Trump tweets; ORYR incites

In a contest for the most narcissistic person, I don’t know whether Donald Trump or Orly Taitz wins. In retrospect which was the worst: Orly Taitz believing that she could stop Romney from conceding the election by posting “STOP!!!” on her blog, or Donald Trump thinking he could change the outcome of the election by offering $5 million for Obama long-destroyed college records?

Last night, though, Donald Trump went on what has been called a “rampage” on Twitter. ABC News made a compilation that includes this one:

We can’t let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty.

Birthers are happy to use Trump’s tweets to raise the specter of armed insurrection, such as a headline at Obama Release Your Records: “Trump calls for revolution, blasts Electoral College.”

ORYR also reports: “‘Riots’ brew on Ole Miss campus.” Perhaps this signals a new round of tough-sounding talk to vent frustration over the big birther loss.

Judging solely by online commentary and ignoring names, Trump is a run-of-the-mill, Deep Red, wingnut birfer. His tweets are perfectly in line with the commentary at WND and FREEP …. I spotted one last night that suggested: “Maybe we’ll finally hear from our friends in Idaho and Montana who have finally been so quiet these past years.”

Outsourcing militia dreams? What a brave soul.

Trump is on the road, pitchfork and torch in hand? … or “hair” on fire in lieu of torch?

AS long as the keyboard warriors keep wishing someone, anyone else would actualize their firey fantasies for them, we’re all quite safe.

I would like to know about the sudden end of his tirade …. did someone unplug him, or more likely, did he simply come unglued, fire-ready-aim, and then—after it was too late—realize he was being an ass?

As funny as it was, it’s even tastier to witness such outbursts in person. I highly recommend it. For those of you not lucky enough to live in an intellectually-depressed zone, I can arrange a tour ….. 😉

  3. I wonder if anybody will start Tweeting again about “Second Amendment Remedies”?

Maybe short outbursts of temper – like the people who beat their wife and 5 minutes later cry “oh I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to”.

  5. john says:

OBAMA HAS BEEN REELECTED!!! IT IS DECISIVE!! Only one hope remains for birthers. Because most GOP Congressmen and Senators are “Shell Shocked” by Obama’s win last night, they may now be open to the opportunity to reach out to Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his investigation in Obama’s eligibility. I urge all birthers to contact their Congressman and Senator and tell them to reach out to Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Congressmen and Senators do have one last hope of STOPPING Obama…..
Each Congressman and Senator has the power to file a written OBJECTION to the Joint Session of Congress when it convenes in January citing Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s investigation and Obama’s identity and eligibility problems. Once filed, Congress MUST HAVE special congressional debate into the matter. Mike Zullo has said he demanding a Congressional investigation into the matter…I give you the Joint Session of Congress.

  6. An amusing suggestion. Sheriff Joe didn’t do an investigation. Some birthers did a conspiracy compilation and Sheriff Joe published it. Silly. I don’t know now many idiots there are in Congress, but not nearly enough to invalidate the election based on conspiracy theories.

It’s nice that you keep visiting to remind us now wacky the birthers are.

john: Each Congressman and Senator has the power to file a written OBJECTION to the Joint Session of Congress when it convenes in January citing Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s investigation and Obama’s identity and eligibility problems.

    Sound and fury, signifying nothing.

    Some questions:

Where does birtherism go from here? There will always be birthers but really what can they hope to accomplish now?

Lawsuits to stop the certifying of votes? Donofrio tried that in New Jersey in 2008 and failed.

Can they even sue to block the Electorial College’s vote?
A new mime for them – there are members of the EC who are not going to cast their votes for President Obama.

Letter, email writing campaign to Congress to stop them from certifing the EC vote?
‘All we need is one honest Representative and one honest Senator to stand up for the Constitution.’

Beyond Orly – do they honestly think any lawsuit will get him marched out of the White House in handcuffs?

Now that he’s been re-elected does Arpaio drop the whole thing?
I’m guessing no more birther news conferences.

Is there any point to pushing the birther agenda for sites like WND?
Beyond the hard core birthers, how much of an audience is there for the Muslim, gay, foreign exchange student, fake SSn, SSR and BC themes, now that the American people say they don’t care.

What does this mean for the two citizen parent guys like Mario?
Birthers loved to promote polls that showed that large numbers of Americans doubted the BC or birthplace of the President. Apparently, the majority of Americans don’t think it matters,

It’s not a Consitutional Amendment, but, did the vote absolutely decide the meaning of “natural born citizen”?

  8. john says:

Call your Congressman and Senator and tell them to file a written objection with the Joint Session of Congress when it convenes in January citing the investigation of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Congress must investigate and debate every objection and CANNOT, I repeat CANNOT ignore such an objection.

  9. john says:

Actually Doc, it would only take one Congressman and Senator to file a written objection. Once Filed, Congress is MANDATED AND REQUIRED under the Constitution to debate and entertain the issue. Congress CANNOT IGNORE IT! I am highly doubtful any will step up to plate. It would have to be someone with intense courage and fortitude, something that I don’t think one Congressman or Senator has except for Orly Taitz(Assuming she had won Senator of CA.)

  10. Bob says:

There is something left for Birthers to do: apologize to the President, his supporters, and America for their long, ugly, shameful, baseless attempt to smear Obama.

    John, let’s begin with you.

  11. john says:

In fact Doc, based on the law, Any Congressman and Any Senator can file an objection about the election about anything they want. It doesn’t neccessarlly have to be about validity of the votes. Some members of Congress have suggested Obama be impeached for different things. If any Congress wants file an objection based on that, they have power and Congress CANNOT DENY discussion or debate into the matter.

The power to object is last check and balance measure.

    Basically it is like this….

Congress is ready to certify the election and declare Obama the winner…..

If ANY Congressman or Senator has an OBJECTION, speak NOW!!!…OR forever hold your peace!

Most Congressmen and Senators do not APPRECIATE the power to object.

Dream on, John. The last time that happened was in 2004, when Barbara Boxer and a Representative from Ohio objected to the counting of Ohio’s electoral vote. The “joint session” to resolve the objection lasted less than an hour, as I recall.

Probably back to the same stuff they tried in 2009 and 2010. Trying for removal from office via lawsuit, or trying to get impeachment going. Maybe some suggestions for a military coup or armed revolt.

Saw on Orly’s site that she’s thinking of throwing in the towel.

  18. The Magic M says:

gorefan: Birthers loved to promote polls that showed that large numbers of Americans doubted the BC or birthplace of the President. Apparently, the majority of Americans don’t think it matters

I said it back then – such a poll is meaningless unless it also asks voters if and how that would affect their choice.

It was a similar self-delusion as equating “Obama favorability 47-53” with “Romney win 53-47”.

But if even the right-wing pundits – educated people of course – can’t understand that, how can the average birther who has the IQ of a box of soap and the religious zeal of a cult leader?

  19. Scientist says:

john: Each Congressman and Senator has the power to file a written OBJECTION to the Joint Session of Congress when it convenes in January citing Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s investigation and Obama’s identity and eligibility problems.

Actually, I join you in encouraging them to do so. The more the GOP continues down the road of idiocy and shows they learned nothing from yesterday’s thumping, the happier I am. All Obama has to do send someone down Pennsylvania Avenue wth a paper copy of his b.c. (either long or short will do) and anything Arpaio has to say regarding the pdf is instantly rendered moot.

Besides, john, guess what would happen if Congress refused to accept Obama. The 20th Amendment is very clear. Can you say “President Biden”?

  20. Interesting that you think you know about the powers of Congress more than the Congressmen. I’m bemused.

john: Most Congressmen and Senators do not APPRECIATE the power to object.

  21. BillTheCat says:

YOU LOST JOHN, deal with it. You and your ilk are relegated to the trash heap of history. Obama’s name will be on airports, schools, buildings, and most likely his face will appear on US currency in the future. He will go down as one of our greatest presidents, and there is not a goddamn thing you or any of your clownish pals can do about it.

    BOO HOO.

  22. Actually they can ignore it. They can retire to their respective chambers and vote to ignore it. Since there is no “there” there, such an objection would be summarily voted down.

Your continued denial of the inevitable is bemusing.

Dr. Conspiracy: It’s nice that you keep visiting to remind us now wacky the birthers are.

I agree. Reading his comments is like glancing through an antiquated medical text on the humours. You sit there smiling, thinking, “How could they have gotten it so wrong?”

  26. JPotter says:

john: it would only take one Congressman and Senator to file a written objection. Once Filed, Congress is MANDATED AND REQUIRED under the Constitution to debate and entertain the issue. Congress CANNOT IGNORE IT!

That’s not in my copy Constitution … can you provide a link to the nebulous, ever-changing, super-sekrit, birfer edition?

  27. Anybody can raise an objection, but Congress does not have to take the objection seriously if it is a pile of negligible poorly argued crap. What most of the Birthers continue to ignore is that the burden of proof rests with them. “I object!” is not some magic spell, guaranteed to stop the election result ratification process dead in its tracks. You need, you know, facts and evidence (as in substantive evidence, not circumstantial crap or half-baked submissions from people posing as experts) to have any chance of even having a debate on the merits of an objection.

I spent the night mostly watching OETA, which is Okieland’s branch of PBS. Great coverage of state and local races. Switching between OETA and the various nat’l broadcast and cable networks, it was fascinating to watch Okieland’s elected officials delve deeper into unreality …

(Mary Fallin and Inhofe expressing total confidence in the coming Assumption of the Mitt-Savior was really tasty (“He who will save us from Obamacare!” (this state continues to completely ingnore the ACA)))

… and the electorate further isolate itself by electing an even Red-der slate of representatives …. and retard itself by voting down opportunities to invest in educational and economic development … Okieland truly is the smaller, dumber version of Texas …

… and to watch the horrifying parallels in mentality between Okieland and the Say-It-Ain’t So Dream Factory on FAUX.

And yet, in all that shortsighted craziness and denialism … nor a single mention of birferism.

A whole lotta spin (“Obama has no mandate!” “The Reds lost because they weren’t Red enough!” “The Reds lost because they were too Red!” “Obama’s 2nd term is a FAILURE!” *) …. but not a single birf.

    ___________________

    * Quite a bold predition, Charles Krautzenheimer! (You know, the FAUX News resident Prophet of Doom. I would argue that by its mere existence, Obama’s 2nd tem is already a sterling triumph … it’s keeping the loons in the House in check, and the reins of the military in sane hands.

  30. john says:

“Actually they can ignore it. They can retire to their respective chambers and vote to ignore it. Since there is no “there” there, such an objection would be summarily voted down.”

This is not true. If any objection were to be filed based on Obama’s eligibility and ID fraud issue along with Selective Service as raised by Sheriff Arpaio’s investigation, the House and Senate MUST debate the issue. They CANNOT IGNORE it. Below is the procedure:

“During the Joint Session, Members of Congress may object to individual electoral votes or to state returns as a whole. An objection must be declared in writing and signed by one Representative and one Senator. In the case of an objection, the Joint Session recesses and each chamber considers the objection separately in a session which cannot last more than two hours with each Member speaking for no more than five minutes.”

Those wishing to object, need not raise the eligibility issue. I understand that numerous Congressman have voiced impeachment issues regarding Obama. Any of these Congressman has the power to object on those issues and Congress CANNOT ignore it.

john, john, john …. in your quote (found at the House website, not the Constitution), note the length of such a session has a maxmum, no minimum.

So, yes, they could, as Doc has already assured you, retire to their respective chambers, and ignore it. Possibly even have a chuckle. Possibly even vote to censure the purveyor of frivolous objections.

Believe me, it wouldn’t even get that far. This is a house rule. Such foolishness would be squelched.

The counting will be completed by the new 113th Congress so all of the members there will be potentially up for election again not to mention trying to jockey for prime committee seats. Supporting the Birther cause will not be helpful to their needs.
