De Vattel: revisited

Emer de Vattel

Citizenship denialist hoax exposed!

Those advocating that we should change our traditional view of “natural born citizen” in favor of a view advocated by a 18th century Swiss philosopher, Emer de Vattel, argue that the framers of the Constitution relied on a work by that philosopher for their definition of “natural born citizen”. They cite this passage from his work, the short English title of which is The Law of Nations:

The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens

Those words, however, are quoted from a translation of de Vattel that first appeared in 1797, 10 years after the Constitution’s ratification. Did the framers know Vattel’s work in the French? If so, there is a problem because the literal phrase “natural-born citizen” is not present in the original French which says:

Les Naturels ou indigènes font ceux qui font nés dans le pays de Parens Citoyens.

For those who don’t speak French, the word “citizen” (Citoyen) appears only ONCE in the sentence. Continue Reading →

Soetoro travels in time!

Those following some of the nuttery about President Obama’s career know that he was at Occidental College in California in the early 1980’s, and that he went under the name Barry Soetoro (his step father’s family name) in Indonesia.

A California legislative record shows that a high student named Soetoro Moestabjab attended El Camino High School in 1963 (the year conveniently omitted by those who spin the story). The theory is that Hawaii born President Obama received a foreign student grant under the name Soetoro when he went to college.

In order to add credibility to the totally incredible fantasy about Barry Soetoro = Soetoro Moestabjab (one in high school while the other was 2 years old), Soetoro Moestabjab has traveled in time to 1981 and re-entered high school according to this fake entry at Classmates.com.

As I always said, the nObama are trying to rewrite history, and now we’ve caught them planting evidence.

LIBERI et al v. TAITZ et al

Hollister v. Soetoro

Liberi v. Taitz

In a move long anticipated, Philadelphia lawyer Phil Berg, anti-Obama activist and judicial candidate has filed suit against Orly Taitz on behalf of individuals who have come under attack recently by  California lawyer and anti-Obama conspiracy theories promoter Orly Taitz.

Orly Taitz frequently makes published assertions that two people who share the same name are the same person (like Barry Soetoro and Soetoro Moestabjab), and in this case Lisa Liberi, Phil Berg’s, associate may be the victim of just such a false association with a New Mexico felon having a similar name.

Also, former webmaster of Orly Taitz’s blog, Lisa Ostella, the recipient of all sorts of accusations related to the handling of former Orly blogs and the funneling of PayPal donations, is suing. We’ve reported here on the Ostella accusations before.

A complaint was filed and it looks like a request for a temporary restraining order. The full list of plaintiffs are: LISA LIBERI, PHILIP J. BERG, THE LAW OFFICES OF PHILIP J. BERG, EVELYN ADAMS [“MommaE”], LISA M. OSTELLA and GO EXCEL GLOBAL with defendants: ORLY TAITZ, DEFEND OUR FREEDOMS FOUNDATIONS, INC., YOSEF TAITZ, THE SANKEY FIRM, SANKEY INVESTIGATIONS, INC., NEIL SANKEY, JAMES SUNDQUIST, ROCK SALT PUBLISHING, LINDA SUE BELCHER, EDGAR HALE, CAREN HALE, PLAINS RADIO NETWORK, BAR H FARMS, KPRN AM 1610 [Plains Radio]. A Comment at the Natural Born Citizen Blog

I left the following comment on Leo C. Donofrio’s Natural Born Citizen blog.

Mr. Donofrio,

I am writing this comment to ask you to reconsider, in the light of new information, some statements made on this web site in regard to the late President Chester A. Arthur.

It has been said that 1) Chester A. Arthur knew he was ineligible for the office of Vice President when he ran in 1880 and 2) that statements made by Arthur so confused his opponents, that they were misdirected away from examining the naturalization status of his father.

A prior (1844) statement from the Supreme Court of New York in the case of Lynch v. Clarke states that the contemporary opinion both of the legal community and of the public at large was that Chester A. Arthur was eligible to be president. If true, one must infer from the Court’s statement that Arthur also believed that he was eligible.

Vice-chancellor Sandford, speaking for the Court said:

Upon principle therefore I can entertain no doubt but that by the law of the United States every person born within the dominions and allegiance of the United States whatever were the situation of his parents is a natural born citizen…the general understanding of the legal profession and the universal impression of the public mind so far as I have had the opportunity of knowing it… Continue Reading →

The Talibanization of America

Dr. Orly Taitz, DDS, Esq. has been gradually ratcheting up the rhetoric at her blogs. First she called for civilian investigation of Obama. Then she called for “new courts”. Later it was “citizen grand juries” and citizens arrests. In her latest articles, she is calling for citizen militias!

In Afghanistan, one legitimate grievance of the people was the lack of access to judicial process. The Taliban filled that vacuum with Islamic prosecutors, Islamic courts and Sharia law. They enforce their rulings with cruelty and violence. They intimidate the people through their militias.

Orly Taitz is calling for the Taliban program to be implemented here in America, just substituting “right-wing extremist” for “Islamic” because the judicial process didn’t agree with her frivolous lawsuits.

Do not be fooled. Orly Taitz is no patriot; she, in her obsessive fantasies about President Obama, is calling for nothing less than an end to the rule of law in America. She is trying to mold America into the image of her own insanity with herself as the central figure.

Denny @ Orly

Orly Taitz posts articles written by folks who write her. Sometimes they are worse than her stuff. Here’s a headliner that I’ve marked up with my truth pen. One doesn’t get to talk back to nonsense like this over at Dr. Taitz’s police state.

From reader Denny- how did CIA check Obama?

Polly, Out of the one hundred plus social security numbers and addresses Barry and his wife used [Internet searches for Social Security numbers for people with names like Barack and Michelle Obama is no way to check a number], which do you think Barry used to show his American citizenship? [You really don’t use a Social Security number to prove citizenship. A birth certificate or a passport is the way to go.] The CIA was notified and nothing was done. [Probably because it was all bunk.] Why, you can look them up on Google yourself. [The Social Security Administration doesn’t post Social Security numbers on its web site (except for dead people).] Continue Reading →
