

My bf’s mother was so scarred that she couldn’t even react to the fall of the Berlin wall. I happened to be there with her when it happened and she was stoic about it. She couldn’t trust it.

We absolutely do have people in our country, citizens now or soon to be, who suffered elsewhere. Who uphold our Constitution every day and are grateful to do so.

Good point. I was trying to explain that burial at sea should take into account that the oceans’ currents and tides can move flotsam and jetsam onto shores as well as dumped bodies unless they’re wrapped or bagged and weighted (e.g., cement shoes, anchors, etc.). And sending the dead off on ice floes or burning ships may not be good ideas either.

Indian tribal citizenship is a weird morass … and a Vattelist’s dream. No one gets in the club w/o papers. But if you have papers, you’re in no question.
