Whitman Books “Collector’s Vault” celebration of Barack Obama’s life and campaign hits shelves Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Among the Vault’s colorful pages are more than 50 separate pieces of Obama memorabilia, including reproductions of his birth certificate, high school yearbook photographs, family snapshots and historic speeches-plus collectible postcards, bumper stickers and campaign posters.
Finally, conclusive proof that Obama was born in Hawaii!

[I got my copy today, Feb 2, 2009. I was really hoping for a full-sized birth certificate reproduction instead of a miniature version.]
So would the copy of his birth certificate found in this book be the called the Vault copy?

If God Him or Herself came down and hand delivered a copy to these people with a note in firey letters saying “This Is Real You Moron !”, Polarik would be back in 6 hours detailing why it’s a fake, and these people would BELIEVE him.

A “certificate of live birth” is proof of one thing, the fact of birth.
Refer to the official declaration on a COLB. It states; “This copy serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding”
The court proceedings initiated were to confirm the status of citizenship. A COLB does not confirm status only birth. Hawaii issued COLBs to any parent requesting one until the seventies. Furthermore status is conveyed by the place and parents, plural, according to a well defined law. If and when an actual hearing is held the law will be imposed and the status must be observed according to it. Why delay the inevitable?

No, it is proof of what it says, namely that the Location of Birth is Honolulu, Hawaii. I see that you are micro analyzing the statement on the bottom of the certificate, in a rather silly way. Fact of birth includes in its context the details of the birth, not just that it occurred. Obama doesn’t need a certificate to prove he was born, he would just have to point to himself and say “I’m here”. Duh.
Finally, Hawaiian law says this: “§338-12 Evidentiary character of certificates. Certificates filed within thirty days after the time prescribed therefor shall be prima facie evidence of the facts therein stated.” One of the facts stated therein is that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.
