Photoshopped Obama photo appears in Romney ad

I wrote about the Photoshopped photo of Barack Obama, subtracted from a photo of his grandparents. That photo keeps popping up online and on TV, and now Conan O’Brien showed a Romney campaign ad with the photo!

This is a really strange ad, and the Republicans must be getting pretty desperate, bypassing the birther conspiracy theories and getting to the very heart of denying the legitimacy of Barack Obama as President of the United States.

Check out the video for yourself.

OT, I just got out of the hospital yesterday after being in there for a week.
What I at first thought was just a simple sore throat turned into septicemia.
I was told I might not make it and began making plans for my death.
I now have an IV tube installed in my heart and have to go to the hospital daily for antibiotic infusions for the next 8 weeks.
    But, I’m still alive!

The post on Cashill’s buffoonery with the New York photo was the first time I ever read the comments here. I was flabbergasted by the stupidity of the birfer commenters who were suspicious of the photo because, when they zoomed way in and examined each individual pixel, it looked fake. And I was equally confused that there were commenters who felt that such idiocy deserved to be refuted. I understand now that engaging birfers in any sort of interaction will necessarily involve unfathomable stupidity. Stupidity or a high tolerance for it are prerequisites for being a birfer or a birfer engager, respectively. (I am neither. I’m just here for the lolz.)

The funny thing is that Romney is such a bad campaigner that even if Obama didn’t exist, Romney would still be losing. Losing to an empty chair-now where have I seen that before?

wonderful ad, Conan – but if the choices is indeed Romney or no one, which would I go for?

    H’m, let me think now……………

    Good luck, Horus.

Um… that’s not a real Romney ad. I’m sure you know that, but your commentary doesnt seem clear on that? Thanks for the GREAT website by the way. It has assisted me in countless arguments with birthers.

I’m glad you are! I’ve been told on 3 occasions to make my final arrangements. Kinda sucks, but having survived those incidents, I find in general that it’s good to clear out the cobwebs, trash the unnecessary paperwork, get rid of the momentos, and kiss off those clothes you think you might fit again “some day”. Plus tell people what you really think. Yeah, it’s scary, yet also freeing. And peaceful. Hope your hospital visits end soon and you do just fine without them!

In Birtherstan, fiction and reality are equally indistinguishable. 😉

For example, the faux ad claims that one Obama speech actually occurred in a break during a free Green Day concert.
I have read claims on one birther website last year that the Obama speech in Berlin (July 2008) in front of some 200,000 Germans celebrating him was actually taped during a free live concert and that “people had no idea who the guy was”. (Just bummer that there was no live concert in Berlin that day.)

So you see, no faux claim is so outlandish that it hasn’t been made before by real deluded people in real earnest.
