Michigan candidate gets his birth certificate

Michigan gubernatorial candidate Mark McFarlin went to the vital records office to get his birth certificate, and to make a press statement about Obama’s.

I previously reported that McFarlin was a Republican running as a Democrat, but in this video, he says that he is a Republican. McFarlin has received some media attention about his ill-informed claim that “African American” should not have appeared on Obama’s certificate. Responding to criticism that “African American” isn’t on the President’s certificate, McFarlin corrects the record with the ill-informed claim that “African” should not have appeared on the certificate, citing the investigation of the Maricopa County Arizona volunteer Cold Case Posse. (The Cold Case Posse is a birther named Mike Zullo who has fabricated evidence and lied.)

This man looks quite foolish. It’s now memorialized on YouTube for eternity and will follow him for the rest of his life.

  2. This exhibits the typical Birther production quality: crappy sound, camera obviously hand held, and wrapped with the stupid Birther Report anti-Obama crapola. I read that they invited several reporters and not one of them showed up.

  3. Dr Kenneth Noisewater says:

I noticed something birthers should have issue with if they were consistent. He was born on April 3rd 1964 the doctor didn’t sign until April 7th 1964 and his birth wasn’t registered until April 13th. That’s 10 days later. Birthers have complained that Obama’s birth was registered 4 days after he was born.

Wow. Fred Flintstone has really let himself go! I guess the decades of being tricked out of his Pebbles cereal has really taken their toll on him!

  5. sfjeff says:

Wow- clearly this guy is qualified to be governor because he is capable of going and getting a copy of his birth certificate.

    LOL

    What a maroon!

I look forward to the Democrats of Michigan using this against the Republican candidates with great glee.

O dear, where does the birther in me start?

    * Clearly not everything is on a single line (as Vogt claimed it must be). For example, the “20” in father’s age field (2:50 in video) is clearly above the baseline of “Dallas, Texas”.
    * Obvious “ty”-kerning in “Bay City”
    * Clearly different sizes of the two “1”‘s in registation no. “041781”
    * Name given as “Mc Farlin” (twice), however he spells it “McFarlin”. Does somebody misspell his own name?
    * Clearly different typewriter in doctor’s signature (notice the broken “t” far below the baseline)
    * “Certificate of Live Birth”, not a birth certificate
    * Says “void without watermark” but no watermark visible
    * Certification unreadable.
    * Released only a shaky film (= digital internet file) of the document, not the actual birth certificate.
    * Where’s the original document (we don’t want no steenking certified copy!) and where’s the microfilm?

Oh, I could go on and on, but of course all birthers will accept this “BC” hook, line, sinker, boat and harbour – because the guy is white, I presume.

  7. Bob says:

“Mark” (if that’s his real name) looks more like the milkman than his “father.”

  8. gorefan says:

At 2:56 the paper appears to have a white border around the edge (edgeerase?). Does that mean it wasn’t copied onto green security paper? And there is no visible seal.

  9. JPotter says:

Man, I could swear this guy was running as a ‘Democrat’ … did he switch? Oh, he did, he diiiiiiid:

Michigan Political Points: ‘Birther’ Democrat goes Republican for primary against Gov. Rick Snyder

I guess this geniac realized there was no way in hell he was going to clear a blue primary as a birfer …. but he might have a chance running as a Red.

Short circuits all the pseudo-glee … he had birfers exclaiming that a Dem Governor had gone birfer. Sucks to be them.

I rather believe he was one of those DINO’s who thought it might lend some credence to his birfin’ if he claims he’s a Democrat. And it does, it least in Birtherstan.

  11. Greenfinches says:

What does he need a birth certificate for? I suppose he needs to be a US citizen, yes, but who cares about his nationality at birth…. not the voter (who seemed to be ok with Jennifer Granholm, after all)

Just desperate to make a a point, I suppose. Pitiful.

I’d like to know why the Office of Vital Records was a part of this circus?

It would have taken him far here in Okieland. Still a lot of old-school Southern Dems here. Or people that have yet to realize their party affiliation has left their positions behind. Or something. This is the state in which Terry freakin’ Randall tried to pull the same routine this guy was trying in MI …. Randall ran here as a DINO in the 2012 Presidential primary … and made a freakishly good showing, considering that the primaries here are closed.

mimi: I’d like to know why the Office of Vital Records was a part of this circus?

    Two possibilities:

    a. The clerk has Hollywood aspirations, and is hoping this will be her big break, or
    b. McFarlin was actually born in Johannesburg, but promised the OVR that he would get everyone new ergonomic office chairs (with optional shiatsu massager), and recarpet the building, if they helped promote his fake LFBC and he got elected.

What I’d like to know is why someone who appears to be a 16-year-old kid is allowed to carry in a state office building. I wonder if this “government office” is actually a left-over set from “Debbie Does Dearborn”, and the video is a fake.

Is there a way to zoom in on his driver’s license, and see whether it says “Foreign Student”?

I would also note that McFarlin has no chance of getting the birfer vote, since he obviously can’t give a speech without a teleprompter (or its old-fashioned, low-budget equivalent).
